  1. Hes applied 3 times, by all accounts. Most recently, when LJ went… Which made SL’s comments about how well he was doing at Coventry on his last appearance on Radio Bristol even more laughable.
  2. They may be in an FA Cup semi final, but don’t forget…… We beat Southampton.
  3. ‘Stiff hamstring’ for Williams, and a pretty pointed ‘get behind the lads’ comment from Manning. That’s a what we call a double pre-match zinger.
  4. Yes. He’s in a lot of v serious pain with his injury.
  5. Williams injured, Twine clearly still not fit as there’s no way he’d be on the bench if they were confident he was totally fine.
  6. Naismith still ‘just a bit stiff’? Tanner still just a week away?
  7. This is a story of one, and of a much lesser sporting nation vs England when it comes to football, but I lived in Australia as a kid for a few years and was told after my first training session at the team I joined (would’ve been 7 or 8 at the time) that for my build at that age and the fact I was left footed I NEEDED to consider being a left back in the future (was a striker at the time, who wasn’t…). Also highly recommended I joined the basketball team as well because I was tall for my age, and something to do with my running style too. Maybe I was just really bad… Low and behold, I ended up being a left back at about 15/16, a key age especially as someone on the periphery of academies at the time too, cause I’d lost any speed advantage I had once puberty had properly hit everyone, but was far too late to learn something so different so fast. Found it all odd as ****, naturally, but in hindsight it’s an extremely interesting and useful take vs the ‘do whatever you enjoy’ type approach we have here.
  8. Who was it who started the thread that Semenyo can’t be a forward because he doesn’t score??
  9. From a quick glance, Looks like price increases across the board? £40 extra for me in the South Stand anyway.
  10. Heard it’s nothing to do with being in ‘pre season’ mode. He has injury troubles. Do they think we’d really believe he’s been ‘pre season training’ without it being plastered all over the clubs twitter & ‘uncut’ videos??? Has torn hamstring written all over it before the end of 2024.
  11. No really good coach. Quality of coaching within the academy was very poor after Luke Williams left for MK until he came in, let’s put it that way!
  12. Can’t believe Forest Green ******* Rovers have the blessing of Steve Cotterill in charge, with Umbro as kit manufacturer too. ******* joke. Save some happiness & luck for the rest of us.
  13. Joint lead coach role (aka both are head coach, like the Cowley brothers at Lincoln etc). Mickey was in charge of the 16s but moved up to 18s. Have heard from a few people that they are moving up to take over the 21s next season though.
  14. They were waiting until we won a game to post it, same as ST news for next season. Is the only explanation that makes it make a smidge of sense!!
  15. Rovers would’ve taken more. Wait hang on….
  16. Is it right that he said we want the new mobile, strong, can hold a ball up 9 is to be our plan B - and not to play alongside Tommy? He also said they’re expensive before and that we are probably going to have to get one from abroad. So on the one hand, we’re saying we can’t compete financially and don’t have the funds, and on the other hand we have a shed load of money available for a substitute striker? That also suggests we’re going down the ‘playing with two number 10s’ route. Yet we brought in a winger & have an option to buy on him. And broadly speaking, our best academy products atm are wide men, so that doesn’t fit their pathway one bit. Basically everything they’ve said publicly recently, there’s some sort of contradiction on. And it’s not even anything technical or hard to explain!
  17. off to Sal Grosso in Lisbon tonight. Have to say, here and Porto have been eye opening in terms of quality of food at such insanely low prices.
  18. So who is Liam learning from? Managers who beat him? Cause it sure as hell isn’t anyone at the club, is it!
  19. And also, why take Yeboah, one of the 18s best players, out of the u18s and say he is ‘part of the first team now’ at the start of the season???
  20. This is exactly how I feel. Nothing personal one bit. I almost feel a bit sorry for him. However he was a big contributor to the absolute shambles of last October, so he is reaping what was sown atm. however, The fact that SL thinks we can run a club of this size with ONE person responsible for the day to day running of the football club is absolutely insane. Theres probably 4x as many people in the media & matchday content teams as there are in the senior football operation department atm. Said yesterday, but let Tinns be head of academy or something similar, and employ 2 or 3 senior, experienced football operators for footballing department. Oh, and actually hire a CEO. I am absolutely convinced that Steve ordered this as some sort of ‘reassurance for the fans’ piece, after rocking up on Sunday to see the place basically empty, the football nothing like he said it would be, and the atmosphere horrific.
