Hull City at home match thread

Tinnion, forehead covered in sweat, currently longingly eyeing up Rosenior. How they’ve started is exactly what the club thought hiring Manning would turn us into overnight -
Walked past the old pasta loco site yesterday, sign on the door says a new Thai tapas place opening there soon.

Senior Reds today, guest Jon Lansdown

Sounds like the exact same vibe as the hen & chicken then. Set the stall out early that there’s almost no point in even asking any questions, get shit answers regardless, go home thinking what’s the ******* point. I used to find genuine intrigue in this stuff, in hindsight due to how the manager or seniors spoke rather than anything actually club related, now I really couldn’t even care less if I tried. -
Have heard they’ve both got the sack after yesterdays loss

I’ve said it many times, but I really do find it interesting the amount of weight that is put on that Wolves game. Lose one game late on at the end of December, and that causes us to fall apart for an entire second half of a season? Maybe the team wasn’t half as good as we thought, if that’s the case.

It’s poaching season - Stoke appoint Schumacher

Can only assume it’s because it’s closer to Liverpool & money. No one is going to change that club, yet so many keep trying. -
Think there’s a fair few off field things he’s been reprimanded on, yet still continues to do (I.e doesn’t listen/take the lectures seriously) which is why he’s been cut adrift. Would be a club decision, I’d imagine, so LM made aware of it.

City’s Academy / u23s - less than 4 years ago
petehinton replied to Davefevs's topic in Football Chat
And exactly why Tinnion was spot on with “the first objective is to make them a first team footballer with us, the second is to make them a league footballer somewhere else”. Is why I lose no sleep over the likes of Towler and Low being ‘let go’ ‘early’. They’re out forging careers and establishing themselves as very competent league one footballers aged 20 & 21. Fantastic. Really brilliant stories. Is that better than Joe Morrell being handcuffed to the club, making ONE league start for us, spending 4 seasons on loan at different clubs, and then finally settling in league one aged 24? Every day of the week. The goal should be as much having players talking about as “they came through at Bristol City’s academy? Wow they must be decent then”, as it is “wow Bristol City have a load of academy players in the first team, don’t they?” -
Think it’s becoming very clear that the deal for O’Neills is a pretty poor one all round, so desperately trying to take any cash from the higher level value sponsorships wherever possible, even to the detriment of the ‘brand’. The watches of bath sleeves on the home shirt look even worse than amateur, don’t see stuff that poorly designed even on a Sunday leave side.

Yep. Grinding games out under pearson = lucky, bad. Grinding games out under manning = well organised, good. & ironically all the Pearson comparisons seemingly all come from those who were not in the “cult of Nige” yet more obsessed with bringing him up vs his most loyal of fans!

Said at the time, he was absolutely insane (even a bit stupid) to take that job. -
A game we might’ve lost, but also might’ve won, under LJ A game we might’ve lost, but also might’ve won, under Holden A game we might’ve lost, but also might’ve won, under Pearson A game we won, but might end losing in future similar type games under Manning it’s almost as if every game in football is different, and trying to draw these types of comparisons to fit any sort of narrative is slightly tiresome and pointless (Imo)

Just a horrible gut feel, not much more. I can’t see us coping with Jobe, Clarke & Pritchard. -

I have a really horrible feeling we could take a real beating today. -
Truly amazed at all the pathetic “day tripper” comments - all the tickets have been sold to ST holders ffs

**** me, saying he took sykes and knight off purely because of opinion & no running stat/precautionary stuff, and all his subs are based on opinion and nothing else, makes me even more baffled and confused at the ones he’s made in the games so far -
**** me I am literally crying in the club right now
-
I do think he was first choice, and was pretty much always who they had their eye on to replace Pearson, whenever that would be
-
Basically a reflection of how we’ve been as an entire team for the last 4 weeks!
-
That is genuinely baffling to me.
-
God bless him. And he wasn’t even on the list of targets!
