  1. You obviously didn’t read the club’s statement on this which was on the “official site” - you know, the only source of Bristol City info which you trust. Can’t believe you’ve commented on this without consulting your info Bible first - anyway, if you had, you’d have read that this season’s goal return for Andi so far represents the most goals he’s ever scored in a single season before. Therefore he has not so far ‘ever bagged 20 in a season before’ ... ??
  2. ... and you could give every one of the ‘loyal and true’ a £1 coin at a future home game and still have change ... ?
  3. I remember a home game when I was stood right at the front of the old Enclosure - Shelts came flying into a tackle right in front of me - he cleaned out the opponent who started whinging at him immediately - Shelts just squared up to him snarled “**** off, you’re at Ashton Gate now” - the other guy wilted like a piece of spinach. I loved Shelts, still do, had a good chat with him one Sunday lunchtime in the “Dirty Duck” on Stoke Lane - he only had good things to say about our club, and he knew how to smash back a Guinness ...
  4. Genuinely interested in how you know this? Cheers ...
  5. Good post - Sean O’Driscoll put lots of good things in place behind the scenes at our club before he was sacked - then we flew after that ... building on what he’d done ... his next two jobs were assistant manager at Liverpool FC and manager of an England age group squad - so he was clearly well thought of and was no mug ...
  6. Yes of course, it was phenomenal - just like our league cup runs to the semi finals were in 1970/1971 and 1988/1989 - but the fact remains, we were in an automatic promotion spot on Boxing Day and we finished 11th - not decent ...
  7. That’s my next t shirt slogan ... ?? ... and that’s my next album title ... ??
  8. I’m not amazed at all how the fans have stuck with him - we’ve got a manager who took Leicester City from league one to the premier league - he spent a whole Sunday at Jamie Vardy’s house persuading him to sign for Leicester rather than Blackburn and he signed Riyad Mahrez for £450k to play for Leicester - Mahrez was subsequently sold to Manchester City for £50 million - Pearson laid the foundations for Leicester City to win the premier league ... I’m sticking with him ... so, who would you recommend we get in as our new manager, willing to work within the considerable constraints whilst trying to build a winning squad? I look forward to your list ...
  9. No, in the season of our cup run (2017/2018) we finished 11th despite being well set for promotion - we were 2nd in the table on Boxing Day 2017 ... then we plummeted ... 2nd on Boxing Day, 11th at the end of the season - I wouldn’t call that ‘decent’ ...
  10. .... in other words, everything Neil Warnock is renowned for instilling into a group of players .... if only we’d appointed Warnock ten years ago ... oh well, too late now. Anyway, I had to get a reference to Neil in, because it’s just expected of me in threads about the management of our club ... ??????
  11. Neil Kilkenny played once for the Republic of Ireland - but then again, he also represented England and Australia ... ???
  12. I think about 10 championship teams have scored more league goals than us this season - I don’t think we are anywhere near 4th top scorers ...
  13. Cheers for the reply Robbo - I would never claim to know what ‘all’ City fans think about anything - because I would never know what ‘all’ City fans think ... but anyhow, cheers for getting back to me ...
  14. I may be having a senior moment, but who is the manager they reference in this tweet?!
  15. Wild speculation? Can you share your research and evidence that led you to claim that ‘almost every Bristol City fan’ believed something? Worldwide we probably have a couple of hundred thousand fans - but you’ve obviously tapped into all their views and concluded that ‘almost every City fan’ held a certain opinion. Let us know how you felt able to make that claim? For the record, I agree with you ...
  16. No need to apologise Fuber - really appreciate your reply though. It has been a very frustrating few years - five years ago it felt like we had a bit of momentum building up, we were flying high in the championship and a major cup competition and the spotlight was on us and our potential. It sort of seems to have come crashing down somewhat and here we are rebuilding once again - oh well. Happy Wednesday mate ... ?
  17. Can open, worms - everywhere .... ??
  18. Careful AIS - you can get into all sorts of bother in this modern world by assuming someone’s sex/gender ... ??
  19. As I said, no offence, and it’s obviously nothing personal - but your description of a ‘united’ could be levelled at a few clubs who have ‘united’ as their suffix - especially Leeds and Newcastle ...
  20. United? ... ? Leeds? Newcastle? West Ham? Scunthorpe? Cambridge? Peterborough? Hartlepool? Southend? Sheffield? No offence but I hate it when people latch onto the media’s very annoying trait of assuming everyone knows who they mean when they say ‘United’ or ‘City’ - some people on here even say ‘City’ when they mean ‘Manchester City FC’ - how rubbish is that?! There’s only one ‘City’ in these parts ...
  21. Good shout - but I think Neil would be a better bet ...
  22. Absolutely no reason to ‘fix’ Pongo88’s post?! I thought he or she was spot on with their original ‘unfixed’ post - it’s actually quite annoying when people feel the need to ‘fix’ someone’s post by editing it ...
  23. Well, looks like Ska Junkie and Fevs have turned it into a ‘going down’ thread ... ??
