I'm no expert with Stats , never worked in an office so don't understand the workings of spreadsheets or the like , so I'll just leave this here. A quick Google says the "Mem" holds somewhere between 11,000 to 12,500 depending where you look , so the nearest they got was Norwich. This with segregation was a sell out, they said so ...

"With Anfield awaiting the winner of this sell-out fixture, it's set to be a big night under the lights at The Mem."

I think the reason Google may have failed you for once is that they seemed to change their attendance on a fortnightly basis throughout this season. Only the most cynical would say this was done to match whatever numbers came through the door that week.

Bristol Live are having a laugh with their headline here...

Bristol Rovers rank amongst Portsmouth and Derby County for best League One away attendances

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-rank-amongst-portsmouth-9283793

They're correct in Derby and Portsmouth being 1st and 2nd, then it's Bolton followed by Wigan, Reading, Blackpool, Oxford, and then finally Bristol Rovers with an average that's half of the Derby following 🎉

Technically true, in as much as Sheffield Utd rank with Man City in the Premier League table. A lot lower, but they rank in the same League .

🤔

Ok so bit of fact checking here. Below is a training ground with driveway, car park with many cars, and turning space for coaches. Alongside is a substantial building incorporating stand adjacent to a pitch  with dug outs and full perimeter barriers. To the right are 2 full size pitches and below is an area with markings that suggest training for set piecesPNGimage2.thumb.png.01ece00b6c185664aedb5184a0c1d273.png

And then we have (at the same scale), a driveway with some gravel and 4 cars. A small t shaped building and another building down a path and then a field with the grass mown in pretty patterns.PNGimage3.thumb.png.27804abd0e99e63ca3aafa972096ebed.png

Yep identical.

The figure they are quoting there for the Sags is 100% wrong. Their average was around 1100 earlier in the season after big away games at Derby and Reading and they’ve had plenty of sub 500 away followings in the last few months at places like Vale, Stevenage, Fleetwood and Lincoln. L1’s away averages for the season haven’t been published (as far as I can see) but it’ll be below 1k again.

We averaged 1400 and we sold out something like 10 away games, far more than they did.

I'll answer for you...no. The biggest attendance was for Norwich City and there were still unsold tickets in the home end. 'Build it and they will come...well maybe next season'

It’s what they do, exaggerate their crowds.

This is in exactly the same way that Newcastle ranked with Man City & Arsenal in the title race.

Fewer away fans than Reading, who let’s face it had a poor season, really is shit.

With specimen's like this is it any wonder that no one takes them seriously. This moron has completely lost touch with reality and should be stuck back onto the window.

EIGHTH.......**** me that's nearly half way down, like mid table and why did they stop the table at 8th ?  If they'd finished 15th, would they end the table there ? Who is the editor someone from MAGA ?

With my serious head on this morning, well done to those Gas fans who did travel. Not a good number though as a club from such a big city.

Perhaps the Post should be asked why 8th is such a creditable figure in their article, bearing in mind the point above.

Yes, in all honesty, I'd have kept quiet about that (8th) ,the gash will be calling fake news on it  !
