  1. Yup, today’s win for Bath and a narrow loss for Newcastle doesn’t help.
  2. He’s not quite up to miracles like that I don’t think
  3. I don’t know if you have seen the discusion on another thread, but my unicorn is awarded to the post of the highest order, not for any other reason
  4. Cotterill has always struck me as a manager who liked spending money, yes wheeling and dealing but spending. Yes he may have done really well at Cheltenham without spending but I don’t think he will want to go back to begging for loans, selling assets and having his hands tied. I know a lot of managers do this but there are loans and there are loans, just as there are times you have to accept offers for players to further their careers rather than because you desperately need the cash. I think Cotterill will belive he is beyond this type of club, that he’s done his time at that level and won’t go back. By that level I mean a plotless club with little or no facilities, League one or two clubs on the up with decent ground and investment might be appealing if we wants a project maybe.
  5. My understanding is that he has a place in Dubai and spends a lot of time there. Also, again I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but on tv last night they said he was at one of their matches recently, but at a guest of the opposition team. I don’t know if the rumours of him being interested are because of this sighting, but even then they are straw clutching I think.
  6. I’ve not read all through the posts of today so appologies if anyone has already commented, but didn’t he age over the four years or so. He looks pretty haggard now even compared to the promotion footage shown on the news. Best out of it I think, leave them to rot.* *I’ve got no love for him by the way, he has said and done some stupid things but I guess in this Season of Goodwill it’s hard to kick a bloke when he is down...kicking a club however is totally different!
  7. Exactly, if you are some wizz marketing guru salesman and can conjure up a buyer from that, then you deserve your salary.
  8. That’s not actually the part of the quote that stand out to me. It’s the fact they think they are attractive to an investor because they have a interesting backstory with their nicknames and have a unique kit. Wtf, they are in a worse mess than I thought if that’s a strong selling point.
  9. Whilst being tightly squeezed somewhere? As you say though it’s odd he says this then goes on to mention the bits that aren’t right.
  10. Is that true though, the mid table budget bit not the underperforming? I would be very surprised if they are paying League One average wages for the squad they have assembled, all freebies and misfits.
  11. I don’t think Dopey should take it so personal. NO manager will get a training ground etc, it’s just not happening. Everyone knows that, expect their deluded fans who are still hanging onto their pipe dreams as that’s preferable than facing reality. Dopey is asking for the sack. Let’s see how Wally feels about him going so public about their situation. Dopey’s stock is so low that no other club will want him unless he wants to go back to Non League or at best League Two where he will be employed to get a club promoted. The Gas cannot afford to sack him, the relationship between the parties has broken down. There are no winners here ( yes I am enjoying this). Like LJ he has had his best players sold, but unlike LJ hasn’t been backed at all regarding replacements. LJ is expected to achieve more with less, Dopey is expected to do the same with nothing!
  12. 12,200 ish. They did announce that figure had taken them through the 100,000 figure or something
  13. Great game. The sending off obviously helped but Bristol were dominant well before that, they certainly weren’t going to lose today. We did everything right and looked confident and well drilled at all times. We got a lot, we’ll all, the decisions from the Ref, and rightly so as Leicester weren’t above trying a few underhand tactics. We pretty much held our discipline and didn’t give away silly fouls. I don’t much like the mixing of the fans, especially when you find yourself surrounded by Leicester fans shouting Tigers every few minutes, but it was great to see one bloke in particular get quieter and quieter and sit back down and finally shut up.
  14. Awful defending 25-7 now. Lost this one . Edit; seconds later we gave them another try. 32-7 with only 48 mins gone. Hammered.
  15. Fighting back a little now. Horrible results for us last night though. But I was very impressed with CharlesP last week, if we can keep him fit he will turn round the season almost single handedly
  16. Guess we got to pray we don’t get Barnet
  17. Just watched a little of the Daryl interview I couldn’t stomach it all, but he does look like he has aged a lot recently. A sure sign of being under stress. Look at the lines on his brow, he isn’t a happy man at all. I bet he wishes he had bailed out when other clubs had been sniffing when his stock was high. No doubt he got swept along on the success of successive promotions and thought he could achieve everything with increasingly less and less. The penny must have dropped now that there is no new ground, no ground development, no new training facilities. He must also realise they can’t afford to pay him off either, so where is the incentive to turn it around? I guess so he gets a way out for himself by attracting another club is his only motive?
  18. Absolutely gutted today. Finally I leave a rugby game having seen the same passion and disappointment I often feel after watching City. The fans really got behind the team and at times it felt more like a football atmosphere, which was a good thing. I wanted to find Pat Lam and give him a hug and kick down the Referees door at the same time. Football is a cruel game at times, and now I find rugby just as hard to stomach. I can take losing but why when the technology is a huge part of the game was it not even used, even if the result turned out to be the same. I feel cheated. The Ref had decided what he was giving and already turning away before the move had been completed. Never mind all the replays, I saw it happen infront of me only feet away. Gutted for the Bears. PS the minutes silence was professionally held today, no misunderstanding, just perfect tribute. Also credit to the Bristol players who at the final whistle stayed out on the pitch and signed autographs and had selfies with people, they must have been devastated.
  19. Only Lansdown and South Stand open, so cameras are showing an empty Dolman, but it does look bare. Tickets were £10 I think, and kids £1, so not high.
  20. I’m not going tonight as I’m still now feeling great (LadyFlu) but delighted to discover just now that the game is on BT Sport.
