  1. I'm expecting a 10% reduction in prices across the board.
  2. I had him down as a cult..........(bloody predictive texting)
  3. Think he wanted us all to boycott it so it was easier for him to get tickets!!
  4. I'd give William's 45 this weekend and if he breaks down again, his P45 next weekend.
  5. Absolutely . Fair play and credit where its due. You can only play against what's put in front of you and they are flying. Yes its league 2 but we didn't mind bragging when we were flying in league 1. If they come up then the test gets harder but they look a good bet for promotion on current form. Let's see what happens first. We are in no position to gloat.
  6. They are in line with the last defender so they never watch it now. I thought the Brummie keeper was well outside his box several times.
  7. 4 linesmen and linesman stands where the throw is to be taken from, as in rugby.
  8. If he's playing against 3 then where are our spare men?
  9. Thought their fans respect was brilliant both before the game and on 8 minutes when they had just gone a goal down. Well done Boro fans. I think the pre match presentation of the 8 was well organised and received which possibly spurred on the crowd and the players on an emotional afternoon. As an aside, what was the music that was playing when the 8 were presented to the crowd before ko? I couldn't hear it clearly but thought it was quite rousing. Well done to all yesterday. PS. Surfer flag was awesome.
  10. I agree that Nige will have a better eye for the right player and I would trust him to find the right blend. My worry is whether he will be given the funds to do so if we sale our assets just to clear the debt.
  11. We could balance the books with a hefty residue if we sell our top players, Massengo, Scott, Semenyo, Pring, Benarous, possibly raising as much as 70 million plus for the lot but next year we will be fighting a relegation battle to stay out of League 1. We have to change our approach and ambition. Summer 2023 could see few of the present squad remaining unless we become more ambitious.
  12. I see that as exactly what will happen but what is the point then. The roundabout we are on will have us standing still forever if we dont change our approach. The way things are means we will never compete at the highest level. The club dream seems to be "hope for the best." Selling our best will mean our best hope is to be in a relegation battle in the Prem. What sort of dream is that?
  13. I agree with all that you say Monkeh but we have to try to keep them somehow and improve whats needed elsewhere. Selling our best has always knocked us backwards and its time to try and keep the best or else whats the point? We constantly hope that the promise lies within our youth and now, for the first time , it does. I know we have to balance the books but there are people paid to do just that. Selling the crown jewels is the easy option and we must find another way. Players must be taught that progress with us is better than benching in the Prem. I know what you will say though. Money talks.......and until there is a level playing field, that will always be a problem. I think I am just totally frustrated by the system.
  14. Selling our best assets might help balance the books but talk of buying better to improve the squad is rubbish. The money for Webster, Reid, Flint, Brownhill etc hasn't exactly propelled us towards promotion has it? Time to build around our assets rather than discard them. Leave the playing side to NP and let the financial experts in our club balance the books.
  15. I don't think we should raise our expectations too high next season. Yes we need to push on , be more consistent and look to progress, but I think a slow burn is more likely. Top ten finish next season then go for it the following year. That's my thinking. We are far from ready to go for it next season.
  16. If Derby get away with it then no clubs need fear FFP from the Football League.
  17. Can I chuck the P word into the mix? Palmer????
  18. Would have had many more England caps had he played for a top league club. Great player, great memories.
  19. Just a thought on our fear of crosses. I may be well off the mark here but I wonder if Bakers situation is affecting our defenders. Lots of talk in the media about dementia and alzhimers in ex pros and now one of our own out for season apparently with multiple concussions. Maybe a flash of doubt when the ball comes in and a less than 100% commitment and the challenge is lost. Teams seem to target us with wide players slinging in crosses and it is our achilles heel. Sorry if this had been mentioned before. Any thoughts?
  20. More water with it Silvio! Seriously though I think our improvement is immense. We could wipe out our debt in the summer but I hope we retain and add what's needed. If we do, that tenner might not sound such a bad idea.
  21. Disappointed that we conceded late but we were going for a third when it happened , not friggin about in our own half trying to hold on and hoping that nothing would happen. That's the difference now, we are still trying to score even when we are leading. Don't knock it.
