I understand that, I really do. I didn’t explain properly but I did make a point in response to the cleaner that people were disposable now. I’m appalled at the lack of protection most supermarket workers have, and are expected to work through. The 2m distancing rule is certainly not practiced in shops.

Absolutely, but to be honest you have got to need the (probably minimum wage) quite badly as you really will be working front line with little or no protection, not only from the virus but the abuse and rudeness too.

If everyone shopped normally there 100% would be food on the shelves and no long queues in the shops. People are panic buying causing both the things I have mentioned. Yes I understand people might want to shop for a few days or so at a time so they are limiting themselves to exposure. But I normally ‘Big’ shop once a week and buy fresh every couple of days, so why has everyone gone nuts in the past week or so.

Another person I spoke to today, a real elderly gentleman said it was worse than the war at the moment as at least in the war you had your rations. A set amount each week and could trade with eachother. Now it just seems like it’s Everyman for himself and people are just greedily grabbing and being selfish. Civilised society we are not.

Like many things nowadays people are disposable sadly. I bet the cleaner for example has worked there for years, never been late, had little or no time off sick and is honest and reliable and does an excellent job. Now suddenly it’s goodbye and we might call you in a couple of months. Where does that leave her. I think loyalty should work both ways. I am now classed as a key worker, whilst three members of my family are not. My employer is pressurising me to work extra hours again next week ( which my family aren’t happy about as I could be exposing myself, and ultimately them to all sorts). I really am torn about letting colleagues down but cannot put my family in danger either, I have zero option of not attending work. A person told me today that he worked for National Express and had just be given a letter a few days ago laying him off as they were switching to a CHRISTMAS DAY service soon, not a Saturday service or even a Sunday one but running the amount of coaches usually available on Christmas Day. Wow, just wow.

I immediately thought of this when they said buses in Bristol were going to a less frequent service, everyone is getting shoved onto fewer buses. Not everyone can work at home. Not everyone has a car to use.

Yup, that’s exactly right. The selfishness of some people has shocked and saddened me. Oh, and I don’t know for certain why the Sainsbury’s staff are wearing body cams as mentioned earlier, but would hazard a guess that’s its the amount of abuse they are getting from customers.

It is very hard to keep track, and yes people will find loop holes if they are desperate/determined enough. I know some shops try to keep the items off sale to allow just enough time for the person to leave the store, and hopefully someone else will grab the item before they return. It’s all a game, just not a fun one.

I don’t know about Asda but she would have been refused. The check out (if like the one I am aware of ) would flash up a message saying the maximum amount of an item had already been scanned, just like it does when you have to check for age or alcohol or knives etc. That’s if the till operator didn’t notice first. The cashier would then remove all the extra items to be put back on the shelves. Of course the person *could* go and try to buy them again, but mostly they are shamed and don’t bother. The worse kind are the organised gangs type of shoppers, get friends and family members to each do separate transactions, not a lot the shops can do about that, but it’s happening lots. The worse thing I saw this morning was two transit type vans who had obviously been into the supermarket nearby and purchased what they could in bulk and set up 100 yards away on the roadside selling it.

I’m amazed at the lack of thought there is for these people that work in shops etc. No not a dig at you, it’s just that your post brought the subject up. I’m reading how people are able to work from home and isolate and expect the shops to be open and full of food and loo rolls, but how do they think the Provisions get there? They might moan about waiting 20 minutes in a check out queue, but what about the person sat there serving being exposed to God knows what. Customers holding banknotes in their mouths whilst shoving their shopping in in bags before paying, yes I’ve see it but thankfully not been on the receiving end. Never mind teachers and health workers etc being exposed to the virus, if this carries on there will be no staff to man the shops in a few weeks, seriously. Add the fact that many of the staff are part time females largely responsible for the childcare in their families, and work the school hours generally, what will happen to them now the schools are shutting for weeks or months longer than expected?

I think Scotland are closing schools on Friday and not looking likely to reopen until after the Summer???. Wales have just announced they are closing (schools)from Friday too now I believe.

I was surprised at so few tests

Don’t know if mentioned but The Killers put a message out a couple of days ago basically saying they had been working hard and planning their concerts for a long time and hoped/expected the virus to take the normal flu Summer pattern. Can’t see at the moment it will still happen.

And most certainly all about the money. The party paying were no doubt charged a Premium and therefore demanded a premium service, you don’t say no when they are calling the shots. But of course you should, safety is of course paramount. I don’t have experience of planes, only hot air balloon pilots, and if there is any slight doubt with equipment or weather they will cancel, even if they have disappointed people already stood in the basket. I’ve been in there and been cancelled with only minutes to go. The mantra is very much that we will fly another day. I don’t care how important it was to get from A to B, nothing can be that vital that you risk a life. This now seems much more than just chancing on coming across bad weather. At the end of the day he was a footballer, even someone who could save the world from this virus shouldn’t be put on a plane and fingers crossed he makes it. Very sad for all involved, someone must be having sleepless nights. But greed and money once again are truly the root of all evils. How tragic to be driven by both.

Right now I can’t see our midweek game going ahead, after this weekend I think football will be suspended/played behind closed doors. Just a guess mind.

And a workmate has a holiday planned there for next week and no advice not to travel and holiday company will not refund!

Yes the pitch looked fine, even with less than 24 hours turnaround and all the wet weather we’ve had recently.

I don’t think the 1pm ko helped,.Or the fact England were playing at 3, which was ok if you wanted to go into the sports bar straight after but a bit of a rush to get home for. Also I guess Worcester aren’t the attraction like one of the bigger names, and with WestBrom the day before an expensive W/e if you were pay on the day or couldn’t give both days up to watching sport
