  1. Having been through most of those life stages, I agree with most of the above. I do think that there is a limit to how long people will put up with it being poor, especially at home. It's over 4 years now and we also have a glimpse of the future suggesting that's it's not getting better soon. It's wearing people down. Coupled with the cost of living, the club may get a smack in the chops when it comes to season ticket sales, maybe not so much this time, but this time next year after a hard winter.
  2. I don't think it's just a case of misunderstanding the roles, it's that people don't like the set up. If your plane hits turbulence, you don't want to hear that it's being piloted by cabin crew, and the Pilot is on the ground 150 miles away and the Co-Pilot is on the other side of the world on the end of a phone. There's nothing quite like being part of it to realise how good or bad it is. How long have second hand accounts been glossing over things and telling the Lansdown family what they want to hear? I believe their decisions/perspective is altered because they aren't present enough.
  3. Tough is when you're in division 4, minutes from disappearing with a team of individuals who are mainly just happy to get a game, but giving it everything. What we have now isn't tough, it's crap.
  4. I'd like to see a bit more of this and a bit less of this, absent faceless leadership
  5. That's football, parachute payments aren't fair, half the penalties given these days aren't fair. I know they cheated, but they took their chance, they got there, they found away. By the time we shouted "that's not fair" they were booking trips to Old Trafford and the like and couldn't care less. That's streetwise types do.
  6. Lucky Bournemouth fans, what a team they've got. Reaping the benefits of taking their chance when it came along. Unlike us, who twice decided not to answer the door when opportunity came knocking.
  7. Personally I'm a fan of history and encourage all forms of it. Playing devils advocate here, how many people know much more than their grandparents, 1066 and the Great Fire of London? Is the "you don't know where you're going until you know where you've come from" over played? Don't many people of all backgrounds go through life with very little knowledge of their own or their families past? Is the past really the place to look to solve the issues Troy has raised?
  8. Not sure what life's like on the Death Star, but if you think there isn't a cost of living crisis, you must truly be on a different planet. People you see spending lots of money, probably aren't the ones hardest hit.
  9. Or they could be very much living in the real world and struggling like hell, knowing full well that things will get even worse for them.
  10. Who cares. I was referring to our appalling FA cup record, and it is appalling.
  11. An FA cup quarter final, can you imagine? Does it even exist?
  12. I got that as a gift for joining the Junior Reds !
  13. I always liked watching Tony Daley. Pace, could turn defenders inside out and scored some great goals. Would love to see someone like that at city, someone that got you out of your seat when they got the ball.
  14. Think you might be right. Burnleys remaining fixtures look a lot more favourable.
  15. Cheer up, we're due a cup run in 15 years or was that a cup win
  16. They are frustrating us now as we're starting to showing some real promise. That's a massive improvement on boring us to death. On to the next....
  17. Thanks for posting this, I've never seen it before. A lot of finger pointing and pretty unpleasant. How old was Clive Whitehead when they give him an 11 year contract?
  18. My mum used to work there. We always seemed to have a freezer full of them!
  19. If we follow that trend, we could be in for another 17/18 next season (hopefully without the collapse). I'm not saying we're promotion contenders at the moment, but how much better would we look if we could defend crosses? A few good signings could make all the difference. The big thing for me is that I'm now enjoying some of the games as opposed to none of them !
