Cambridge Batch Red
Use of the word 'champion' outside of sport. "who is the new homeless families champion?" Even worse - using it as a verb ie "I am going to champion homeless families."

The Dolman Pragmatist
Use of the word 'loan' when it should be 'borrow'. For instance, "Bristol City have loaned Didier Drogba for the whole of the 2012/13 season". Also virtually any loan deal being described as an 'emergency loan'. BCAGFC
Not neccessarily a saying but what really gets on my wick is when people post a topic that is already just a few lines above on the forum...............attention seeking I call it. I notice that we even have a "leaks tsar" now. Tsars of course cost a fortune and were notoriously ineffective.
