  1. That was always the plan. Seems very logical to me.. He's a better player though. Miles better on the ball and less reckless..
  2. He did score a great goal at Hillsborough a couple of seasons ago.
  3. Referees doing an under 9 match are hardly going to penalise a kid from heading it. This is more to so with coaching.
  4. What will happen is the Dolman and Atyeo will be redeveloped in 5 to 10 years time. This will result in an increase in capacity of 2 to 3k due to filling the corner and having rail seating/terracing.
  5. Again, a property on Raynes Road adjoining the ground was on the market for £575k recently. So, the theory goes that in order for us to progress and push capacity towards 40,000, our owner needs to buy the following:- 18 houses on Ashton Road. 10 on Raynes Road Combined cost at current prices would be £18 million without allowing for the enormous premium that would have to be paid as, over the decades the club moved towards the point of owning all of them. Not to mention the fact that some people would, quite rightly, refuse to sell as is their fundamental right. Southbow House needs to be demolished and the 60+ tenants moved elsewhere. As everyone knows there is ample available social housing at the moment and it's not as if millions were recently spent on them or, that EE are going to stick a 5G mast on the roof. Good luck persuading any of the residents to move. Why should they? They're in one of the best Council blocks in Bristol. All of this to increase our capacity when we could possibly nudge capacity up to 30,000 without acting like total c***s. There is more chance of me having a 3some with Beyonce and Emilia Clarke.
  6. Don't know if you've noticed but there's a block of 62 flats close to the Dolman. All the tenants are at least 50, some have been there for 40/50 years. Good luck getting them all moved, the block demolished etc so that we can get a theoretical extra 5,000 supporters in to watch us dominate European football etc.
  7. Yes. City have done this, particularly with female players at SGS Filton, but also with boys too. I know for a fact that they took advantage of the welfare benefits system to help with costs.
  8. One of the houses on Ashton Road was on the market recently for upwards of £600k. I think there are 18 such houses behind the Atyeo. There's no chance Steve Lansdown would fork out that plus the obvious cost of building to expand capacity to at most 35000. There's scope to add maybe 1500 to 2000 to capacity by knocking down the Atyeo, and wrapping around, but that would cost probably £15 million+.
  9. Shopping centre in Plymouth is an experience for sure.
  10. Walsh was exceptional. I don't think I saw a pass that was even a little bit sloppy, let alone didn't get to its intended destination...
  11. My tip for the division. The Cowleys know what they're doing. Pack was a great signing and I bet they get a tune out of him.
  12. About as coherent as the Prime Minister.
  13. Owns Morecombe and jointly owns Worcester Warriors Rugby. A fool and his money easily parted etc. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/rugby-club-boss-who-bought-cars-for-prince-is-banned-from-legal-profession-3knzf9zr8?shareToken=bea28a03109cf4a4afb7c9599c03892c
  14. It's the steroids pumping round their veins..
  15. QPR have recovered from their mess whilst Birmingham look like they want to be put out their misery and relegated. A few seasons in league 1 as a reality check and they'll probably recover. You just can't be run like a basket case and get away with it in the Championship unless you have a 'cash' owner willing to cover their own mistakes.
  16. The option was entirely dependent on Bakinson's form 2nd half of the season. If he'd nailed it and pushed Ipswich into the Play offs they'd have happily taken it up, but unsurprisingly he didn't nail it he did 'alright' so they are probably looking at other options and won't be paying the agreed fee. They may come back with a lower offer though. Frankly all I care about is that he's gone and we can use any fee and saved wages to get a player in who Pearson actually wants.
  17. Certain players seem to be highly favoured but with little to justify it. Scarlett and Vale specifically.
  18. The England forwards have been non-existent. Need one of them to provide a link to the rest of the team. I'd get the holding midfielder on from Villa, take one of the forwards off and push Scott into the 10 position.
  19. Scarlett is having a nightmare. Not releasing it. Like under 9s football.
  20. Israelis are 'competitive'. Our players are not using Scott and Chuckwamecka enough. Turning down simple lay offs for Hollywood nonsense that hasn't worked. Scarlett in particular is good at holding it up but holds it too much. Trying to be Harry Kane basically
  21. Question - who was captain the last time England won the European Under 19s championship?
  22. Almost as if they invest in their infrastructure rather than sell the profitable bits off to private, foreign concerns and let it rot..
