Nick Anderton : Rovers player diagnosed with cancer
marmite replied to Fordy62's topic in Football Chat
Bristol United on this one. Best wishes Nick. -
Newcastle at home is my guess. That would be a 'nearly' game in my thinking

I really think we might see Lo w again today. He was badly isolated and exposed by Sykes and Klose midweek and all 3 were rightly subbed. It may not gave been good for his confidence on Tuesday but it would be a massive boost to his confidence today if Nige put him back in. The comments about trusting players were not imo aimed at Low but more at the players around him. Tough selection job for Nige today but it's what he's well paid for.

I played at AG in 1963/4 in the final of the Glos. Junior Cup. We won 2-1 in front of a crowd of about 200 schoolmates and parents. Happy days long since passed.

The guy just needs a goal from somewhere. Remember his early goals came from just closing down the keeper and getting a ricochet. Once he gets one he will start firing again. He's a confidence player that just needs a spark to get him going. Rather he was in our side than playing against us. Problem is, will Nige be patient with him?

We will win this 3-0 with a Max O'Leary hat trick. (Gosh this Malbec is nice!)

Play Scott as a forward. He can beat a man and maybe even draw us a penalty??? which we may well need Saturday. As for the rest, I've no idea either who plays or which formation.

Excellent article. Glad he is OUR manager, but I think he's telling us to be patient. Get the foundations right and the structure will remain solid. Seems to say we are still missing some links to make the chain stronger but yeah, so glad he is here.

As a side issue, how long can a keeper keep the ball in hand? Max must take it to the limit.

I'd prescibe taking up smoking. Ten Players will do.

Looking for answers - have we got a psychology problem?
marmite replied to Curr Avon's topic in Football Chat
We looked very lightweight in appearance today. Millwall looked bigger, stronger , and more physical than City , and that's how it played out. -
Kloses performance last night enabled Atkinson to be more adventurous and forward thinking. The whole team looked better because they had confidence in the defence , including Max. Let's build on this now.

This exactly. I commented yesterday to my mate that they had done their homework on us and were exploiting our weaknesses. (Casual at the back, always looking for the safe defensive pass, stopping and turning back, always throwing the ball backwards at our throw ins.) If I can see our weaknesses, then its open for all to see. I know the ball across the back line is supposed to draw the opposition in but were just not very good at it.

RIP mate. We are going to need a bigger stand up there. Condolances to family and friends.

Nail on head!! -
I'll believe this when it's on the official website.

I'm greedy and want both. Which we are now getting. Let's not forget Niges health problems which affected his input last 18 months. We've a way to go yet but we are now facing the right way at last.
-
Good luck and good health in the future NB. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy life injury free.

Yea agree with most of this Harry. However it's about time we got more streetwise in our approach. We've been that nice Bristol City for far too long.
-
One battle I want Rovers to win. Get well soon lad. You can beat this.

Ex schoolmate of mine. Thought he would last forever. He will in our thoughts. RIP mate.

Sightly off topic but are we getting new replacement season ticket cards this season? Mines looking a bit jaded.
