Thing is there’s nothing much different being dished up on the pitch week on week, we’re watching the same dross over and over and over again.. there’s nothing being offered by the club performance wise to change the narrative. And if the changes to the squad over the summer are modest as we are being led to believe and not wholesale, why should we remotely believe LM will be able to deliver anything different next term? It’s friggin depressing, I can’t get why you don’t see that?

Harsh, especially off the back of winning 5-0 at home (did we EVER batter a team at home like that under Pearson?) and solid albeit battling at time performances against Plymouth and Leicester..

I loved Pearson and was gutted to see him go as much as the next person but recent results and performances have given me hope that Manning can get things right. I've gone from fully wanting the bloke gone to being able to rationally look at it now and see small glimpses that he could be on to something.

Certainly not ideal though but it would be foolish to not remember that we were horrendously inconsistent under Pearson.

Season was written off in October really. Really need a good season next year to make up for it.

Indeed. I would go even further to say that the board effectively wrote the season off in the summer by not giving Nige the proper funding that was clearly needed.

Manning has done enough (results wise at least) to be properly backed in the summer. Give him the tools that are needed and then we can properly judge IMO.

  3. Cannot stand Birmingham! how many times have they almost been relegated out of this league and saved themselves by the skin of their teeth.. as others have said we should have sent them down in 2017.. they stayed up on the last day of the season in 2014 aswell getting a lucky last minute draw to stay up. Relegation to the third tier has been a long time coming for them 🫰

It's hard to believe we are still the same club as we were back then.

We haven't even come close as a club to the togetherness and the fan connection that we had in 14/15. It was the us v the world siege mentality that Cotts instilled in the club that i loved at the time. We so desperately need that again IMO, that is when this football club is at it's best.

The way I saw it was that Manning could see we were playing badly and were lucky to go in at 0-0 so he hooked AM off and went to a back 5 to shut up shop and play for the point. I don't like that.

Or you could spin it the other way and say it was decent game management to play for the point.. A point away from home is never a bad one..

  6. Today was more like, was fully expecting a poor result and performance today but credit to the manager and the team i was pleasantly surprised.

Need to keep this up for the rest of the season now, we clearly have the ability its just finding that consistency.

  7. Legs look like they are starting to go to me, echo what others were saying around me in the ground yesterday that he has been fairly underwhelming since he has come here..

If anyone, including the staff, cannot see what difference James make to our side then I'm lost for words. All I can say is if he's being canned then Max Bird or whoever else we recruit had better be AT LEAST his equivalent. Some League 1 or 2 "Superstar" who has played 30,000 games but takes 9 months to learn at this level whilst we get overrun in midfield every week won't cut it for me.

Indeed. The cynic in me however cannot help but feel that the powers that be want every reminiscent of the Nige regime out the building as soon as physical possible irrespective of their ability.

We all know how integral James was to where Pearson wanted the club to go both on and off the pitch, let's hope that the politics and Tinnion and the rest of the hierarchies ego's don't get in the way of keeping a player who is absolutely crucial to us. It's an absolute no brainer for me to offer him at least another year..

Despite supposedly losing the dressing room, being out of his depth, and boring I'd say our manager deserves a lot of credit for today's excellent victory against Premier League bound Leicester.

Although I expect several of you to disagree.

Credit where it is due however i am reserving judgement on Manning untill we see a proper upturn in results and not just another flash in the pan which this result could very well turn out to be again..
