As a lot of you would have seen in previous posts my Wife went into a Care Home 8 months ago due to Dementia & Alzheimers.  The Home has been fantastic for her and she has progressed really well.  She went into Hospital in May for a couple of weeks to the Neurology Dept where they assessed her condition and changed all her medication etc.  The change in her has been amazing.  Also the Physiotherapy she has received now has her walking with a stick whereas before she was wheelchair bound.

She has progressed so well that after discussion with her Doctors etc we decided she deserved another chance at trying to lead a normal life so brought her home 3 weeks ago.  It hasn't been easy and she has her moments but generally speaking so far so good and long may it continue.

Good luck Tone - I am dealing with my own mum and my wife's mum ATM, both have dementia and both have very different needs.

My own mum has just moved to a new home and for the first time they have managed her pain meds properly, this has resulted in a complete change in character. unfortunately she needs nursing care 24/7 so being at home is no longer an option

It will be tough at times, but the fact that you will be in more familiar surroundings will help I hope.

    stay strong mate.

The disconnect is our midfield. Knight is brilliant at breaking up play but what do we do with it.

I know people will shoot me down but it's my opinion we need to improve and ultimately replace James. He's too slow and cumbersome, he always commits to his credit. He also tries long passes that don't often come off but atleast he's trying something. We need a ball carrier or a play maker of some kind. Same with Weimann. He's not a midfielder and seems to have lost that pressing edge he used to have. TGH needs more games because he atleast tries to make things happen. However, he's not the complete answer. We need a new CM addition in Jan as I can't see any in our squad injured or not that can progress us.

We defend well, look for options to progress find out there isn't any recycle the ball. We do this very slowly and allow the opposition to reset. Do this a couple of times. Get frustrated hit it long or try a Hollywood pass and lose possession. When we play quickly and burst down the wings on occasions and get a ball in the box we have limited success.

There has been alot of talk about Conway but he's feeding off scraps. I think if he had more opportunities presented to him he'd put them in the back of the net.

if you take james out of the equation IMO that will just leave us exposed defensively. his reading of the game is excellent, and his positional sense shows. we focus on Knight because of his brilliant energy and movement but don't underestimate what James brings to the side.

in time (if we keep him) Bachman Turner Overdrive could play a vital part of the midfield alongside Knight but at the moment he looks a little 'green' to my eyes.

We could absolutely do with a creative MF - but Scott was not of this world (or at least division) his overall tracking back aand tackling were unbelievable, add to that his forward passing and we were lucky to have him, before him we have had a fair few players (Palmer, Tomlin *shudder*) who could turn  it on, but more often were passengers (to the frustration of many on here) so that creative role is a tough one.

Davidson and his comments interest me tbh. Paraphrasing.

"Whoever came into that scenario would have had to have won the next 10 games on the bounce to have won everyone over, including the press".

Are fans more patient now, less patient now. Was Davidson wrong?

i may be wrong, but was SL finance director at this time? this was the start of his 'land grab' of all things City

  4. what date did you set up last (prev) season? - ie is this 12 months from when you set it up? (i know it's prob not that, but just asking)

and did you renew in this last close season?

they have had issues with the refunds that caused a lot of shite to happen, but not seen this - smells like more of the same incompetence i'm afraid.

  5. good luck to him. i liked his honesty and work ethic.

I know we now 'move on' but still feel bitter and angry at the useless Lansdown man child and his invisible interfering father. people like NP and CF just shine a light on their devious ineptitude.

    Thanks Mr Fleming.

  6. can i suggest a new verb to be "Lansdowned' ?

it's not unlike paying to be mugged by a clown, you start with a sense of wonder, distraction and excitement at the bright colours and face paint, happy to hand over your hard earned cash,  but rapidly you are left with a sense of anger and frustration, only to find out some time later what you have lost exactly.

wow. if you honestly think this is an accurate reflection of the invaluable job James has done these past 2 seasons,

    are you Le petomane reincarnated?

“We’re not going to line someone up whilst someone’s still in charge, we have morals”

Ah so that’s why SO’D was near enough given the job at half time of McInnes’ last game then 🤣🤣🤣

i think this and many other historic examples of them ******* it up are why i am so totally fed up.

They are scrambling to patch together a web of excuses and contradictory bullsh1t to cover this current situation up, but they seem to forget all the other instances of ******* stupid decisions made by the Lansdowns over a considerable period. The pattern of idiocy is the thing, they are repeating it over and over. It's just that Steve has handed it over to his under equipped son who seems to be basically a human shield. when do we hear from Steve i wonder.

"Judge me on Tinnion" - maybe that was actually a really long gameplan eh Steve? he forgot 'eventually' though...

I'm thinking the final question could have been.....

So Brian, you, Jon and Steve believe the squad of players is good enough. You will choose the person to lead them to at least the playoffs.

If he doesn't, will all 3 of you admit you failed and got it badly wrong and leave Bristol City?

do you remember the Lansdown quote back in the day "judge me on Tinnion"

Well, Tinnion crashed and burned, absolutely nothing happened but  several managerial trainwrecks later we are here - so to answer, No, SL is full of shit, will never take the rap

  10. oh my, the Tinnion interview just adds an extra layer of sadness, anger and frustration.

Just saying we want to play on the front foot over and over again doesn't make it happen, Brian, if we have no fit central defenders do you not think that might impede that philosophy just a little? do you not recognise that we WERE playing just like that before an already wafer thin squad was hit by a seriously long injury list.

nothing, i mean NOTHING that came out of his mouth helped there, WTF where the club thinking that these two interviews were going to do.

    Andy king? Cheap easy option!

sadly i don't see King staying, too closely associated with Nige.

i have a really bad feeling re Nathan Jones - please god no. - but the luton link scares me, as SL has them as his current bedroom poster wannabee wet dream team.

Dave, that bit about the fall out being caused by a row over bringing in free agents, such players would be experienced such that he wouldn't have to "expose the youngsters". What would Nige's objection be? Unless he wanted the free agents and the ****s wouldn't cough up the cash.

i think previously he'd not wanted to use Free agents as they weren't ultimately part of the bigger plan, i assume the better ones wouldn't play on super short contracts - Take Klose for example - he was good for a handful, but very quickly wasn't ! Simpson another.

That strategy of course contradicts the Lansdowns previously stated 'pillars' bollocks, and they will have forgotten that no doubt.

for better or worse, Pearson was/is a stubborn minded manager, which has runheadlong  into the lansdowns ineptitude at 100 mph on this occasion.

  13. cheers - i'd like to think we have a functioning 'board' - but thats not entirely accurate i think.

SL has a small group of cronies which is a fundamentally unhealthy way to  operate a business, as painfully shown by this situation.

    it’s getting embarrassing  😂

as a previous poster said (and nailed it)  if he wanted to leave a legacy of bricks and mortar why not build a ******* Hospital - The Lansdowns tenure of this club is one of footballing failure (and I would argue financial failure, given the debts he has encumbered the club with) - SL is a fool to think that football ownership doesn't come with a sustained commitment to spending in order to build for success. unless your strategy is merely survival, which seems pointless.

(or of course he saw the whole thing as a financial strategy, a long game to sell off his 'brand vision' but for that to work "like Barcelona" you need to have a team like....Barcelona!)

    FFS.

They probably think we’ll get an east 6 points and it will be justified.

    1) do they know the championship?

    2) do they know how many players we have fit?

    😡😡😡

it seems so horribly obvious they just wanted him out regardless. The gutless way they have gone about it makes it worse.

We'll no doubt get all the usual bullshit about a top class field of applicants again and then see Tinnion made manager.

    so utterly demoralising

When a chairman / owner comes out and “backs the manager” publically, it’s usually seen as the death knell

accepted, but there a hundred ways to show support and more importantly understanding of the situation at the moment. we haven't heard a peep...on anything....

i know we all like to get in a lather from time to time (ooh err missus) but the prolonged silence from the owner and his lackeys is odd would you not say - esp given Alexanders departure and Pearsons statement ( which can be interpreted in many ways i'll admit)

Sorry mate, I’m sure you’re a true city fan, but that’s totally over the top.  How many clubs would send their owner out to discuss an injury crisis?  Lots of guess work here, and “a spineless lack of leadership”?  Really?  How do you know what goes on inside the club?

There’s no ugly situation, just a side struggling with an awful injury crisis.

but where's the leadership? surely the chairman, albeit a mouthpiece for the owner,  needs to give some support for the manager & team - it's a conspicous silence.

we have a very faceless and voiceless leadership - CEO's and COO's and lord knows what, it feels like Pearson is being isolated.
