Bowie
Burnley? he turned us down for them? Not being funny,I know they just left the prem but burnley are no bigger than us. Think I'd rather be at a club on the way up not on their way down. Not to mention it's a shit pit. Oh well never worth 9mill anyway. Utter garbage? Why are they on the way down? Strong chance they could bounce straight back Reading his interview, he's spoken to a lot of people for advice who have recommended working for Sean Dyche and looking at how Austin and ings careers have gone since joining Burnley it's a sensible choice to go there. They will be in the prem again before we make it without a doubt
bristolcitysweden
I had a quick glance and see from a related article that Tom Heaton is now captain. I seem to recall that several on this forum mocked him when he left for Burnley, then of the Championship prior to their short venture in the Premiership. I always rated him and am pleased that he has done well for himself. He was our best player by miles the last season
spudski
Burnley are a very well run football club...if I had to choose between us, Hull and them as a Pro...I'd go their too. There are also some really nice villages to live within an hours drive of Burnley, and the nightlife of Manchester not far either.
BCFC Jordan
Thought it might be the London factor, makes it even more disappointing really. Sort it out City.
CotswoldRed
I feel sick...reading those Burnley fans comments, should have, could have, been us. Let them have him to cheer them up. They still have to live in Burnley. Its a pig of a place.
bristolcitysweden
Our scouting is piss poor hence we have to bid on players like this winning us time. Bell has been ringing for 30 years but no one cares a shit

Could quite concivebaly live in Manc or Cheshire and drive that every day, not a problem. Good luck to him, for me it was a stupid amount of money. Its just pretty concerning now that yet another week has passed without any new faces in.. Granted there is a week and a bit left but Jesus this transfer window has been a shocker for our management team.

Granted there is a week and a bit left but Jesus this transfer window has been a shocker for our management team. How anyone can blame him for choosing Burnley over us I do t know. We apear to have had him in front of us and not made a compelling argument. Football-wise we are cony compelling..... Recently promoted, no real pedigree and one look at the table..... so unless the financial argument is more than compelling we won't get this type of player.... is this SL's strategy? Make us look ambitious on the face of it without backing up with the wages? One way or another it is hard to see quality players joining us without having to pay a premium at this late stage of the window..... Hope I'm wrong. Padlad
Not really sure where all the hate coming from all sounds a bit sour grapes. He has no vested interest in us, it really shouldn't come as a surprise we had an offer accepted ages ago, today proves if the players keen the transfer can go through pretty quickly, had he wanted to come here he would have already. Phileas Fogg
A lot for him to live up to now justifying that price tag. I rate him as a player but that's a heck of a lot. Amazing how Burnley have broken their transfer record on him and not in the prem.

Guest
Good luck to the lad. He will definitely help Burnley finish on the edge of the play offs narrowly missing out on 6th spot to Brentford. ?!

Admin Ian M Posted August 21, 2015 Admin Share Posted August 21, 2015 Who's up for some serious clutching at straws.... Gary has unfavourited the tweet that said "you can do better than them!" I wonder if that was anything to do with me? I had an argument with a Brentford about his lack of respect in favouriting that tweet that he was tagged throughout. Maybe my argument resonated with him?

JoeAman08
Totally agree, there must be some Aussie/American players out there that could improve us for good value too and no language barrier. Funny you mention it as Reading is in for American Gyasi Zardes from LA Galaxy and he looks a good striker. Would tick some of the boxes as a 22 year old and athletic. Don't know much about his work rate and finishing though.
Manon
Think personally we dodged a bullet here. Not that I don't rate Gray, just think it was an obscene amount of money which should be better spent. I feel no bitterness toward him, he has probably made a good decision. I do feel slightly embarrassed for the club though, failure with such a bid is not a healthy association.
Nomad
Next Saturday should be a bit spicy then...he's either gonna haunt us again...two Saturdays on the trot...or SC will get Flint to kick him out the park... Don't you mean two Saturday's on the trot. With one Saturday in-between.
