    Yes

No - but only because I think transfer fees are going to come down in the future.

I've been thinking that for 20 years, given up on it now - always seems like there is more money to spend.

I think if he went to a Wolves, Palace or Villa type club (outside chance of European places but not really going to make it) then I think he could move from there to a top 6 side for £100m+ in a few years. It will be interesting to buy him back for that much money when we get there and receive a 30% sell on for our own purchase.

Political issues aside, I’d see Newcastle as a top move for him. They’re not quite huge, but now have the cash to get there - more potential than Brentford or Brighton.

Eddie Howe would be a good mentor and I think he’d actually have a chance of getting into the side  quite quickly, in contrast with say Man City or Spurs.

Problem with Newcastle and Man C is there won't be a chance of a sell on so that adds £10m.

Some salty comments about our ground being too big for us

Despite our attendances being 7th best in the league and our % attendance compared to capacity being higher than their poxy shithole

It doesn't help that the game was on Sky and that they are Blackpool. Probably one of our lowest Saturday attendances of the season.

Went to Cardiff last week and after that experience I won't be rushing back to Wales for a game, treated like a herd of cattle, can't get a pint anywhere except for the overpriced crap at the ground, you feel like a criminal for daring to go to a football match and as others have said when Cardiff and Swansea come here they go pretty much anywhere they want Inc Swansea drinking on the waterfront on a Friday afternoon fairly recently.

It's really shit, got to Cardiff and was told there were buses, didn't want to go to the ground and would have liked to have a look around the city. Walked off under the bridge only to be met by a bunch of hedlu intent on aggressively pushed everyone around, no one knew what was going on and for asking you got a nice strong push from a copper saying "don't spoil your day". It's already spoilt because of you! Then we were marched to the ground!

What's the point in going to an away game if all you get to see is the lego stadium.

I suppose to an outsider they might have thought.

"Okay, tricky time on the pitch with a shedload of injuries and home advantage removed (as fot everyone) no fans.

"Nezt season, injuries reasonably resolved, fans back.

"Good infrastructure- academy, ground, HPC nearing completion. Lots of experienced players including a number of internationals. Give them some structure, injures reduce massively and off we go. 3 year plan with some changes!"

Rot was of course much deeper, the legacy of the injures much worse- wonder how up front we were about just what a financial hole we were in! Otoh if too rosey a picture painted maybe he'd have walked.

I would imagine he would have understood the financial mess, I think maybe he underestimated the fitness issues some of the players had, maybe the toxic nature of some of the players that were here and how difficult it was to get them off the books. I was also thinking maybe it was more difficult to get the executive buy in to begin with.

Watched a little at lunchtime, know nothing of the standard of the French leagues but it didn’t look a very good to me, very laboured pace to the game.

I think that's what they mean by making him the player he now is, he is stronger, faster and more robust than when he first arrived. Not enough for the rigor of the championship every week but when you go to a league like France most of the teams are below championship quality.

    Indeed, I do agree.

But as I said, Kits are a big deal in modern football. Massive talking point for younger fans and the wider football community. His kits have put us right at the forefront of that sub section of football discourse.

I think Jon was put firmly in his box by Nige last year when he started banging on about under performing. I think he's been told to shut up to be honest.

Chairman can mean as little as the note taker at board meetings! The power and decision making clearly now resides in the CEO's office, and that's arguably better than a wealthy man's son doing a job he's not really qualified for!

I guess another way of putting that is that it's better to let a football professional do his job rather than a fan try to play football manager with a real football club?

I don’t wear replica shirts these days; I leave that to the kids. But what chairman gets involved with kit designs? JL makes us look tinpot IMO. Radio silence from him on the issues that matter, but don’t worry he’s been locked away with his crayons again. Leave it to the professionals, Jon.

I get what you are saying but who else do we put up as spokesman, it's obviously not Nige's job to talk kit and I think he would probably have a 2 word answer to being asked to. Maybe CEO, certainly doesn't seem like a CFO, COO or a CCO job at a football club, deciding the kits isn't really the football administration side of things, they should all be working to make the club a success on a daily basis.

What we really want (as fans) is someone like Scott Murray to just turn up and do a funny video basically saying "I love this kit" but that doesn't do it for the supplier, they want to see someone senior behind it selling the back story about everything the club and them have done in partnership ?.

I can't think of anyone that matters to businesses but at the same time doesn't matter to fans in perfect balance enough to talk about it. Talk about crayons is crass but he probably only had them out for 1/2 a day while the professionals actually produced the kit design and then asked him to stand infront of it and told him it was what he drew.
