  1. I rated Bryan when he was here and it would be good business to get him back - if he is willing to take an offer that is within our wage structure.. I do feel all this talk of ‘he’s not in it for the money’ and ‘money doesn’t motivate him’ is being a bit naive from some fans though. Irrespective of if he comes from a nice affluent middle class family or not, the guy is on big money at Fulham and i doubt he would want to take a substantial cut in wages to come here. I may be completely wrong but i think we would have to offer him decent wedge for him to consider coming back IMO..
  2. Totally agree Dave, once the confidence goes as a keeper it’s the beginning of the end really. The Wolves move was a bit of an odd one for me though, Bentley didn’t ever strike me as a keeper that would be happy to settle as a number 2. I would imagine he is on a decent contract at Wolves (possibly better wages than he was on here) so it could just be for purely financial reason that he made the switch.
  3. Didn’t look out of place either, some really good saves.. to be fair to him he was always a quality shot stopper, his distribution was his main weakness IMO.

I’ve always liked Darren Moore but there is no coming back from that result surely. Football is a funny old game though and anything could happen in the second leg, would be one of football’s greatest comebacks if they did manage it though!
  5. Indeed. As much as i am supportive of the current transfer policy of signing young up and coming League 1 and 2 players (Mehmeti being a good example) more often than not it is too much of an expectation to assume these players are going to come in and step up straight away to the rigors of Championship football. League position is all hypothetical until we know what business is done this summer, however i feel if we are serious about an assault on the top 6 we may need to take the gamble on a couple of Championship ‘ready’ players whether that be loans or perm signings. For the first time since the summer of 2019 we will have some serious funds in the kitty. I fully trust Pearson to add the necessary quality needed to take us to that next level. It’s of course a gamble as we know from experience that throwing ££ at it at this level isn’t a guarantee for success, but i feel Pearson will give it a much better go than LJ and MA did. Gone are the days of just scatter gun signings and anyone who is brought in for a substantial transfer or loan fee will be right for the club and system that Pearson is looking to implement IMO. I’m certainly excited and intrigued to see what Pearson can do with a bit of cash at his disposal..
  6. Fair play to him, as others have said doing it the right way starting down the football pyramid. Was always a class act for us i thought, he was always quite underrated by our fanbase at times i feel though.

Can’t help by laugh at Darren Moore’s face. He looks like he has seen a ghost ?

Embarrassing from Wednesday to be fair.
  9. This is my gripe. Why did everyone else bar us in the football league not manage to sort something with Hummel. I could understand it more if there had been a mass exodus of clubs leaving Hummel, fair enough - but there wasn’t.
  10. Sounds like an Unbelievable atmosphere there in the San Siro.. Really makes you realise how sanitised and sterile the vast majority of stadiums in the UK have become when you listen to the noise being generated by both sets of Milan fans!
  11. A solid season, onwards and upwards. Certainly feeling positive about the future under Pearson!
  12. Allegedly, but no solid confirmation, only rumours... SL being the businessman that he is though, it wouldn’t surprise me if he has plans in place to purchase the houses on Ashton road or at least put the proposal to the potential investor that are looking at the club. Just looking at general house pieces around the BS3 area estimates to buy the row of houses would be circa £10 million ish.. Personally i feel that any potential investor would look at the Atyeo stand more from a vanity point of view more than anything else would want to purchase that row of houses to properly complete the stadium. Only time will tell…
  13. What happens when you are mid-table throughout the season. I remember when we got to the playoff final at this level in 07/08 we seemed to be on Sky almost every week..
  14. True, but in reality irrespective of if people physically turn up or not those seats are sold and can’t be released back into general sale. I suppose the club will look at if things do go well next season and we are up around the top 6 (a big if i know!) then that's when the capacity does start to come into question..
  15. I can definitely see us hitting over 15k ST holders next season which would be a decent effort. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again to have the 8th highest home attendance in the division considering the absolute dross that has been served up at times over the past few season is fantastic. 20 k home attendances are the norm for us now which shows how far we have come over the last decade or so. If we are pushing for play-offs in this league as we have seen over the years we can easily get 25k plus on a regularly basis aswell..
  16. They should follow Cardiff and Swansea and play in their own countries league. Welsh *****.
  17. Frank Lampard needs a long extended break away from football management, the bloke is an embarrassment ?
  18. Have to say i agree with this. A bit similar to Graham Souness, a legend of the game but i think he has probably bowed out at the right time. Everyone has their sell by date unfortunately!
  19. Hummel’s kits were imo the best we have had for years. Decent quality and some really nice personalised touches, the tribute to the Ashton Gate 8 on the back of the home shirt a couple of seasons back was class. It’s looking like a real blunder for the club getting O’neills in, your hoping no long term contract was signer and we can look to replace them for the 24/25 season.
  20. Indeed. With a bit of luck they will struggle and go straight back down next season ?
  21. Do you not think though that had Pearson walked into the club and it was on the same financial footing as we were in the summer of 2019 say that he would still of been giving Bell , Conway Benarous etc as much game time? Im certainly not knocking Pearson for developing the younger players but i just feel at times he has been left with little choice because of our dire financial situation over the past 24 months or so.
  22. Agreed. I think LJ gave the younger players that were ‘good’ enough at the time the opportunity, the current academy crop we have coming through right now is arguably the best we have ever seen at the football club. As you said add to that the unbelievable find in Alex Scott and the same in Antoine and Pearson has in many ways been quite fortunate with the young players he has had at his disposal since he was appointed in 2021. Also worth noting that Pearson as of yet hasn’t had anywhere near the available funds that LJ had. In reality if Pearson hadn’t of had his hands tied financially like he has the last 3 or 4 transfer windows and had the war chest that LJ had over his tenure would players like Bell, Conway etc been given the amount of game time?
  23. Congratulations to them. Personally feel they will struggle next season though.
  24. He is arrogant though, isn’t he. Steve and the family come across as decent people, i certainly wouldn’t for one minute think their has been any malice in SL’s poor footballing decisions but it doesn’t excuse them and the damage they have done to the football club over the years. He does though time after time fail to see that he is at fault for any of it though i feel, and that’s why i think you get this underlying arrogant attitude from him in interviews. ‘Its my club, i’ll do as i please’ remember was trotted out from Steve in an interview not so long ago, i lost a lot of respect from him after he said that to be honest. As i said he isn’t a bad bloke and credit to him, we are certainly a better club off the field from where we were when we took over. He is fairly clueless when it comes to the footballing side of things though which is a shame as that will tarnish his legacy when he finally sells up.
  25. Decent start to be fair. Burnley look as if they could be there for the taking today.
