Of course if the redistribution ideas for football to through, ie 17-25 pct of PL cash to the Football League, Parachute Payments either scrapped or massively reformed then that could change everything.
What is "value" though and how is it achieved? Can be quite subjective, different things for different people.
Value isn't subjective from an investment perspective. It's about finding company's that are for sale for less than there objective value.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/v/valueinvesting.asp
Most value investments are long term because they are trying to avoid buying and selling fees, they usually want an asset to be able to raise capital against. No idea what's going on here but I couldn't see us being a good club to "flip" at this point.

Well yes there's that but usually- good point!
Often an Investor may want to come in and start throwing cash around instantly on new players etc. Maybe each case is different, perhaps one for us would be happier to play a longer game. A range of clubs does show the excited new owner or investor looking to buy, buy, buy.
Interestingly it would likely highlight that the investor is looking for value though.

Cheap tickets def needed by the club to get any sort of crowd.
Define cheap? I would imagine £25 up to £35 for middle or somewhere around there is the going rate. If they can do tickets for £20 I think that's pretty good.

This was far worse last week. This is why flares shouldn't ever be near a football ground. And as for the ' fan' with the corner flag...it's like a beheading. Truly sickening behaviour.
Well as someone who likes pyro in the stadium that is horrendous - that must have come from a flare gun? Not sue what the difference is between a flare gun and a real gun but I would imagine the consequences are similar e.g. it counts as a firearm and the person that fired it is going away for a long time.
Surely no one would be that stupid in this country?

We need money for new player/s in Jan. Are top assets are Scott - Conway - Semenyou.
Who would you rather lose ?
I argued in the summer that we should have sold Semenyo then in fear that his value may fall the closer it gets to the end of his contract.
It's not about who I would rather lose its about what's the correct decision for the club.

He needs to score goals, lots of goals. If he doesn't even if he plays he won't get noticed.
Of course if he scores lots of goals us as a group of fans will then want him to stay and accuse the club of lacking ambition if we sell him.

I’ve not watched an England world cup final game.
Anybody else refusing to watch this farcical spectacle?
I'm not tuning in and I will forego the entertainment for the simple reason this world cup is a complete sham (timing, corruption, human rights, deaths in building it ect - it's a long list) but also I don't really follow England except at tournaments usually, I didn't watch England last week and didn't feel like I was missing out, I didn't watch them yesterday and didn't feel like I was missing out.
It's interesting all those that said they weren't going to boycott the World Cup and instead they will go there and use there presence to highlight the issues and hold power to account. What that seems to have turned into is - only if they let us, and no one feels uncomfortable, and we don’t actually have to do anything.

Never quite understood the hype around Stone Island and the desire to wear it...
I think it's just a flex - look what I can afford.

Looks like a shirt that's been worn in a muddy game already.
I assume it cost £2k or something stupid!

I like him enough to cheer on Scotland even if they were playing England (as long as we didn't have a player (Scott) that was playing for England).

FFP-wise, I think this is the situation:
Usually it’s a 3 year period, but with covid, they are allowing a 4 year period, with the 19/20 and 20/21 period placed together and averaged.
So for 18/19 we made a profit of £11m
For 19/20 we lost £10m
For 20/21 we lost £38.4m
Average for those 2 is therefore £24.2 loss
21/22 we lost £28.5m
So for the 3 year average, we are at a total loss of £28.5 + £24.2 - £11 = £41.7
So that’s £41.7m losses against a limit of £39m, which obviously puts us over, but we don’t yet know how much we are allowed to deduct from this for the covid losses being allowed.
As long as this is more than £2.7m then we are inside the FFP.Interesting, I didn't realise they had moved to a 4y period.
If they move back to a 3 year period what does that do for next season? I make it an average of £33.45 for this and last season and that means we need to be less than £-6m next season - might be possible with deductions and the big expenses (Kalas,Wells) on new contracts or off the books.

I can understand your disappointment but not shock. As a corporation City have no marketing skills whatsoever.
Is having stock marketing? Surely it highlights the marketing dept have done a great job, not so great by whoever is responsible for ordering the stock.

Good guy JB. Like you said - no need to do it but as a % of income shows how much he loves football and the area.
something more than most.

Doesn't fill me with dread like he used to.

This feels like something that was planned for a bit of restructuring once Gould leaves, but I think the announcement has been brought forward a few weeks due to the current mood. Maybe I'm too cynical.
I thought the other way, this is in response to the advances made by FGR and has taken the standard "a bit of time" to put in place.
The CEO would make the decision of this job being needed and then the appointment and he wouldn't have been able to do that if he had already handed his notice in so it was probably all agreed in principle prior to the fans forum.

Yes - Commenting on the fact that I posted 7 days ago mistakes he keeps making and again those mistakes are made again tonight.
Thats it really
your obvious answers were:
1. Nakhi Wells needs to stay on the pitch when we are chasing a goal.
We weren’t chasing a goal before the game started.2. Chris Martin should never be brought on when we are chasing a goal.
He started, we weren’t chasing a goal.3 Sykes is not a wing back - I think Tanner would be better
Sykes has had a good start to the season so far,
4 JD is not a wing back - Pring would be better
Is that obvious? I share the opinion but I’m not sure it’s obvious what’s going on there
5 Wilson never got a chance and he is a natural wingback again madness.
Wilson is weak defensively and beaten far too easily every time I have seen him.
5. Playing Max in goal.
I know controversial but Bentley makes game saving saves. Max has not done to bad in fairness but I also don’t think he has had a lot to do at the same time. What’s obvious is that Max’s distribution is better. I don’t know what the obvious answer is as you put it, we didn’t play Max so your obvious point of not playing Max was fulfilled - it didn’t go well.

Not sure what you mean.
You posted the below at or just before half time.

No 3 - Fail - Vyner better option if not playing him at CB where he should be
No 4 - Fail - Pring is so much better
No 5 - Fail Bentley not even good enough tonight contract issue or not - Joke
I can’t put my finger on why it’s not going well tonight.
New mistake to add
6 - Playing Andy King

It reminded me of the Millen, McInnes and SOD era where we would roll over to lower league opponents at every opportunity.
I knew this season would be difficult but 3 points off the relegation spots I must admit to getting a bit nervous.

No, you didn’t post that 7 days ago, you were replying to the post you made 7 days ago.
I know sometimes talking to yourself is the easiest way to have a conversation on here but if you do that you have to expect someone to at least critique what you are saying to yourself.

Like everyone that gets a lower offer when negotiating a contract he will want to see what the rest of the market is like before committing to another few years.
Sensible on both sides just to carry on as it is until a decision can be made.

Not disagreeing but this would carry more weight if you posted it in the hour between the team being announced and the kickoff, that would show it was obvious rather a knee jerk reaction to being 0-2 down.

That was mental. Could be 4-4 or any variation in between.
God knows how the 2nd half plays out.
Not sure how we would have scored 4 with 1 shot on target, 2 off target and 1 blocked?

Who has that Plymouth crest in the changing room? Zak was sat next to it and he was there on loan but not sure it was his.
Seems a bit strange.
