  1. As i said many people called GJ a man who didn’t like giving youth a chance but who if any of the lads he didn’t give a ‘chance’ too went on and did anything in the game? Im of the opinion that unfortunately the players we produced at that time genuinely weren’t good enough.
  2. Indeed. Many from the crop of around 2008-2010 didn’t make it either. Frankie Artus, Jordan Walker Tris Plumber etc etc. It was only Christian Riberio that i can recall from that lot that ever went on to make appearances for the first team but sadly he was just so injury prone that his career never really took off. It could be argued that it was because GJ didn’t like giving youth a chance but if you look at where Artus Plumber etc ended up in the game it would suggest he was right in not trusting them to perform at Championship level for us.. Fantastic to see us producing players now but over the last 20-25 years i can 100% see why people have had reservations of what exactly the academy has been doing.
  3. Again this is a huge credit to our academy and the coaches involved. Without being aggressive you won’t make it at the top level in this country and it seems that it is being instilled in the vast majority of our academy players. Conway is a fantastic talent, really hoping he can stay injury free this season and he kicks on. Going to be a top striker at this level and possibly the level above.
  4. He looks a really good defender and is extremely passionate and vocal - something we have lacked for years at the back. My only gripe with Naismith is he can be at times slow to release the ball and look a little flat footed. I just worry that teams that play the high press will look to target him a bit. Just hoping what happened against Sunderland was a one off.
  5. As much as I wouldn’t want to sell Semenyo i think with the emergence now of Conway we probably could afford to offload him at the right price.. Imperative that we keep Weimann at the club aswell. Huge player for us and it wouldn’t surprise me if someone puts in a cheeky late bid for him this window.
  6. I was thinking the same and it just Highlights how clueless the guy is to be honest.
  7. I like Chris Martin but what Conway offers we have been so desperate for ever since Reid left
  8. I really like Morgan gibbs-white but christ £40 million plus is mental money
  9. Forest are still a big club to be fair to them but i agree their fanbase particularly at this level is nothing to write home about. I said it on a previous thread a few weeks ago but despite what some say on here our fanbase particularly after the re-build and considering the lack of success we have had (30 plus years and counting out of the topflight) is very good IMO. Barring a complete horror season i think we will average 20k plus again at home this season which would be a very good effort.
  10. Really enjoyed Sunderland v blades last night - Sunderland showed decent character to almost pinch a draw.. Cannot stand Alex Neil or his teams but they are my darkhorses for the play-offs this season.
  11. How Danny Murphy gets work within media is an absolute myth to me - the guy really doesn’t have a clue.
  12. Fair play Nige. Somebody needed to say it as he quite rightly said.
  13. Naismith was absolutely quality tonight and proved that he made the right decision by leaving them. I see the Luton fans have piped down quite considerably from a month or so ago when he joined..! They were an absolute shambles tonight and i can see them doing a Barnsley and going down this season to be honest!
  14. Luton look awful but you can only beat what is in front of you..!
  15. You beat me too it. If you don’t know the background story with McClean and take this as an isolated incident it does look like mindless sectarian abuse but unfortunately and imho McClean like you said has brought this upon himself. The refusal to wear the poppy was and still is a disgrace and if he felt that strongly about it he shouldn’t play or live in England. He has been more than Happy to let English clubs pay him millions of pounds in wages over the years though hasn’t he - funny that..
  16. Indeed. Mental to think it wasn’t too long ago that Forest were a complete basket case of a club and looked more like slipping back into League one than getting to the Prem and staying there.. just goes to show what a bit of time and new ownership with ambition can do for you!!
  17. So Neville isn’t happy that the Glazer’s are spending the revenue money that Man Utd as a football club generates and is pointing out that the family haven’t put their hands in their pockets like Abramovich did?.. **** me is that not how a football club should operate Gary? I’m sorry i normally have a lot of time for Neville and his opinions but what a load of absolute bullshit and especially now with the introduction of FFP how can he genuinely come out and say that.
  18. Hahah. Couldn’t happen to a nicer club or set of fans!

    Vyner

Credit where credit is due Vyner had a really solid game today. Totally unconvinced by Naismith though.. he is obviously trying to be the modern ball playing centre half but to me doesn’t look technically good enough to be it at this level.
