I remember just over a year ago Tinnion sat there nodding along next to Richard Gould as Gould explained why loans for Championship clubs from Premier League clubs was such a huge waste of time and money. In fact he even chipped in at one point asking the fans in the crowd to name just how many successful loans from the Premier League we'd had as a club? The crowd was rather struggling as after the absolute tap in shouts of Caulker and Abraham someone had to go back 30 years to name Andy Cole.

    What happened Brian?

Just an aside, and no doubt I'll be accused of not moving on or something, but Gould made the case against expensive PL loans and explained perfectly why it isn't beneficial to us as a club. Won't ever stop the utterly simpleton shouts of NiGe DiDnT lIkE LoAnS!!! though..

Yet again it's the Lansdown's lurching from one strategy to another. You are quite right in what you say, the club came out in a united front on the loan subject when asked. This wasn't just Nige it was the Ceo at the time and Tinnion that backed the manager up on why they are basically just a huge waste of money..

As i said, history repeats itself. Steve and the boy just lurch from one ideology to another, they haven't got a ******* clue what they are doing and Tinnion is just the mouthpiece that spouts whatever crap they want him to spout at the given time.

The only player to get 20+ goals in a Championship season for us for quite a while

Indeed, he will always be remembered for that season, terrific numbers.

Personally i was a huge fan of Andi, what he sometimes lacked in quality he always made up for it in work rate and effort. That is all you can ask from players that they give it 100% and that is something Andi did everytime he put on our shirt.

Technology to zoom in has been around for a hundred years but that’s not how televising a game works. It’s all about the angles and position I suppose.

There was endless criticism of our games against Man Utd and City. If you google “Ashton Gate camera angle too high” there’s pages of criticism to read on the subject.

I guess as we were at those games we haven’t noticed so much.

The same complaints were all over twitter when we played Man City in the cup last season aswell. So 6 years later and the club still haven't taken onboard the criticism, just about sums us up really - ******* amateur from top to bottom at this club.

Just looked at our next 4 fixtures. Watford, Leeds, Boro and Southampton. It’s not impossible, in fact probably quite likely, that our season could be over by March AGAIN.

I am reminded that the worst form of football is this. Nothing to play for, languishing deadness. And we’ve had it from Spring onwards for as long as we’ve been in the Championship, barring one or two limp play off pushes under LJ and one sort of relegation battle. It’s unbearably boring. I don’t care how this sounds, give me a fiery survival battle over stuck in the mud nothingness every single time. I’m done with this non-movement. We’re the most 14th position team in Europe. Probably the world. If we can’t string a serious run of wins together then let’s sell our best players this month for cheap in order to go on a big losing run and have a bit of danger to contend with come April. I want to feel something, that’s the ******* point of all this

Be careful what you wish for as i really don't fancy us in a relegation battle, certainly not with this squad anyway. Too many weak minded bottlers amongst them IMO.

As much as i agree with what you are saying about things being painfully boring over the last 6 or 7 seasons, going back to League 1 would be a disaster for the club. No guarantee we would bounce back in 2 season like we did last time aswell. I don't know about you but i have seen far too many seasons of us being in the third tier - it's ******* dire.

Go back a few months and these two fired a Manager who was “failing to get the best out of a top end squad”. Fast forward eleven matches and we are in pretty much the same place we were. Surely a “better” manager recruited to give us a better chance of success should have come in and achieved MORE if it was only the old manager that was failing us? Your words suggested the squad was good enough but not the manager, YOUR WORDS.

Conclusion so far? Manning is getting no more out of this squad than the sacked manager did. What does that suggest? To me it says the squad was never top end in the first place and where we are with it is as good is it gets. Liam has achieved no more, no less,

I have no doubts Manning will get the point per game that sees us easily safe. But that is not what the two at the top said they would deliver. Front foot, attacking football and success were the sound bites. Three league games without a goal suggests it ain’t happening. More seasons of this type of mediocrity will see us leave the division in the end……..

It’s clear that Manning needs the tools to deliver what has been “spun” from the top. So it’s literally over to the hierarchy. Are you a pair of sound bite bullshitters who will **** us over in the end, which some think you are, or do you have the ability to recruit what Liam needs and what you have said yourselves?

I think many fans will be watching you now…..is it bullshit and bluster or are you going to deliver on your words? Over to you guys!!

The thing is, if it wasn't clear at the time it is crystal clear now.. Nigel was never dismissed for the reasons the Lansdowns publicly gave.. It was IMO a personal vendetta/fued that led to Pearaons sacking.. they knew manning or any new manager couldn't get any better out of this current squad but they had to publicly peddle that narrative.

Think this is where I am now with the club. Not surprised at today’s result. Accepted that will be how it is until the end of the season. We will pick up wins, lose a few as well. Performances will be up and down. Probably much like of Pearson were still in charge.

I have been a harsh critic of Manning. Not because of him, but under the circumstances he came in under and the comments made by the hierarchy at the time.

Do I see us progressing under Manning? Not really. Is it exciting football? Not really. But I do hope he brings in a couple this month to adjust to the club and indeed championship football if anyone is making a step up. We can then push on from the summer with a clean slate and prove me wrong.

Same old city for me as others have said.  We aren't going anywhere with the current structure, its mid to lower mid table championship finishes for the foreseeable IMO.

Credit to the fanbase for still turning up in their numbers though, to be averaging 22,000 at home is incredible and the Lansdowns should feel extremely lucky that we keep turning up week in week out.

  7. Still far too early to predict anything long term IMO however the early signs are good from Manning and Hogg.

Many people on here (myself included) will be eating some humble pie tonight, i will be the first to admit i was probably far too critical of the new management team when they came in but fair play they are proving me and many others wrong and long may it continue.

  8. If the standard of officiating over there is anything like it is in this country then i can't blame them.

Maybe if clubs in this country made more of a stand against some of the appalling VAR and other decisions made then the FA, Premier league and EFL might actually do something about constructive about it..

As above. Plymouth fans currently ‘Oxfording’ - though they’re calling Schumacher a ‘rat’, where I believe our Liam was a ‘snake’.

Schumacer is somebody i wish we went for to be honest. Can see him being be a good appointment for Stoke.

As for Plymouth fans unfortunately he was always going to go as soon as a bigger club came calling IMO. No disrespect to them but they are punching above their weight being at this level.

32 going on 33 James' wage market value is a lot lower than 29 year old James.

I would like to see him stay

Totally agree. Re signing James on slightly lesser terms would be ideal - he still has a lot to offer IMO.

  11. As others have said for the reported fee it was always a low risk gamble wasn't it in reality.

On paper he came here with a track record of such at this level already with Luton so can see why Nige and the recruitment team were willing to take a punt on him.

Personally I felt that having a committed squad was our best chance of getting out of this division.

In fact you can argue everytime we are successful, it's because we've had a committed squad.

Luton wouldn't have been a top 6 squad without their committed squad Coventry neither. Cardiff under Warnock too. Plenty of examples out there of clubs getting promoted despite having limited skill.

I thought Sheff Utd were rubbish last season, but they had that commitment.

I think its an ingredient in squads that get vastly overlooked! People concentrate on stats but that team work ethic, willingness to work hard for each other, that never say die attitude which imo opinion is just as important

    I agree, 100%.

I know the Championship was a different landscape back in 07/08 but the principles remain the same IMO. We punched above our weight that year through grit and determination and players that wanted to give everything for the shirt under GJ.

For me it just felt like Nige was building that sort of 07/08 siege mentality that we had under GJ and with a bit of financial help i personally feel we were heading for the playoffs at a minimum. Maybe not this season but certainly next. Hugely frustrating isn't it.

This squad is so boring. No stars, no flair players, barely watchable.

It's terrifying that the powers that be genuinely believe this team is capable of promotion.

The young players are raw, the senior players are washed, and the manager is already losing the battle with his hairline.

Club needs a fresh start and new leadership/ownership, until then I have absolutely no interest in coming back.

I hear you. It's not that i don't like this group of players.. personally it's for me it's the most likeable group we have had in a while, they are battlers grafters and will do anything for the shirt, i can't fault them for that but they just aren't good enough if we want to push on.

Im ranting on but for me under Pearson i was just starting to enjoy watching BCFC, aslong as we kept our championship status i was happy with seeing a team full of committed players albeit slightly limited in skill.. I have just had a gutsful of yet what is clearly going to have to be another rebuilding job under Manning when there was no need..

They also said this is the best squad they’ve had in years.
I’d argue it was better just 10 months ago when it still had Semenyo & Scott.
    The 15/16, 16/17 & 17/18 team beats this one 10 times out of 10.
I honestly don’t know what planet they’re on.

100% agree. This public stating of Top 6 prowess is not only delusional but baffling that when we have been in positions of much better talent and actual clout in regards to a play-off push the Lansdown's have said nothing if note..

Maybe im rambling but i just don't understand the logic man. They have lost the plot IMO.
