  1. As someone considering moving within BS3, trust me, your upper figure is now at the bottom end of what you would get something decent for. Those gas monkeys in Fishponds simply have no clue just how expensive that part of South Bristol is now..
  2. Never seen that reported anywhere before and I am still extremely doubtful of it now. Those articles tend to be written by people who were barely out of Primary school at the time, if they were even born at all. I can't see why the Clive Whitehead contract would have been so widely reported and the others not, so personally I'm doubting they ever happened. What was clearly the case was that back to back relegations, dwindling crowds, unwise expenditure and several players well past their best (plus a couple, Julian Marshall and Peter Aitken who were simply crap) all lead to the Ashton Eight.
  3. No argument with much of that mate but it isn't quite accurate to say the "players were on ten year contracts", just one, Clive Whitehead was (11 years actually), an understandable over reaction to Gary Collier leaving us under freedom of contract and he left us anyway, in a £100k deal to West Brom, as part of the fire sale which saw Gerry Gow & Tom Ritchie go to Man City & Sunderland..
  4. And you are being over generous. Every start for his national team has been at LB in a back four, so it isn't as if we have asked him to play up front or go in goal, is it? He is a £2m + international defender and should be judged as one.
  5. As usual Andy Howard of Radio Bris (who wangled that trip to Jordan to make that pathetic programme that blew smoke up Wael's arse) is giving him the Guardiola treatment on Twitter saying he is "coming out fighting" with absolutely no mention of what is it now? 8 defeats in the last nine games for that clown...
  6. Will be delighted to be proved wrong & obviously don't know if Paterson & Djuric are fully fit, but baffled by that team, Magnússon & Taylor especially.
  7. I tend not to read The Post these days because to be frank, it is horseshit, but Jack Vittles' Comical Ali reporting of their fortunes in it is always good for a laugh and true to form there are a couple of absolute belters here: "Sky high expectations" Seriously? From a club that plays in a ground that is easily one of the worst in the football league, can't apparently fund its own training ground & who have lost 7 out of 8, which he has described as a "sticky spell" bit of an understatement or what? Perhaps it is being less than 16 points behind Shrewsbury at this stage of the season, eh? My favourite though is their "top six fanbase' which is based on what, exactly? Certainly not on actual crowds, Bradford, Pompey and Charlton leave them absolutely standing, whereas Blackburn and MK Dons are better supported plus Plymouth, who had a higher gate recently on the same day against Rochdale when they were rock bottom, would certainly average more with comparable results.. Utter propaganda or as I said earlier, horseshit, you choose..
  8. I'd be much more surprised if it did make the press if it was true..
  9. Guess so. No surprise Taylor dropped, shame Djuric isn't starting..
  10. And in truth that is ******* dumb..
  11. 8701 today, less than at bottom of the table Plymouth v Rochdale. ******* tinpot club.
  12. A local club for local people would sum up many of their fans, especially that weirdo Watkins and the loser who films match reports alongside his Dad. Weird *******, aren't they?
  13. Good job then they beat a ten man bottom of the league side 2-1 at home in their last game, eh?
  14. £250k. Source? Posh's chairman, he is on social media a lot..
  15. Already old enough to legally have sex, by next year The Gap will be able to drink alcohol and vote...
  16. To be fair I think that is Plymouth's fifth so far, so hardly a surprise. I do think under Clarke that they try and get opponents sent off though, both Charlton and Bury's managers have commented this season on their diving to get players booked. Not that Jack Vittles' North Korean style reporting in The Post has ever mentioned this, of course.
  17. I like Mick, a lot. The football is basic but he is 100% honest and one of few these days not to blame the ref, weird circumstances (hello Darrell) etc when losing. He took horrendous stick last season despite having no funds at all and is not the longest serving manager in the division for no reason. I also loved his reaction early in the season when asked about their fans signing "super Mick McCarthy" after their latest win. He Said (on Radio Suffolk) " I pay no attention to it, it is all a load of bollocks, isn't it, the very same people wanted me sacked last season". Honest, proper bloke.
  18. Top spelling and grammar there from one of their brightest supporters.
  19. 16th now. Bring it on, suffer you bastards.
  20. Yep. Had less today than Argyle, who are rock bottom, 3000 less than Notts County in League Two. ******* massive...
  21. Good point. Remember that snarky Post pre season article that said we would be bottom after six games? Wonder if those ***** would like to print a retraction?
  22. Yep, the only positive has to be that we sack this clown. Took over a side that used to challenge for every competition and relegated them. **** off back over the bridge you bluffer.
  23. Was this horseshit seriously in the Post? "The club has wasted no time in getting to grips with the suggestions" **** off. They'll print any old rubbish about them, won't they? Though fair play to the comedian who actually suggested they provided a roof. Hard to know which of the two is more of a joke.
  24. Agreed, it is a really good example of a club building a sensible new stadium (£17m, apparently) but it is certainly not evidence of a "massive infrastructure", is it? Baffled as to why Dopey didn't mention MK, now that is a big ground..
