    This is hilarious.

Not even half a tank of petrol.

Due to issues between the Supporters Club and the football club, it's being done online at the moment.  Usually raises around £800 per match I think - hopefully they'll get back to tickets being sold in person, at the ground.

On a similar subject, do you still have programme sellers wandering around outside the ground, or are they sold from kiosks?

I didn’t suggest or mention your fans were booing him - and I didn’t suggest you were a ‘bullsh**er’ - dunno where you got all that from....

Apologies, feeling a bit defensive at the moment - which is more than can be said for my team! ?

My friend did comment on this. According to him he was given a very warm welcome but as soon as he scored he got dogs abuse and it was laughable how he went from hero to zero in an instant. As I said he had made his exit with his children before the final whistle.

He did say that Lines didn’t celebrate his goal, which some of their fans respected. But then he seemed to get abuse from the Stevenage fans on social media not understanding this. The bloke was copping abuse from ll sides for being successful at his job!

But yes, the majority of the abuse was directed at Barton and the performance.

Sorry that your friend and his children had to put up with hearing unpleasant stuff.  I've had that myself, when you find yourself standing by somebody with an IQ of single digits, who uses foul language all the time.  One bloke was putting so many four lettered words into each sentence, that nothing he said make sense. There was definitely a turning of the tide re. feelings against Barton at the end of the game - all water of a duck's back to him I guess.

Opposition player scores winning goal against lower, lower league side and gets a good reception and was applauded off the pitch - wow, your club is just unbelievable ... oh well

I've got a video on my phone of him coming off the pitch - I'm not a bullshi**er.  Happy to post it, if somebody can give me instructions. He didn't celebrate his goal, which was noted and appreciated.  I've posted his Tweet below - do you think he was thanking people for staying behind and booing him?

Wow....what a day  thank you to everyone who stayed behind after the final whistle that really meant a lot to me  and thank you to everyone at BRFC for making sure my family had a fantastic day to remember

I spoke to a few Gashead friends today. One a normally level headed fair bloke, so I value his opinion, said it was the first time ever he had left early. He said loads walked out in protest as it was gettingvwuite nasty in there, so @Bristol Robthis tallies in with what you witnessed. He has two young children and the level of abuse being dished out to Barton and Lines was like nothing he has heard before.

He certainly isn’t a ‘delicate’ fan. He said he actually thought there would be some sort of riot, and there certainly would be if they lose again on Tuesday. It was really hostile. The fans have lost patience with Barton big time.

Lines got a good reception, and was also applauded off the pitch at the end.

I'm done...really done...sorry guys and gals but i don't want to live in this ****** up world any more. I have set a date on the 23rd (my 43rd birthday), i have the BBQ  and the vodka ready.

    YOU

    ALL

Please try and talk things through with somebody, be that via the Samaritans, MIND, or a trusted friend.  I made the mistake of keeping my negative feelings within my own head, where they multiply and magnify.  We can't change the world, however, we can make small changes within our own lives, which is a start.  Please reach out to somebody, just expressing your thoughts out loud, and sharing, can offer some relief.  Take care.

I find it slightly ironic that he pulls payers away to avoid physical confrontation when he’s spent his entire life involved in physical confrontation. He must be the most obnoxious manager in the football pyramid. Just a quick summary on this website belie

As I said in my earlier post, the irony of it did not pass me by, however, on this occasion he did the right thing, the same as most managers do in that situation.

Well that bodes well then. How fortunate the Blue Few are to have a leader with such a cool head in a potentially volatile situation. Players riled by a dodgy refs decisions - a contentious sending off, a late late penalty award. Anything could happen! You need sound, level headed leadership at these times, someone who can step outside of the maelstrom, take control and lead by example. It looks like Rovers have found their man...

   ...

The irony of the situation did not pass me by! ?

I have no clue what ‘posts’ you are referring to? The person I heard it from was from a Sag who was actually at the game, who funnily enough for some reason or another thinks the sun shines out of Barton’s ass.

As for me only posting ‘negative things’ not like your shower do anything positive now isit, hence why this thread exists.

Apologies, somebody had written exactly the same thing on the forum, so I wrongly assumed that was where you'd got it from.  I was referring to that poster with regard to posting negative things, not yourself (to be fair, I wouldn't expect you to post anything positive).

That's the whole point though.....if it comes out of the gob or written hand of any Fewer the chances are it has been made up without any relevance to fact whatsoever. I think that is what In The Net was getting at..............

It was posted by one person, who only ever has negative things to say - plenty of other posts pointing out that what he said was incorrect - wonder why BCFC11 didn't quote one of those?

The hubcap stealer wasn’t happy with the “line person” who was responsible for ensuring his grubby mob slunk home with nothing to show for their efforts. ?

He referred to said person as "lineswoman", then hastily corrected himself, as one must do these days.

Barton running onto the pitch at FT to stop his ‘players’ shaking hands with the referee, W⚓

He was making sure that they didn't confront the referee, physically pulled one player away - same as a lot of managers usually do when the players have been riled by some of the ref's decisions.  If you're going to criticise, at least keep it factual.

Really pleased with that as 3 weeks ago we wasn't sure i we would have a club until Power sold up. The few professionals we had only stated pre/ season training around the same time and within the last 2 weeks we've brought in 11 players who haven't even had time to gel together and there's still more to follow. The best thing I've seen is the new owner sat amongst the fans celebrating behind the goal!

Very early days but there's an energy about the club again and have to say how well Ben Garner speaks and maybe the horse punchers were too soon to sack him as the guy clearly has a vision along with the new owner and director of football we have in place.

I think we did sack him too soon, you could see that there were improvements on the pitch, and I think that he would have kept us up.

It seems that the players who were signed/disposed of were not all of his choosing, although he carried the can.  I'd like to see him do well, even if he is just up the M4.

Although this does not excuse the actions of our fans the gas retaliated by booing throughout the minutes silence for our then chairman Des Williams at the Louis Donowa derby game.

Shameful, made worse because other Rovers supporters were telling those who started the booing to shut up - which only added to the noise.  I didn't really care about the result that evening.

I don't think there's any moral ground to be gained by either club with regards to this sort of thing, unfortunately we both have history.  Rovers were also guilty of the Aberfan chant, as I'm sure other clubs were at the time.

"We're all having a party when Matty Taylor is dead" dear oh dear, in all my years of watching football and visiting grounds all over the country I've never heard anything like that being sung by fans, they really are the weirdest bunch of fans, they never cease to amaze.

Unfortunately I have heard similar sung by fans elsewhere, sewer-rats tend to pop up everywhere.  Bloke moved to further his career and earn a better wage for his family - they should just get over it.

    1. I genuinely don’t know if it was a crass error or some form of deliberate attempt to undermine things. They said they were quoting the prosecutor, but that’d require someone from the club to have been present at the hearing - surely they just haven’t taken Barton’s word for it? The only time you ever hear “victimless crime” tends to be either shoplifting from a larger retailer - but this isn’t a policing term because obviously it’s not true, or possibly simple possession of drugs.

Either way, at best it’s wholly negligent and at worst it’s an evil attempt and undermining the judicial process.

    2. The police obviously bailed him the day after the offence. This would have been most likely because on the day they didn’t have sufficient evidence to change. When he returned on bail (or released pending investigation - which is very similar), they charged him. Now, because they initially released him and because he presumably behaved himself while on said bail (for this offence), it makes it 100x more difficult to then remand at a later time. This most recent charge is at the lowest end of the scale and magistrates are under immense pressure not to remand prisoners - overcrowding of prisons and cost of remand - that it was never likely he’d be remanded for a low level assault. Remands tend to get reserved for higher level assaults or for people who are much more likely to abscond/offend on bail/interfere with justice. If he were to commit another assault id say remand chances would increase ten fold.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge @Fordy62 - very interesting to get a take on this from those of you who are involved in the legal system.

With regards to the awful statement, which I understand has now been amended on the Rovers website, the club were originally quoting from the Evening Standard report with regards to what the Crown Prosecutor had said in Court.  The Evening Standard have also amended their online copy now.  I saw online that some legal eagle with a blue tick had picked up the Standard reporter's error - which, I understand, should have read "victimless prosecution".  I would liked to have thought that the club's legal adviser would have queried the accuracy of this before the notorious statement was signed off - maybe the tea lady signed it off, it's Rovers after all.  Apart from that, there was no need to include it in the club statement, and I think that they were trying to mislead those who didn't have knowledge of legal terminology.

Although a prosecution can be victimless, I don’t think you can have a non willing restraining order. It wouldn’t work because there’d be no applicant.

Thank you.  You've obviously cottoned onto the fact that I don't always digest information first time around. ??
