  1. Spot on. I actually quite like Ipswich (Norwich, too) but a large section of their supporters seems completely unable to sort the wheat from the chaff here. They have been a mess for a few years, moaned like hell about Mick’s brand of football but as he memorably put it, it “went well” after he left.. They are now in the same division as Burton, Morecambe, Cheltenham, Wimbledon, Fleetwood & Crewe so getting super excited about Mr. Scattergun & his insatiable need to always hog the limelight really is quite sad. They should get promoted this season & having signed the likes of Morsy, Celina & Walton that would be no massive achievement. It is beyond that where they need to focus, Ashton is like a child who can’t sit still, his need for it to be all about him will undoubtedly see it end in tears. Of course pointing this out makes me “bitter” & someone who “wants him back” in Ipswich fans’ eyes. Truth is, the appointments of Pearson, Rennie & Gould make me even happier than his departure did.
  2. How do you even know who they are? The bloke you mention (Barrett) could be stood next to me & I wouldn’t have a clue who he was.
  3. That’s the official story but in the past week they have signed 6 players, Halilovic (ex Brum), Rahman & Drinkwater (on loan from Chelsea), Junior Hoilett, Scott Dann & Dele-Bashiru from Watford. Several of these players have been historically on ten of thousands a week & in one case, £100k a week. I can just about understand Hoilett & Halilovic who were without clubs, but the Chelsea pair in particular look very fishy, it seems very strange that they are being loaned out & such a tiny percentage of their wages paid. No fan of Derby but it does seem odd they were only allowed to sign 4 players in this way & for clubs keeping to FFP (Swansea for instance, who sold Roberts & Lowe yesterday) it seems completely wrong.
  4. On Twitter Ipswich fans uniformly think he is some sort of genius. Their wage bill must be frightening if they don’t go up, them & Sheffield Wednesday are gambling wildly on promotion.
  5. Having seen him up close I reckon the one on the end is nearer 50 than 30. Cotts bombed Leon Clarke out last season after scoring just once, another is described by a Blackpool fan as one of the worst to play for them & the last bloke (the 50 year old) got released by Scunthorpe after playing just 14 games in the season. **** me.
  6. 32? **** me, that was some tough paper round, he looks like he’s about 40. So today so far Norman Stanley Barton has signed a Scouser & an ex Fleetwood player, you wouldn’t have to be Mystic Meg to have predicted that, would you? What’s that 20 he’s brought in now? Absolute ******* circus.
  7. Don’t they teach maths where that lot went to school? If you draw then the maximum number of points you’ve dropped is two. Probably explains their delusion over “sell out home crowds” & “massive away following”.
  8. There’s another bit in this interview where he talks about having “lived out of his car for the last 6 or 7 weeks before finding a place to stay down here”. He took over on February 22nd (same day as Nige), so what on earth is he on about? He’s been their manager for over six months now. As another gaschat post put it, his interviews are just a contradictory random word salad, none of which appears to make any sense at all. He is clearly delusional & is making Ben Garner (who was rubbish, but clearly had a coherent strategy based on young players) look like Jurgen Klopp.
  9. Immense. Has a little bit of everything, mobile, uses the ball very well, wins challenges, finds space, available for a pass, always goal side when we are defending. Really rate him, only 30 last month, looks a great acquisition.
  10. Cameron Pring is a left back. Zak Vyner played most of his Championship football at loan to Rotherham as a right back. It isn’t as if he’s asking Max O’Leary or Antoine Semenyo to have a go, is it?
  11. Spot on- someone moaning about Vyner will undoubtedly be a person also complaining when Simpson gets picked.
  12. Bet they don’t search the home end in the same manner.
  13. Yep. Certainly an instance of us selecting our team based on the opposition, though in Dasilva’s case he was really poor v Swansea.
  14. Equally Barton described him as a “20 goals a season player” last season when he took over. His record at Roverrz? 7 goals in 45 games.. #gaslogic
  15. What I don’t understand about this is that after the transfer window closes the maximum number of players aged over 21 you can have in a L2 squad this season is 20 & the blue few already have 23 of them. This means if they signed one of these codgers they would need to shift 4 players within the next week to comply, if they sign both of them they need to move on 5. Norman Stanley Barton needs to bring in The Count from Sesame St, not any more effing players.
  16. Just had a look (you have to, don’t you?). What is hilarious is prior to the kick off virtually every poster was predicting a Roverrrz win, presumably based on them beating the team bottom of the football league 1-0? They are absolutely deluded, love it. Norman Stanley Barton is going down twice in one year.
  17. Barton probably just needs another 12 players to add to the 12 he brought in during the summer ?
  18. Yep, that bloke who has just played in the quarter final of the Euros & against England no one has ever heard of him. Or the one who faced Germany, France & Portugal.. Or Andi Weimann, Chris Martin, Andy King, players with loads of Prem games behind them.. Gas always come out with this shit, let’s face it most of their team arrived this summer, in the latest 10 in, 13 out shitshow that happens in BS7 most seasons. Most people don’t know who fourth division footballers are but I do know their goalie (genuinely don’t know his name) was in the Finland squad, though.
  19. It’s a forum so that’s fair enough, but I just don’t think he was good enough. He scored 13 goals in his entire career at Championship level, just like Tony Thorpe he wasn’t up to the standard, no matter how we had utilised him.
  20. Trundle was a league one player who never did it consistently for anyone at Championship level, JET was far superior to him.
  21. That goal is right up there with any I have seen scored by a City player, Jimmy Mann v Shilton being one of very few better. I absolutely loved watching him, superb technique, excellent goal scoring record for us & even why we were a bottom six L1 side under SOD, JET was worth paying to see on his own.
  22. In all honesty as it was my birthday today I haven’t listened to anything regarding the game, I just watched the goals on my phone, so can’t tell you!
  23. @Silvio Dante Alex Scott is actually still 17 for another week yet..
