  1. Dave Barton gotta have the easiest job at the club imo. Just advise everyone to say no to anything they’re asked to comment on. Absolute dream!
  2. How the **** can’t you even accept 3 lines of very weak basic questioning from Ed Hadwin, just how bad is their reasoning that they can’t even handle that confidently
  3. Deary deary me, what a bunch of jellyfish
  4. Do you seriously think doing that would’ve made any difference to the decision that was made yesterday?
  5. Always been sceptical of that, have said on here before. Semenyo and Scott fell into our laps, with no scouting or connections/developments. I know that’s the two northern stars, but seemingly the two he gets lauded with credit for. Kelly was sold for huge cash largely down to his England appearances, as he was shunted out of position by LJ. HPC set up has helped with the integration between ages and first team. A large amount of recent academy success is down to the management of bringing them in to first team exposure at the right time, for the right players. Not just arranging them to go out on (numerous) loan.
  6. Coming back to this, I think the public thanks and love toward him from nearly every player who played under him at the club currently, or those that moved onto the premier league, says it all. vs the Joking, pathetic celebration of him leaving from a fully grown man who’s an u21 physio, now doing work for non-league Nailsea & Tickenham… I know which one holds more respect and weight for me, and probably everyone in the world of football.
  7. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/nigel-pearson-bristol-city-showdown-8867498 Two key bits for me when trying to use his health against him…. “He replied: “Sometimes you get international breaks and it’s that sort of stage where things can happen. If you get a phone call on a Sunday after the game when the international break starts, you know you’ve got a bit of a problem.” He wasn’t speaking hypothetically, Bristol Live understands that Pearson did receive exactly such a phone call from a member of the City hierarchy on the Sunday after the 2-1 defeat at Leeds United, in which his position was discussed, primarily around his health, and whether he thought it wise to continue in the long term. Unsurprisingly, the manager rejected any such assertions and so began an international break of sometimes uncomfortable discussions between the 60-year-old, his representatives and various individuals of influence at City: technical director Brian Tinnion, chief operating officer Tom Rawcliffe and Bristol Sport CEO Gavin Marshall.” And the board thinking they know more than the professionals…. “Others thought differently, believing that lack of visibility of the manager to the players naturally had an impact on their sharpness and concentration. There were also concerns over the time off given to the players over each international break, with nine days afforded in September and October. That was deemed too much and there were claims (naturally rejected) that it left the players under-conditioned for when the league programme resumed.”
  8. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12996039/nigel-pearson-sacked-by-bristol-city-results-far-from-only-issue-behind-veteran-bosses-departure the most perfect summation
  9. A Cardiff fan who basically refuses to acknowledge academies exist, a man who’s had one season at this level and finished below us in 17th, and a man who’s last 2 (maybe even 3) clubs have had fans chanting that the football is shit. I see none as an understandable upgrade or change on what we had. I’ve said I’d personally try out luck for Carsley at the FA. Probably get knocked back, then test the nerve of Portsmouth and Oxford for Mousinho/Manning respectively.

    The Return

Which exactly shows why the “we’re expecting promotion” line is complete shite. If you don’t want to go all out for the best, only the cheapest and quickest, you don’t get the best.

    The Return

Him, along with Eustace, scream to me that they’re good options because they’re available and free, nkt because they’re what we want and are the best fit. Would we be trying hard for either if they were still in jobs and we had to pay compensations? I’d be amazed.
  12. I’ll tell you now, they will absolutely HATE the public show of appreciation that all the players are posting on their social tonight.
  13. Podcast episode, which is a recording of our 1.5 hour long twitter spaces chat earlier, is published and available on all the usual places: https://linktr.ee/osibpodcast?fbclid=PAAabzpC-bXA1qmKiuromP_toVVs53c1Z9B2_BXD67B5o6ADG02zft3QhEprk_aem_Ac2MeAYgUYm8fAOChf7JBCHRPf6FArb2REIrqLcdjLpn0DBxDbDX7tx5Av9xhynAkxk Cheers, enjoy!
  14. Pretty depressing list of options to me. None have any sustained periods of success, or any sign that they’d be better than what Pearson would’ve been able to achieve with more players back from injury. Rowett would be the most depressing appointment of the lot for me. Really would be.
  15. Episode has been published all, should be live and with you in half an hour or so
  16. He’s had a lot of interest. Would take a minor miracle for him to sign a new deal here.
  17. I’d edge toward the latter, imo. Kalifa Cisse part of the interim coaches when he hasn’t coached for about 2 seasons. Really sums it up.
  18. We are uploading it to podcast form. I believe you shouldn’t need a twitter to listen on that link tho
  19. **** me. Like choosing what STI to catch.
  20. link here to listen back, all. We will, all being well, upload it into podcast Form too
  21. We’ve just hosted our own OSIB one - link here to listen back.
