Thanks for the kind words folks. There is also a petition to sign too that was started a couple of weeks so if I could ask you to be kind enough to sign it. Link below.

Sadly a minority of our fans are questioning whether with "normal" pricing you would have brought 3 or 4k. In certain you would. I recall in Feb 2004 you filled top of the away end at Hillsborough which is about 4k, I wonder if anyone can confirm?

Once again sorry for my clubs ridiculous pricing.

Have a good season.

Yes it was 4k plus.

Not including the ones who got escorted out of Yorkshire by the Police before the match.

I'm convinced we would have had the same amount for this game if your club had a sensible pricing policy.

What I struggle to fathom out is how the German clubs can charge so little and yet be so competitive in European football?

Surely that has to be the model we need to aspire to?

Because the average Bundesliga club spends 10% less of its turnover on wages than Premier League. German football clubs make much more on match day sales too. Because tickets are so cheap, fans buy more food and beer. In addition German clubs are more happy to part with tradition in favour of more income. For example, almost every stadium in the Bundesliga is sponsored.

Signal Iduna Park

Allianz Arena

Veltins Arena

Finally German clubs commit to bringing through lots of their own talent through their academies with only Bayern Munich splashing out on big deals due to their global popularity.

Thanks again people.

I thought it was over 4k in 2004. I also recall there was an "incident" at a Sheffield pub called the Gypsy King! :-)

Had a great response here and wish our general fan base where the same re ticket prices. Hope you do well next season.

Which begs the question, which major English club is going to be the first to follow this model?

I know we have Brentford following the "betting odd's" (not quite sure what you call it) tactic, so there's at least one club willing to go against the grain - we just need a premier league to break the mould and how the better path to take.

Hopefully it'll happen when somebody like the Glazers or Man City lose all their funding due to woeful investments or sharp downturn in the oil market etc..

A ticket will cost you an extra tenner, which you would of spent on a couple of pints anyway.  It is overpriced yeh, but it's 1 match of the whole season...

And that is what we are trying to ensure with this type of action

With your attitude it'll become the norm, or these sort of year on year increases the norm.

Oh and the couple of pints - not an optional extra. I still would spend that tenner.... or more
