I was unsure on this one so I checked.

LAWS OF THE GAME & FA RULES

    LAW 12: FOULS AND MISCONDUCT

IFAB Laws of the Game 2023-24

    2. Indirect free kicks

    • controls the ball with the hand/arm for more than six seconds before releasing it

I've got myself all kinds of confused.

Danbury red said and you made in bold - "how long it takes the keeper to kick the ball out."

You seem to be quoting a rule about indirect free kicks, is the keeper kicking from hands considered indirect free kick?

There is a time limit 6 seconds or indirect free kick should be given if longer. It's laughable what refs allow. I don't understand why the crowd don't start chanting the time in seconds to remind the ref and the fourth official can then report the ref for not invoking the rules when it's not adhered to. Fat chance of that happening.

Nope, this was changed to the refs discretion. The crowd chanting before the rule was changed was cringe enough, after the rule changed (which I heard a few times last season) adds ignorance.

Gazza offers the corrective to "what if your boyhood dream came true and not only did you play for England but you were England's best player for half a dozen years"?

Similar to Kurt Cobain - if you're unhappy then becoming the world's biggest rock star won''t change that.

He has always been a very troubled man, success and wealth won't change that.

If anything wealth is just an amplifier. If you're troubled and poor then that places some limitations on how much damage you can do to yourself, if you troubled and wealthy then there's no limit!

If you told me the Ian Rush mural was in Bristol, I’d believe you.

I know how much we like a good bin here, council provided bins in Liverpool have to be purple because blue or red or black is seen as favouritism towards a particular football club.

That's the only thing that made think it's not Bristol TBH.

Regarding Ashton funny how the tables turn. Guess it's a case of any port in a storm but...the Club in q used to be a bit of a model not that long ago

Possibly even pre dating the Gourlay departure but if Ashton is the answer then what the hell is the question! Especially FFP aside given that the West Brom owner either can't or won't fund inevitable cash deficits at the level.

It's amazing how fans see a guy saying something like "we will win at all costs" and just say I want a bit of that.

That's all he does - tell you things that any football fan would like to hear.

Genuinely seems to care about the club he represents .... because they have done well. When they aren't doing well it will be that he doesn't care.

I swear all football fans are the same except Liverpool fans.

Is it really worth it? Shouldn't we just be happy with our lot?

So why doesn't every team try to play at the lowest level possible?

I guess, without much knowledge of either's abilities, that Robinson is better than Joe from the little I've seen of them over the past three years.

However my comments about the American owner is based on my experience of American companies and their American personnel, that they believe that they are so much better than any other country and it's people. Coca Cola and Gillette were ones I had dealings with at very high levels of management and they were particularly arrogant and demeaning.

I don't think it's restricted to Americans. I've never known a situation that's different to that, even if it's local like a London based company coming into a Bristol based company or a Bristol based company buying up a Taunton based company.

The bigger company/country always seems to be arrogant towards the smaller, it never makes sense - if they were so good they wouldn't have to buy the other.

Shares in HL have fallen by two thirds in value over the last four years, so Steve was wise to get out. Hargreaves has been railing against the terrible record of the current management. More fool him for NOT diversifying.

Depends what Steve did with it. I don't think he really cares as long as it funds his projects whereas Hargreaves is a bit of a miser as far as I led to believe and wants to extract as much as possible. Let's face it if SL wanted to make lots more money he could have found a better way of doing it than owning a sports conglomerate but the image that's put across is a father that wanted to spend time with his son doing something his son was interested in - can't kick him for that, the problem comes is that I think SL likes business and JL actually likes football which aren't the same thing.

I don’t think max is a better keeper but I do think he’s a more positive keeper than Dan.
If we ever do get promoted though , I think we’ll need a better keeper than max

We will need a better keeper than Max but that wouldn't be bringing Bentley back - the prem demands positive keeping.

  11. We do now have to accept that either Luton or Kasey Palmer will be playing in the prem before us.

A bit of a stick to beat the club with because we say we can't compete due to parachute payments but with both cov and Luton in playoff final and teams like forest, Brentford, leeds, Sheffield United, Wolves, Brighton all getting promoted without parachute payments I don't see why we can't compete. Heck ever Barnsley have been in the playoffs recently!

    Auto......off the scale orgasmic

    Play offs.....excellent

    Position 10 to 6.....acceptable

    Below 10....failure

Without the squad being understood it’s impossible really. Just want improvement so more than 59 points and higher than 14th.

    Auto are unbelievable

    playoffs are barely believable

6 to 10 would be an achievement but ultimately disappointing

10 to 14 would be ok but dull

14 to 21 disappointing and ultimately unacceptable

below 21 getting the bed sheets out

All I have to say is thank **** we played a relegated Rotherham ??

This was my second after the Ward promotion, I think I would rather pick which of my kids I prefer than pick a favourite promotion - like kids they all there quirks.

I know that's light hearted but John's a genuine guy making a genuine offer.

I know that if I asked for one then he would send it and wouldn't even ask for the postage.

    It's tremendously unselfish.

I completely agree, I wouldn't want it to come across as taking the piss, it was a smart arse comment I know but I am genuinely interested in how many people take him up on the offer.

Can you put it on a phonograph ?. Just out of curiosity does anyone ever take you up on these offers? Isn't it a bit like saying if anyone wants a betamax video of our latest game you would be happy to do it?

Some fans will never know what it was like to be stood in the East End. It wasn't ever the same when the seating went in.

I am in the unfortunate situation of having stood on the east end and can't remember it because I was too young!

I can remember being in there once the seating went in and it was better atmosphere than what we have now and those that say but the view was shit and there was no concourse - If I wanted a view or concourse I could have gone in the Williams but I want atmosphere more than anything.

When they were planning the Ashton vale stadium they were talking about a downward sloping roof or adding things to bounce the sound off of like the EE roof, I wonder if that's possible in the south stand.

  18. Went and had a look today, bits of fabric falling out of seams and bleeding colours on the rubber badge - worst quality shirts I have seen I think.

I can't believe people have bought it let alone for £50!
