  1. A fantastic move, and one the should help the national team.. It would be great to see Kane move their aswell, not sure if he has the drive or ambition of Bellingham though.
  2. Looks another astute signing by Pearson and the board, the squad is shaping up nicely!
  3. Christ, just when you think things couldn’t get any worse after the dire home and third kits! What a shocking decision by the club to go with O’neills, truly embarrassing.
  4. I went CM but the more i think about it the more I’m in agreement with others in that we are very light in the GK department. Max has done fine and is improving but it only takes an injury to him and we would be left in a difficult situation.
  5. Living in fantasy land if you think he would agree to that.. I personally think he will stay but you can’t knock him for seeing what other options are out there. At 30 this is likely going to be his last big ish contract so it will be one he will want to get right from a financial point of view irrespective of how much he may like the club or living in Bristol.
  6. How many years did we sign with O'neills?
  7. Says a lot about the character of Pearson IMO. As you said one shouldn’t speculate on health matters but he strikes me as a man that isn’t a quitter and once he starts a project will want to see it out. He probably knew from the get go that if he could navigate the first couple of years, and once the club finds itself on a better financial footing that he has a real chance to do something special here..
  8. It would be a tremendous move for him. I actually think we could see some interest/ a bid from Dortmund or potentially another similar sized club on the continent for Scott. We would be naive to think that it has only been Premier league clubs keeping tabs on him.
  9. Not knocking them celebrating mucker but for me the chant of ‘champions of Europe’ should always be reserved for the full European champions/champions league winners (in new money). Call me a miserable git but that’s how I’ve always seen it! But yes you are quite right, the highlight for me so far has probably been us winning a freight rover or lifting the League one trophy under cotts so i should probably wind my neck in ???
  10. It was the ‘champions of Europe we know what we are’ chants from the West ham fans that did make me cringe a bit.. you have won the conference league not the champions league lads, calm down ?? Fair play to them though, happy for Moyes ?
  11. Definitely some ‘improvements’ but still looks horrendous IMO.. I’d love to know the official sales figures for this shirt at the end of the season - I cannot see the club shifting many to be fair!
  12. Totally agree with all of that. I think it goes back to what many fans have wanted for years and that is a proper football manager who has experience and pedigree within the game. You look at all of the most successful managers and all of them know/realise that you need good people around you to help you do your job. It has unfortunately taken Steve many years to realise the above and is IMO why we haven’t reached the heights that we should have. We have been so amateurish for years and years, from the training facilities down to the poor personnel that have been employed by the club. Thankfully it seems that Steve and the board have realised this and we are now making huge strides. The training ground is now fit for purpose, the academy is flourishing and we now seem to have the correctly qualified and experienced people in and around the first team. Even if Pearson isn’t the man to take us to the next level, at least the foundations are now in place to hopefully allow it to happen in the not too distant future.
  13. Can’t say i know too much about him but in Nige we trust! ?

    Cardiff

Lets hope so. I can’t envisage anything other than another season of struggle for Cardiff next season to be honest.
  15. Awful to see it in black and white to be fair, as others have said with the average gates we are pulling in now at home the fanbase really deserves better. Considering the absolute shit we have had to put up with to still average 20k and over at home is unbelievable support. The only hope it does give you is we must surely be one of the stand out clubs in this country for outside investment. Everything at the football club is in place and for an owner/owners who really want to take a club forward we have to be a fantastic proposition.
  16. Echo what others have said, a good deal for everyone concerned. Jay in reality had become a squad player for us, with Pring having performed consistently better than him over the last year or so it wouldn’t make financial sense to be offering him the 4 year deal Cov have on i’d imagine fairly strong wages.
  17. Just shows how broken the judicial system is in this country when Child abusers and rapists are getting less sentences then somebody facilitating streaming of football matches.
  18. Not sure if i buy into the narrative that the division will be tougher next season to be honest. Admittedly the teams coming down and with two traditionally big clubs in Ipswich and Sheff Weds it does appear to be stronger if you are going off names and past reputation. However like people have said all of the 3 clubs coming down look to be in massive disarray, i can see all 3 struggling next season to be honest.
  19. And this is the sort of attitude/mindset that is the exact reason we have underachieved for so many years. Far too many un ambitious numpties that follow this club.

    Top 3 up?

Yeah mental idea to scrap them IMO, even though we as a club have never had any luck in going up via the play-offs we have had arguably some of our most memorable games in them. Palace and Hartlepool spring to mind!
  21. Nice to see it in black and white.. I’m guessing the 8 k figure doesn’t include the 30 k they have locked out every week..!
  22. Love a pitch invasion, 99% of fans are well behaved in my experiences but always going to get that 1% who are going to try and take a cheap shot at an official or player. In reality there is no way to police it though. Unless we want to go back to fences encircling the pitches not a lot else can be done IMO.

    Playoffs

Madness that, fair play to them.
  24. Great post and my thoughts exactly. Even in 2007/08 when at that juncture we still weren’t bound by FFP Steve Lansdown still it seemed wanted to adopt a more conservative cautious approach to things when in reality a bit more heavy investment in that era probably would have seen us over the line and getting to the Premier League. Im fully in agreement and also think its the early years of Lansdown’s ownership here that IMO has cemented the fact that for me that he hasn’t ‘wanted’ it enough. I think it has all been mainly soundbites from Steve about wanting to get to the Prem and now in recent years he has had the FFP to hide behind/use as an excuse. Its frustrating and of course it is ‘his club and he can do what he likes’ (his words not mine remember) but when you look at other clubs as you pointed out Reading and Wigan being good examples and Brighton more recently with Mr Bloom, it all points to unfortunately our owner being fairly content with Championship football and never really wanting to push the boat out and go for it. Fair play to Luton and Cov, yes we are in a better place off the field no doubt than both of them but it’s on the pitch that matters and it will be another club that we will see reach the Premier League before us in the last 2 decades or so.
  25. I think you are right kid, one thing is for sure SL would have had a big say on Holdens appointment. We also need to remember that Tinnion and Millen were appointed managers here long before Mark Ashton was ever involved in the club, Steve has past history of these horrendous appointments.
