Going down the memory lane route . I remember watching matches on The Marsh (very aptly named) on Winterstoke Rd on the way to matches many years ago, indeed I played there myself on occasions. Missed ko in the ground a few times if the match was really good. What an atmosphere there was at the Gate with the old stands. I suppose its progress but something was lost with the redevelopment.

I for one applaud your achievements this season. You can only play against what's put in front of you and Rovers did that and won through. Some on here just cannot say the words "well done". I've an inkling some on here may be becoming a teeny bit worried about the gap in the future. Although they won't admit it. Make no mistake though, next season will be tough for you. Oh and "well done".

Why was the rule about advancing free kicks 10 metres, if they were disputed, revoked. Bring it back and allow the team with the free kick to take it from the original spot if they prefer. (To get the ball up and over the wall and on goal for example)

I was on that second train to Filbert St. Train broke down going up and back. Got soaked walking from the station to Filbert St, saw 5 minutes of water polo, then the ref abandoned it. I sympathise with your opening post Major but as has been said, money talks and any youngsters getting offers of 1 mil plus per year will have their heads turned (,or their agents will !). They will probably not be told they are going to be loaned out either. The days of the John Atyeos are gone I'm afraid.
