I've seen pictures of the original east end roof in 1912 that look similar to somewhere not far from here today

Thought Kevin Keegan would turn England into world beaters.

He must be on the Grand Tour !

With no new stadium, I would have preferred us to rotate the pitch 90 degrees and/or move the whole thing to the west of the current site. Not sure where we would have played, but 12/13k would have been enough at the time. Others might not be bothered, but I am bothered about the Atyeo. It's not as good as it should be. I want the best, not just that'll do. It's like the team, better but should be even better, come on city !

As a fan of the arts and crafts movement, I'll be fashioning my own card using traditional tools and materials !

Think he might have scored in the penalty shoot out against Mansfield at Wembley. -
Perhaps they've moved into Glamping

Those stats might be right, but as anyone that's needed to help a relative out knows, owning a smartphone and knowing how to use it are different things. I regularly see people struggling with scanning the cards let alone phones. Then you need to ensure you phone is charged, emails working etc. Digitisation isn't for everyone and I hope they keep some alternatives.

It's certainly looking the worst it's been since it was installed, but farmers field, that's a load of old bullocks ! Not so long ago we'd have been delighted with it in August let alone February. Any complaints about the subs bench not having heated seats? -
The linesman on the Dolman side didn't seem capable of flagging for anything and seemed to just wait for instruction from the referee. We've seen this a few times, but last night must have been one of the worst examples I can recall. It was almost as if someone needed to keep tapping him on the shoulder and say "you've got to do something with the flag now".

"it would not be an understatement to say, that Bristol City at this moment are tearing Liverpool apart!" Thanks for the memories Motty. It'll never be the same.

No doubt there will be some reason why it can't happen, but I hope we top that next week.

That was magic. Loved it today, best I've felt at the end of a game for a long time. This team has some real fight in them. Keep on doing that and we won't go far wrong. -
John Cleese to `resurrect` Fawlty Towers
Kingswood Robin replied to Lanterne Rouge's topic in General Chat
There were some bad ones, but there were plenty of gems from the past too. Lately it seems to be endless panel shows with the same old faces, or observational comedy that has lots of observations, but often forgets to be funny. I'm not seeing the quality of the writing anymore. Human frailty in common life situations has often been at the heart of some the best comedy moments. Concerns about how much you can push that frailty these days, along with cost cutting on things like sitcoms means comedy for me has lost it's edge a bit. Laughing at other peoples expense can still be funny, as long as it's all done in the best possible taste ! -
John Cleese to `resurrect` Fawlty Towers
Kingswood Robin replied to Lanterne Rouge's topic in General Chat
How many more anagrams can be made out of Fawlty Towers? If it's to work it has to maintain that cutting humour. I'm not sure John Cleese has the energy or voice for that any more, maybe another character can provide it and John will play more of a disapproving elderly relative. Have many shows have successfully come back, Auf Wiedersehen Pet springs to mind. It must be nearly 50 years since Fawlty Towers finished. Will it be so different that they may as well call it something else? Then again if the writing is strong it could be good regardless. -
My only memory of Wigan is getting stuck in a traffic jam there after being diverted off the M6. While stationary I saw a yoof kicking a dog. Nothing else to report.

wouldn't fancy getting up on the roof now
