  1. IMO if they can't decide within 30 seconds, no penalty and carry on with the game
  2. Or Escape to Victory. All the greats, Stallone, Caine, Osman....
  3. The Gate Be careful what you wish for Job for Cotts Any mention of the Avon Gorge hotel (including this one!)
  4. I haven't followed Pearson's career as closely as some. Is he really not as effective without his right hand man Shakespeare? Are we getting some of his good bits, but not the full package?
  5. Do we really want someone who's lost interest appointing his replacement? It's not just about 3 games, I think people are fed up because it's been so drab for so long. For me the ownership situation needs concluding ASAP. You either want it or you don't, there's no in between. Where's the light at the end of the tunnel? It feels staler than the french stick I threw out this morning!
  6. Not sure what the rules are this week, yellow for that is fine with me, I don't want to see the game turned into a complete pantomime
  7. I'm not up to speed with the various academy categories, I don't even know our current status? What are the benefits of being Cat 1 over say Cat 2? How do you get to Cat 1, is it just a case of proving you're spending the money and making an application? I know we're in every penny counts territory, but £2.3-4.9m seems relatively small when compared to what we've spent on some less than productive players down the years. There are more young players coming through which is great to see, maybe we are slowly moving up the categories.
  8. The Dolman was bouncing like a ball ! I went tonight and it was a good show, a lot of younger people there. I don't mind a mixture of acts for all ages, us oldies had to wait a long time for events like this in Bristol. I do agree that its's way too expensive though. This wasn't a particularly complex or spectacular show and I think the number of empty seats reflected the cost.
  9. At last, they can stop banging on about 1958 !
  10. I mean that really is the important part of that memory that AG City shared with us.
  11. I agree. Semi finals at Wembley, messing around with the kick off time and the silly premier league not managing to play 38 games by mid May have ruined it for me. That sense of occasion isn't quite there any more. Another thing that amazes me is the number of empty seats 10 minutes into the second half. Your lucky enough to get a ticket for the FA cup final and your more interested in getting a burger?
  12. It was a great day. City have been promoted 5 times in my time watching them. This is the only time I've been there (no doubt the same for many others) to see it. 1984 and 2015 were away from home, 1990 and 1998 we were finally promoted without kicking a ball. Let's hope we're at home when we get promoted to the Premier League!
  13. Left the band before they became famous. A bit like when Water quit Earth, Wind and Fire due to artistic differences.
  14. Glad we got this cleared up. Now, was Mel B really not wearing any knickers when she got her MBE from William?
  15. I think this sums it up for me. As long as we've had our fun, sod everyone else. What about the 50-ish bald headed twonk that started it off? I mean honestly, go and buy a 2 seat sports car or something.
  16. Having been through most of those life stages, I agree with most of the above. I do think that there is a limit to how long people will put up with it being poor, especially at home. It's over 4 years now and we also have a glimpse of the future suggesting that's it's not getting better soon. It's wearing people down. Coupled with the cost of living, the club may get a smack in the chops when it comes to season ticket sales, maybe not so much this time, but this time next year after a hard winter.
  17. I don't think it's just a case of misunderstanding the roles, it's that people don't like the set up. If your plane hits turbulence, you don't want to hear that it's being piloted by cabin crew, and the Pilot is on the ground 150 miles away and the Co-Pilot is on the other side of the world on the end of a phone. There's nothing quite like being part of it to realise how good or bad it is. How long have second hand accounts been glossing over things and telling the Lansdown family what they want to hear? I believe their decisions/perspective is altered because they aren't present enough.
  18. Tough is when you're in division 4, minutes from disappearing with a team of individuals who are mainly just happy to get a game, but giving it everything. What we have now isn't tough, it's crap.
  19. I'd like to see a bit more of this and a bit less of this, absent faceless leadership
  20. That's football, parachute payments aren't fair, half the penalties given these days aren't fair. I know they cheated, but they took their chance, they got there, they found away. By the time we shouted "that's not fair" they were booking trips to Old Trafford and the like and couldn't care less. That's streetwise types do.
