Couldn’t have worded it better to be honest. People bemoaning the fact we can’t compete with the clubs with PP but it was only a few summers ago we were spunking millions left right and centre on players. £8 million on a centre half ffs, millions and millions on dross/questionable signings like KP Nagy Dasilva etc etc. Somebody posted a list of the signings we made under LJ and Ashton’s watch and it was eye watering to be quite frank. We have had the money to compete with the PP clubs but just haven’t spent it wisely. As you said the wrong horse was backed by Lansdown, we have had our chance and we had MORE than enough money in the war chest to have had a right go in this division but we didn’t.

Where are people getting this 100k a week figure from for Mitrovic by the way? 30-60 k a week maybe but no chance is he on over a 100k!

Indeed. In regards to Bobby leaving to join Cardiff whilst yes it was a great move for him and his family financially and a chance to play in the Prem bla bla bla but it was a middle finger up to the fans to be honest. We have had a huge and at times quite nasty rivalry with Cardiff both on and off the field and it felt as if he just left with no hesitation. You only have to look back over the years of countless players that have made moves like this, many Leeds fans still haven’t forgiven Alan Smith for moving to United for example! As you said football is theatre and if people want to boo then it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.

Indeed. The last two performances have actually given me hope that we will be okay this season.

I’m not sure what people expect from our academy to be honest. We have to realise that not everyone of them will make it with us and that is just life. Whilst the academy has improved vastly from where it was 15-20 years ago i still think it is unrealistic for us to expect to bring through 4 or 5 championship players simultaneously through year on year. We have had an excellent past few seasons in bringing through Reid, Kelly and Bryan and the next homegrown batch in Pring , Benarous , O’leary and Towler (who IMO needs a couple more loans at a higher level) all look like they have huge potential. Add the likes of Scott and Semenyo who whilst haven’t been with us through all the age groups but were all brought in for little to no fee’s at academy level then the future is bright IMO.

Was fantastic here before he got injured. To be honest i would much rather have Afobe now than Wells given the chance.

Thought Max had a good game to be fair. His distribution impressed me the most, he is very good with his feet.

I’ve been the same. I’ve got back into playing golf again after a bit of time away from the game and that takes up most of my Saturday’s now to be honest! Sad that loyal lifelong fans are staying away but things at the club need to change before i come back in a committed way as i have in the past.

I think there is but only if you are a big name that will sell shirts and bring in the crowds.. Kasey Palmer certainly wouldn’t fit that bill and then there is the question of would he want to move his young family over there for any length of time. It seems that most European players only stick it out over there for a year or 2 max.

Indeed. Will be very uncertain times for Mr Palmer and his agent in the next year or so. Genuinely don’t see where he goes from here for his next £20 plus k a week deal over 2 or 3 years - i just can’t see him getting that anywhere else especially not in this country.
