This all makes sense. Regardless of whether Bents is the better keeper (debatable), Max is number 1, he's got a contract, and Bents wants to go to the Prem. Plus (the crucial point), this relieves some pressure on the wage bill. The fee (£50k?) is nominal, which reflects the importance of getting a high-wage player off the books. It does create a conundrum about who is our back-up, but this can be overcome. I still think that loaning out Bajic was a sensible move, it keeps him happy, gives him games AND puts him in line for the France U21s.
