  1. I watched another of those yesterday when we lost 2-1 at Norwich in 1977 - Cormack scored a cracker for us but we lost to a late goal, for a change - dear old Martin Peters rifled one past Johnny Shaw for their opener and for some reason Trev Tainton was kicking anything that moved - he was in a right strop!
  2. He was a decent-ish centre half if it’s the same Ian Pearce I’m thinking of - has he any outstanding achievements in the world of recruitment of which you are aware?
  3. Is he the guy who played for Blackburn, Fulham and West Ham? Has he any recruitment credentials?!
  4. I’m sure you’ll be raising a glass to commemorate the amazing ‘Gers result tonight?! ???
  5. I’m sure I saw Irene and the GHS featuring in a DVD of this title ... ??
  6. My wheelie bin had to go on a speed awareness course a few weeks after the last storm we had like the one coming ...
  7. At last, something we can agree on - totally with you on this ...
  8. Top managers are ruthless in this day and age - I recall Mourinho making three first half subs in one game when Chelsea manager and Conte hooked Sessegnon after 26 minutes (?) in Spurs’ last game ...
  9. Yeh, but you’ve constantly demonstrated how out of touch you are regarding all things ‘football’ - so this was only to be expected ...
  10. Potentially horrendous - didn’t York City once end up with their stadium being called the Kit Kat Crescent due to sponsorship?! The only change I’d accept would be “Atyeo’s Ashton Gate” - to get his name away from the inappropriate stand that currently bears his name ...
  11. That doesn’t exist, it’s the Scottish Premiership ...
  12. You obviously mean myself with that comment - I have never said anyone has ‘over-exaggerated’ the number of pens awarded to the gas - I’ve simply shot down the conspiracy theory that refs favour them by always giving them pens - and I’ve pointed out the number of pens awarded AGAINST the gas this season to shoot down the whinging supporters of the gas penalty myth - have a peek at the number of pens given against them this season and then tell Graham C and then ask yourself if refs favour the gas ... oh, and whisper it quietly but last night was the 4th pen given to the gas in the league this season, they have had more pens given against them than for them - and seven teams in league two have been awarded more pens than them this season - I’m all for laughing at the gas but looking for things that don’t exist to chuck at them isn’t that clever ...
  13. Yeh, we stuffed ‘em 3-1 around 20 years ago - it may even have been the same season when I went to the pre-season friendly there - although I much prefer to remember Kettering dumping the Sags out of the FA Cup many years before our game - and it was comedy gold! Here’s just 50 seconds to warm the old cockles and give you a chuckle - so nice to see Mehew, Yates, Alexander, Reece et al get knocked out the cup by a non league club - yet again! Enjoy ...
  14. Careful, that’s the Roverzzzz’ new stadium you’re talking about there ... ?
  15. I think so Graham - the government proposed banning betting companies sponsoring football clubs back in September last year to come into effect from 2023 but I’m not sure if it has progressed past that ‘proposal/White Paper’ point yet...
  16. I went to Kettering away for a pre season friendly under Pulis - why did I do that?! Oh and back in the dim and distant me and two mates went away to Ottery St Mary to watch the reserves - we were the only away fans and we started to chant which stopped the match - non-plussed players turned to stare and even the ref had a look - I guess they weren’t used to many away fans in those days at fixtures such as this one, especially ones who’d start singing anyway ??
  17. You’re doing it deliberately now, just to ruin my day and leave me writhing in a pit of pedantic agony ???
  18. Good morning to you too Curr Avon - and cheers for the memory! Have a great day ...
  19. Absolutely - I remember Exeter having to play Darlington away on a Tuesday night on a few occasions - it’s truly ridiculous - but I also recall gas fans complaining that midweek Champions League games on tv affected their home attendances - fully admitting that the “loyal and true” gas hordes would rather stay indoors and watch their Old Trafford heroes etc rather than trudge along to support their gas “heroes” - and that was for HOME games!! These Harrogate fans who undertook a 600 mile round trip tonight just to see their team get beaten in injury time are the real football fans - proper supporters from a town where loads of the locals “support” Leeds, for some reason ... ??
  20. .... and strangely Harrogate scored 3 in a game of 7 goals ... in front of 37 of their fans ... blimey this is like an episode of Sesame Street ... ??
  21. ... made the trip to their game at Exeter City tonight - that’s a 600 mile round trip on a Tuesday night - unbelievable commitment to supporting their club - they all deserve a free season ticket for next season at least ...
  22. Everyone writes off Fulham - but in their run to the Europa League Final not so long ago, they took it to some of their opponents along the way and the West London boys were not disgraced - do I condone this behaviour? No, of course not, it’s horrible and ridiculous - but people always dismiss Fulham fans as being tame when they are anything but when it comes on top. I went to Fulham away on a Boxing Day back in the ‘90s I think it was and after the game their fans were well up for it - coming at us from side roads etc - every club has idiots and wannabes - including Fulham FC ...
  23. I sincerely apologise for my previous reply to you and wish you all the best ...
  24. Unfortunately it does - they are pathetic and disgusting - so, having slagged off our away fans, when are you going to attend a game, either home or away, and be the pillar of responsible support?!
