It is more old-fashioned, based on family ties (hence why Wael and his brother were originally involved) and has a stronger sense of social obligation.

Do you think crimes against women should be covered under ‘social obligation’? Clearly your president doesn’t think so

I think by now we sadly need to cash in to avoid having an unhappy player in our ranks. Better its resolved sooner than later

If he was unhappy about the situation, he could always hand in a transfer request. The fact he hasn’t (afaik), would suggest he is comfortable with the situation and that the club have been transparent with him throughout.

Well he's got plenty of time as he wasn't even selected for the PPC to the new seat of Bristol North East. I see his acolytes are kicking up a fuss and playing the race card........ It's called Democracy in action Marvin (if you hadn't done such a shit job in Bristol, you might have stood a chance )

    btw I AM a Labour supporter !

You may have seen this article then which might be of interest

Clearly one of Rees’ mates who has no idea about and or has never been to Bristol. At least most of the comments are calling him out

here they go, can’t help themselves can they. how long before the next ‘unlucky da 5hit’ meathead raises his head above the parapet.

Ironic that the ‘rumour’ of the investment originated from this ‘dedication thread’ long before the vast majority of their own fans knew anything

I had a look at the planning application site.  It seems as though there has been a campaign by Rovers fans to bombard the council with letters of support.  Unfortunately, most of them have missed the point - i.e. you've got to comment on planning grounds.  Most of the letters of support just say it will be a good thing for Bristol Rovers, which is totally irrelevant for a planning application

The local media seem to use the number of support/objections as some sort of poll as to whether a project should go ahead or not in a sort of ‘the public have spoken’ sort of way.

thankfully, as you say, regardless of numbers, they are only taken into account on planning grounds/issues raised. 99% of the time, comments from the public have no sway whatsoever

Could anyone list a pro football club that’s got planning consent for a new stand in less than two months?

    Legend indeed.

There’s a post in the politics forum this morning (I know some people don’t like going there!) describing how Nigel Farage is adept at “turning utter entitlement into victimhood”. That could have been written for this knob too!

Without wanting to turn this into a political debate (for obvious reasons….much better to take the piss out the gas) but farage has every right to do what he is doing, what coutts/NW have done both from an ethical and data protection pov is absolutely scandalous. Just take away your dislike of farage and consider it if it was you account/personal data

I cant really see, even with scott staying, that we will pull ourselves up 14 places based on the signings weve made? What from the last 8 years would give us any evidence that this will be our season finally?! If we could cut down on weak goals conceded and finish top 10 that would be a result as far as i can see.

It’s not just about what signings you make…..it’s about a group of players clicking and being comfortable in the formation/way of playing.

Yes we have to defend better and we have brought 3 defenders into the club this summer to hopefully sort that. If we can continue the front foot football we saw more of last season with the abundance of pace and movement and improve the goals conceded column, we have every chance of competing for a playoff spot
