  1. I think there is more chance of the Memorial ground becoming a Fruit Market than the Fruit Market becoming a football ground.
  2. I understand that people want it acknowledged, but ow many milestones/achievements/memorials are marked on the 38th,or any other random number, anniversary? I think the club will honour the past in two years time, but I understand why they wouldn’t every year.
  3. Exactly. Do they really have to rely on intimidating tactics to try to get a win. It does seem very amateur. No doubt teams do try and get the upper hand on eachother psychologically, I wonder if Lee’s grass measuring is a subtle way of unsettling the opposition as much as what we gain out of doing so. But to actually tell ( threaten) the opposition certainly smacks of desperation and isn’t sporting or in the spirit of the game. I wouldn’t like to think we involve ourselves in this stuff.
  4. I was impressed with the number of Bears hats on show though, we must have sold loads
  5. Maybe their experience of being in finals before helped them as they certainly settled better. We were always behind and although we clawed the game back to touching distance a few times we never got ahead, that has to affect you mentally. Good game though and players and fans should be proud.
  6. Good game but made me really decide that I hate the fact that the fans are mixed. I had quite a few Glousc sitting next to me. Our stadium is 'weird', they 'couldn't hear a thing' (from us, not the speakers) and the Bristol chant 'unimaginative'. That's when they weren't constantly in and out of the row for beers or toilet. i took great delight celebrating every point ?
  7. Plymouth certainly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory there
  8. Happenings at the Gas has just been described as 'A little soap opera'
  9. What next, denied a pen and a goal. You ruddy well know the Gas are going to score soon
  10. That was over the line, unlucky Plymouth
  11. And our Ryan Taylor on the bench. Wouldn't it be good...
  12. Calf injury commentators said. I say convenient.
  13. That’s actually quite funny, I bet Steve is gutted that he didn’t think of luring him away to Mansfield ?
  14. It’s quite an unusual career move for sure, and the timing is odd being as it’s half way through the season. Obviously I am just speculating but I hope the sudden urge to move back nearer to family is just that and not need, I don’t wish ill on anyone, even a Gas Manager who actually seemed a decent bloke.
  15. They will certainly be looking at dragging out an appointment long enough for the window to shut, job done until the Summer when they will find another reason not to financially back the club
  16. We were able to rest a few of our players, who haven’t had much of a break since the WC, and try a few of our youngsters. Job done and onto the next match, that’s all we can ask.
  17. I am totally unaware of Mansfield’s circumstances, but are they significantly better? Or is it purely geographical for him, does he have links with that part of the country? I’m just realising apart from him being Irish I know nothing about him.
  18. Nothing confirmed yet is there? Looks a possibility but nothing set in stone. Why would he go there, ok the Gas have not got a pot to piss in but they are 4th in league one, Mansfield are 18th in League Two.? Was he there as a player or something, what’s the connection? Not the usual Manager move for sure.
  19. London Irish had an ugly but effective game plan, and we were far off our best. We were pretty lucky to scrape the draw, they were a man down for the majority of the match. I agree they are no mugs and we seriously underestimated them. But a draw and bonus point I will happily take on reflection.
  20. Wow, that signing shows intent. Just wow.
  21. I find it impressive that rugby players largely are able to play well into their late thirties, it’s such a gruelling game physically. Quite different to football, but so is the length of a player’s career it seems? We are talking about players being a ‘fantastic signing’ at least 10 years older than we would if we were talking about football!
  22. Thank you, I was at the game today but certainly interested in future matches
  23. I was there, but watched City on my tablet. #Multitasking ?
