    Oh dear…. How utterly tin pot. I’m almost embarrassed for them. I honestly can’t think of another fanbase in English football that are thick enough to celebrate like they’ve won the league when there’s still everything to play for. It’s not even in their own hands ffs!

    No team talk required for Northampton, Port Vale or Mansfield’s players next week. Just show them this.

    Maybe it was a bit OTT - however, it was celebrating securing a place in the play-offs, which very much leaves things in our own hands, we have to win 3 games.

    Incidentally, what were your fans celebrating on the pitch yesterday?

    Me too. They are like an annoying wasp that needs a size 10 on it. Northampton will beat Barrow, so let's hope they **** up the playoffs, and this Anderson kid tears his hamstring next game. He's the only reason they are where they are.

    Same as Tammy's goals kept you up - most teams outside of the Premiership benefit from loan players at some point.

    Why on earth would somebody wish that on a youngster who's just starting his career - for me, that's crossed the line.

    Sunshine after the rain? after a rectal c tumor removed 3 years ago and following 4monthly MRI, CT, Ultrasound, blood tests all of which were clear, today have been signed off consultants care.

    No guarantee some other form of cancer wont rear its head sometime in the future but please ANY sign of blood/pain down there GET IT CHECKED OUT do not ignore it, the longer you do the higher price you could pay.

    I must thank the doctor (who has now himself passed away) who referred me to the hospital and the consultant who did the "Tems op" with no visible cuts,

    Do not put it off till tomorrow/next week it could be too late by then.

    Glad to read your good news - long may it continue.

    I'm at the beginning of the journey, having been given the big C diagnosis this afternoon.  Should be operated on within 3-4 weeks, quite a few tests to go through beforehand, as I have other health problems.  I'm remaining positive at the moment, it's not the death sentence that it used to be, although I'm not sure that the reality has hit me yet.

    I'm glad things have calmed down.

    I've just small claims and two potential court cases to go, plus sort the rest of their stuff to sort being picked up.

    Been a bit crazy last 6 months. Finally getting the house how I want it though. #smallwins.

    Sorry to read that there was drama.  I hope that you can begin to enjoy the house now, and that this will help with your stress levels

    Stay strong, eventually it will all be sorted - hold that thought!  Take care.

    Yes, but this is Bristol Rovers, the self labelled ‘Family Club’. They are always the innocent victims in any shenanigans, so no doubt the FGR end was full of Ted’s and they didn’t come on to celebrate but instead came on to ‘have a go’ at Rovers fans in a blatant attempt to incite violence. Rovers fans dressed up in red and white (like Ted’s) are entirely within their rights to defend their turf from the aggressive salad munching energy efficient tree huggers.

    The gift ?

    I've no idea why some of our fans felt it necessary to go on the pitch on Saturday.  Same as I don't understand why some football fans recently felt it necessary to smash up a train carriage when returning from an away victory, I'm sure that was a lovely experience for ordinary members of the public who were on the train.

    Well, maybe I do understand - it's because some people are pillocks, and you'll find a few at every football club.

    What you see on the video is the FGR supporters just want to celebrate at their end with their players and no need for the goons st the other end to come onto the pitch

    Sadly we've all got "goons" within our support.  I thought that FGR were a very good side, very quick going forward - your defence will be busy on Tuesday.  Alternatively, they may still be nursing hangovers, and you'll get a result!

    Being relegated in your own kit or trying to give it the big one to a promoted teams fans dressed as St George, what’s worse?

    The kids who ran on from the Blackthorn end didn't know what to do when they got near FGR, so they diverted to hide behind the St George blokes. ?

    Absolutely bang on. That’s what really gets my goat, but as soon as I hear it I have enough ammo in the tank to obliterate any ‘holier than thou’ comments. Especially from the self confessed family club.

    The only thing I can’t find something similar to is the punching of the horse? I think Rovers lead that one 2-0.

    Ha ha - you've triggered me! ??

    Deliberately injuring a police dog, as detailed by one of your own in his book.

    Seriously, I'll leave it at that - we could keep this going until Christmas!

    Miah was having a pop at a poster because the poster rightfully said "Rovers acted disgracefully" - which they did imo. Feel free to say they didn't and defend what they done at the time, that's fine. If you think your club done everything correctly then please point it out. If anyone wants to point out and have a go at what our board done at the time then feel free to, but don't expect anyone not to come back with some of the shocking things your club has done over the years.

    Miah then went on to say "Yeh okay (patronising much), you don't think the board at the time might have been ever so slightly guilty of running the club into the ground and shitting on their own players? City have done a great PR job lately of promoting the Ashton Gate 8 as heroes, when in reality they were treated like shite - and feel free to ask any of those 8 how a fair few City fans turned on them. Not many people come out of the 1982 debacle with much credit, but this rewriting of history painting Rovers as the bad guys is utter nonsense".

    Maybe Miah should have a look in the mirror, or maybe you can have a word with him with his own "holier than thou" stance. It seems to me he is basically saying "your lot is worse than our lot".

    Maybe I misunderstood him?  My own stance is that it's no different to the "my dad is bigger than your dad" argument which kids have. - it's a never ending circle, with valid points on both sides, along with some points not so valid.  There's never going to be a "winner" - just endless re-hashing of history.

    What should the board have done back then in your opinion, just fold?

    Oh no, a few fans turned on some players. That wouldn't happen from your fans would it.... At least you let players leave your club showing class, with no hatred or vitriol, or sing songs about having a party when they die...

    What did your board try and do exactly when we were about to go under for good back then? Treat our club a bit shitty?

    Did they support the Council helping us out? Act all shitty?

    Also what did your board do to the Rugby Club exactly? Be extremely shitty?

    As Miah has already said, the "holier than thou" stance from either side is ridiculous.

    I am sure they will be glued to their TV tonight counting all the empty seats at the gate, laughing about how our ground is too big for us, conveniently forgetting that -

    it is on TV;

    on a Bank Holiday Monday evening;

    That a lot of those empty seats will have been sold;

    It's a dead rubber for us;

    It will still be around twice their "sold out" stadium capacity.

    Crikey - you're getting your excuses in early!

    All seaters always make the gaps more visible - with terraces, people just spread out a bit more, so you don't get the empty spaces, like you do in a stadium with unused seats. I would think you'll get a decent turn out, people who've done the family stuff during the day can still attend, without it impacting on time with the kids etc.

    No it was a nothing end of season game for us. Sheffield were near the top. Very similar to Mondays game. Some bell end decided to make the decision to give Sheffield first two blocks in Dolman. All hell broke lose.

    Ah, I was thinking of the play off game when a team in the relegation place would play a two legged tie with team in promotion place from league below, to try and save their status.  I think Sheff Utd did so on that occassion - they stopped that format as there was a lot of trouble at the various matches I believe.

    Will be a fair few about Monday. Bank Holiday 5:30 kick off and plenty from Sheffield attending. What could possibly go wrong . Going back a fair few years it kicked off big time with them at Ashton Gate .

    Was that at the old style play-off game?

    If you read the replies you will see that the majority of people slate the original post, as it's accepted that City have the larger numbers (there are always a few who bury their heads in the sand regarding this).

    There’s swearing and there’s swearing though.

    We’re not talking about the occasional f### out of frustration - we probably all do that.

    We’re talking a constant stream of it, every word you can imagine, directed at individuals (players and fans) out of pure abuse, not frustration.

    Agreed, I think we all accept that swearing is engrained in the passion of matchdays.  Sometimes it is too much though, I was once stood behind a bloke who shoe-horned so many four letter words into everything he said, that none of it actually made sense.

    The majority of the younger ‘followers’ look up to the older stone island knock off wearing Neanderthals & aspire to be like them though that’s what’s worrying.

    You make some good points @RedMbut in my experiences the age is mixed and the 25ish age group are equally as culpable. I label them followers as whilst this conversation about these morons has been had before, these idiots are most definitely not fans & it does a great disservice to our actual fans. These brainless cretins use City as an excuse to have a day out, act like bell ends & get hammered. They don’t care about the football. If they aren’t turning up late & spending an afternoon abusing home & away fans like at bmouth they will only be spending the rest of the time in the concourse throwing bins around or something well thought out like that.

    Every club has them but we unfortunately have more than most. Embarrassing. I do always have a chuckle to myself though when I see the old ‘top boys’ decked out in stone island gear trying to re live ‘the glory years’.

    This all sounds sadly familiar, the OAP's trying to relive their youth, and the coked up youngsters who imitate their behaviour.  Can be major spoilers of away days for the rest of us.

    But, they somehow without no-one even knowing (even their own supporters) reduced the capacity of the shitpit to 9,000 odd.

    So now they claim they 'sell out' every game.

    Strange *****.

    The Safety Advisory Group have brought in tougher regulations since Covid, which has affected the capacity.  Supporters are no longer allowed to stand at the perimiter of the pitch, and general standing capacity has been reduced to make it easier to keep the "yellow box" areas clear of fans.  Not sure how this really impacts on the safety of the stadium, but I suppose that they have to do something to justify their existence.

    Took me all my strength to leave the house today.

    Last couple of weeks have been more batshit than usual with poison pen letters and the ex deciding to try and cancel the entire tenancy because she's utterly off on one.

    Add to that she's decided to move out Easter Saturday, wanted to invite half her family to do it and then has ignored small claims. It's a weeny bit stressful

    These next 5 days are going to be bloody torture ?

    Dig deep to find some inner strength if you can.  Try to focus ahead to when she's moved out, and hopefully things may be less stressful for you.  Tough times indeed - take care, and reach out if you need to.
