  1. Not doubting this fully….but I truly find it unimaginable that they would tell someone to their face that they arent their number 1 choice, and basically will you just stick around whilst we try and convince the other guy, and if we can’t we’ll come back to you. You’d just tell them where to stick the job.
  2. Joe’s tweets have now been deleted, which he has done loads and loads of times when putting something ‘ITK’
  3. Can i just shock you all, I have actually always dreamed of supporting a club thats full name is “famous ex pro’s & former childhood hero’s Bristol City”. And I’ve always loved our games being moved to be live on Sky, especially every other weekend. This is like a Black Mirror episode
  4. now you’re speaking my language. More of a Naked noodles man myself, the Chinese flavour. Superb. Although I’m still full from last nights coronation curry house Madras.
  5. On matchday -1, the busiest day of the week at a training ground with loads of people running around the place, pretty ballsy if true!!!
  6. Didn’t you say yesterday he’s going to America?
  7. Can’t drink the stuff anymore mate. Horrific night on frosty jacks/strongbow when I was 17, just a sip of the stuff makes me feel now. Camden Hells boy now. What a drink.
  8. I’m absolutely loving this. Battle of the sources. Battle of the media vs the fans. I’m sticking the kettle on
  9. I’ve no dog in this fight really, but what I would say is this would make a bit of a mockery of the claims of being sustainable etc, imagine his (and his coaches) salaries. No doubt he’d be the highest paid in history, by some distance too. However, we all know Lansdowns have had an edge towards vanity projects, this would tick that box, and it would help with investment and also sky cash too. I personally can’t see it at all, but either the rumours have picked up because it’s true, or because it’s being ran with from one source that could be either misinformed or on a wind up. I’d say if it is true then it would be breaking publicly from multiple people tonight/tomorrow.
  10. Why would he feel the need to do that? It’s not his fault that the news is the way it is. He also has no social media.
  11. They weren’t, two of the northern stars….. but it just kicks the can down the road for me. We then had to spend £5.5m on a replacement striker for Tammy after leaving, and leaving a huge hole up top, and to re-sign Kalas to fill the hole that he left cost us £9m. What would have been the point in us signing Jake O’Brien on loan, where Pearson explains it would’ve been costing around £300k loan fee, and an additional £5k a week on top of paying his full weekly wages too? Because over the last 2 seasons, thats the sorts of areas and deals we’d be looking at. We can’t be cutting our cloth, trimming the wage bill massively, and then out laying fees for 6 month/12 month loans that are more expensive than a lot of our permanent signings that we can a) spread the cost of over a 3 year contract and b) make a profit on from selling them thereafter!
  12. It won’t fit the narrative, but yep. Injured foot from a heavy challenge in training, tbat Nige openly admitted was one that was avoidable. Shit happens. I really think they saw blaming and using the players rest / injuries narrative as their silver bullet. But they’ve massively backed themselves into a corner here. JL doubling down on it in this interview is him saying it’s a huge reason why they’ve done it. Takes fans about 2 minutes to go through the injuries and work out that it doesn’t add up at all, they’re acting like we’re stupid. If that is their reason - why sack the manager, and one of the assistants? Why not just Rennie? Why was Andy Rolls & Keith Downing not sacked along with Holden when he got the bullet? It’s all very 2+2=5 however you try and work it out to have some sort of logic behind it.
  13. Oh no, my manager won’t spend millions on a player for 10 months who may help us move from 12th to 8th, whatever will we do. It really isn’t that mind boggling a decision, if you have actually listened or read his very detailed explanations as to why we hadn’t utilised loans (after he tried exploring about 3 players to bring in on loan). I for one are delighted that LJ brought in loans like Benkovic, Diony, Kent, Periera, and utilised free agents like Marinvoic and Rodri. They really kicked us on in terms of league position and were in no ways a waste of cash.
  14. James was also match, So that’s 8 out of 11. And tbh, wouldn’t even count Harv in that as he has never played for the first team really. So 8 out of 10 done in games…Ayman a freak ACL injury to start with as well. Incredibly harsh to try and basically say you don’t think players should get any injuries, ever.
  15. Was due to Martin leaving for Swansea, wasn’t it?
  16. I found that comment from JL cheap, tbh. Maybe the majority did, why not sack him then? We then went on an exceptional run, made yet more progress on cutting costs and improving the squad by getting Bentley, Martin, JD (basically) out the door. Semenyo sold for £10m. I really don’t see how saying “yeah well 10 months ago it wasn’t great”, well….it’s no longer 10 months ago, is it? A very weak “told you so” type. Been said thousands of times, but you’ll never get every signing spot on. And all those you’ve listed are extremely, extremely cheap ones.
  17. Also forgot to flag Tinnion was at Oxford Exeter earlier in the season too, so that’s a good 3 times minimum he’s actively seen them play in the flesh. May even have been at Oxford Rovers too.
  18. Nothing would’ve happened before Saturday as they have a game, as do we. I said yesterday, but imo think there’s positive signs for this to be a goer for Piercy to break the news himself. Club will feel confident it can be done & he’s keen, will have given the green light for him to post it etc.
  19. An open goal scrambler that needs to be asked too… So Jon, your most senior medical professional has left whilst lots of injuries still remain. We saw 4 players return to full training this week, so who’s making the decisions on players training & return to match days now?
  20. Curtis said yesterday, the structure of the time off was exactly the same as they’ve done over the past 2 years. Funny how it’s suddenly an issue now, when Pearson isn’t being issued a new contract, but it wasn’t 18 months ago when it wouldve been more expensive to pay them all off.
  21. Really glad to hear Jon’s thoughts on the strength & conditioning decisions too, forgot that was his area of expertise, and forgot there are people at the club more qualified to comment than PHD Dave Rennie
  22. “We’re not going to line someone up whilst someone’s still in charge, we have morals” Ah so that’s why SO’D was near enough given the job at half time of McInnes’ last game then
  23. I found the comms comments, and there were a lot of them, shots definitely fired at Dave Barton. I wonder if we could be looking at another departure.
  24. Two things that have worried me - “with our structure, we don’t need a CEO” - “we have the ability to be able to outperform our budget“ 1. There isn’t a structure or set up in the world that would lead you to not need someone as CEO or overall leader. Marshall being CEO of the Bristol Sport, so “i guess by default is CEO of football when needed” is absolutely crazy. 2. There isn’t a football club in the world thinking “really wish we would be underperforming vs our budget”. They seemingly expected, or are craving the narrative of, to be guaranteed promotion in Nige’s final year (this season). To still think that without putting any consideration around the last 2 transfer windows, and the fact the bloke had to work under 4 different CEOs in 2.5 years, is absolutely fairyland stuff.
  25. Money, size of club, bigger fanbase; quality of stadium and training ground, squad… Is why I didn’t think Mousinho would be a goer. Portsmouth have all of that.
