Astonishing outburst. He might struggle to survive that.

I also find it rather odd that he chose to directly compare them to us. We are literally not in their league. They are competing with other L1 clubs, not us, so that should be his frame of reference. If money was no object for all the other L1 clubs he might have a point...but Rovers are currently lower in the table than megaclubs such as Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury.

It suggests he has an unhealthy obsession with us that is distracting him from the job in hand.

He also seems to have failed to notice that we have sold the likes of Kodjia and Reid without LJ throwing his toys out of the pram.

Furthermore that the financial gap between us and big clubs in our own league is likely rather bigger than the gap between them and most clubs in theirs.

He said it was his fault because he had recruited the players, but then went on to say that too many of them were in their "comfort zone". How comfortable can they possibly be in their current predicament? Perhaps it's down to the lack of competition for places?

In pretty much every post match interview he starts by saying it's his responsibility then makes it clear he doesn't mean it by slagging off the players.

  3. 'Think you’re overlooking the major fact that we keep selling our best players and goal scorers.

Very difficult to replace for a fraction of the fees we receive. Not sure anyone could replace Harrison Taylor Bodin etc for the money we’ve spent (200k Payne, 350k Nichols, Bennett 0 but let’s say 100k for extra wages and signing on fee).'

    Reid sold for £10m

    Weimann bought for £2m

    Fraction of fee 20%

Haha, lets not get carried away. Yes we looked good, but that is first complete performance of this season, now we need to build on it. Also LJ had a bit of luck in Watkins having to go off, and COD coming on to play much better than he was.

    Brilliant day though ?

Complete performances are rare, most teams will do well to get a handful in a season.

The key is to pick up points from the incomplete ones.

Been told this morning Wael's close to selling Rovers having met with new "investors" last night.

Clearly he's looked at the club and realised there's no new stadium potential (they even tried doing The Mem up and f***** that up), no new training ground and they're out of their training ground at the end of this season, and no hope at all.

Lets hope the new "investors" are as rich as the last ones ?

Just in time for them to spend big. There's a striker at Salford they have an eye on, though wages may be a problem.

Here's the problem - People will make comments like this. At CB we have Wright, Baker, Taylor, Hegeler, Webster, and Kelly why would we sign another? Kelly played today and was one of our best players. RB we have Pisano and Hunt as well as Wright who can deputise there and a youngster in Pring who played there a few times for Hereford. Other people moaning about LB well we have signed Dasilva to play there but he only 1st trained with us 24hours before the Plymouth game so obviously wasn't quite ready yet.

Because Kelly was earmarked for left back and the others are injury prone. Hegeler in addition seems unlikely to play for us again, assuming he is ever fit.

We sold 2 centre backs, sent one out on loan and brought one in, a net reduction of 2.

Guess you didn’t read the threads then

That didn't happen until after the injuries struck. We sold 2 centre backs and sent another on loan, LJ said Kelly wasn't ready to play there so we were left with 4 injury prone players for the 2 positions.

Once Webster was signed I don't recall any cries for us to sign another despite the risk that we would end up in this position.

    Boos at halftime.

We sold the spine of the team, what do we honestly expect?

We are poor and you can sense the drop in energy levels.

It’s flatter than a pancake here today. It’s sad really.

And we made a considerable profit on transfers. People tend to forget that a, if not the, key part of the strategy is to improve the club's financial position. SL seems to have put his foot down on that this summer.

Whoever the head coach is they will have to live with that constraint.
