The man is in a bad way and if they had any decency our Gas friends would not exploit him when he is in a vulnerable state. It's a small scale version of the way people exploited Gazza imo.

I wonder if their season would have gone any better if they`d been able to make a marquee signing in January?
It's odd that they didn't given that:
a) they have a richer owner than us; and
b) they sold their best player for £10m.
Doubtless they will still be coming for us next season though. Be afraid, be very afraid. Or possibly not.

For once an OTIB rumour is scotched with facts, from someone who was actually involved - lawks a lordy, whatever next!
Agreed, down with this sort of thing! It brings the forum into disrepute.

Anyone know how much longer the Gap has to exist, before we can have it declared a Monument and legally protected?
Or a village green perhaps? Plenty of room for walking dogs, the gap is so wide.

If we don't find a 20 goal striker we are down. I suspect next season will be a major struggle with LJ in charge.
Still, thank God we are safe.
Not necessarily. I believe 4 of the top 6 do not have a 20 goal striker. We got to a play-off final without one. 20 goal strikers are rare so having a better defensive record and spreading the goals around the team may be more realistic.

Don't you think it's strange, that suddenly the boys are grinding out results, so what happened for the last 4-5 months then? Good coaching?
I have no idea as I have no inside knowledge so I don't make assumptions then state them as if they were fact. For example, the improvement coincided with JP's departure but that doesn't prove a causal link. I just settle for being pleased with the turnaround.

As I said before, the boys are now playing to stay in the division and not for LJ, Now they know SL won't sack him, they have no choice.
You've spoken to the players I take it? Or are you just making an assumption?

I know it isnt the same situation, but I was merely illustrating how change often has an outcome which didnt achieve what was intended. There was no reason not to retain Rowett, but they knew best.
There were some Brum fans complaining Rowett's football was boring.
Mind you he was also reported to be talking to other clubs while at Brum.

You've probably finished off Wigan there. Feel for Warren Joyce but glad they are going down all in all. Wigan fans are deluded at times.
We have Blackburn away next weekend so I hope we can beat them for you......although I suspect the game which will decide everything is when you go there towards the end of April.
Another great win for you today. I'd make Simon Grayson Championship manager of the year for what he has done with limited resources.

Bannan is a class above we should not be making things that easy for him
No attempt at all to track Wallace, just jogging behind him. Sheer lack of effort inexcusable.

That's the one my son, done a good job wherever he has been. And can put your money on it lansdown didn't even look at him while appointing LJ. Joke really
I'm not sure if he left Burton when we were going well under SC or later but certainly SL was always going to appoint LJ as soon as he had the chance, whatever the competition.

How about a man who has taken Birmingham with no money till edge of playoffs,or stick with a man who's record even in league one is dubious to say the least
That'll be the one who is joint favourite for the Swansea job? The Guardian reported he was talking to Championship clubs while still at Brum. My money's on Norwich.

If you finish below Ipswich you will go down - they were terrible.
Thougn Mick McCarthy hasn't had big money to spend so at least has some excuse.

One thing that has stood out the last several games bar Ipswich is how slow we are getting the ball forward compared to other teams.
We dominated until they scored and then Preston slowed the game down by time wasting. Then they defended well and countered well.
Compare and contrast Huddersfield who play exactly the high tempo pressing and quick passing game LJ said we were going to play. Do we not have the players, are they not fit enough to play that way or has LJ lost his way?

The worse window to try and sign any good players, the only chance of doing this is hopefully finding another Kodjia. Let's hope MA has already earmarked a striker from abroad, who can score goals.
Seems more likely we will sign another 'one for the future '. A tad worrying that we seem to have forgotten about the present in sole pursuit of a long term strategy. I think it was Keynes who responded to that mindset by saying 'Yes, but in the long term we're all dead.'

What happened to the pass and move football LJ wanted to play? Little in the way of passing and bugger all movement.

Fantastic result. I felt problem 1st half was that O'Dowda, Reid and Paterson seemed to be trying to play the same free role, even though it was meant to be Reid I think. When Tomlin is there he seems to command that role.
Fairplay to Johnson for switching it around with the players available to him. He appears to have a great knack for changing things if it's not going to plan. His learning I guess is how he gets it right from the off but for now it's great to know we have a manager and squad willing and able to change things around during the game and apply it.
Rafa commented that we have a coach and players able to change tactics successfully mid game , more than once if necessary, which was why he kept it tight at AG. Praise indeed.

Not at all. I was thinking the same thing when you posted the first time and almost responded then. It's a valid question but Reid's growing propensity to get goals from midfield makes it a real teaser. Have to say on balance that LJ has made the right call on this issue thus far.
My preference is for 2 holding players but goalscoring midfielders are priceless so I'm not dissing Bobby at all. I'm glad LJ is less cautious than me!

I'd be really tempted to try Taylor Moore in that position because for me neither Pack nor Reid offer enough in the tackle.
LJ has said he can play there of course.

Can't they just buy 2 tier, Championship ready tents and double their capacity? Seems just as logical: if you erect the tents they will come and all that.
