In all the games I've seen him play I've admired his ability to break up play and get stuck in and win the ball. It's what you want in a defensive midfielder but what he desperately lacks is that ability to turn breaking up play into an attack. He doesn't move the ball to create options or find the right pass to set an attack off. He seems unsure what he wants to do most of the time and simply lays the ball back or little else. He's potentially a great player if he could intelligently turn winning the ball into attacking with it. I thought that was the very type of player we wanted to achieve that high press style of play.
