If it is Borthwick then they wouldn't be likely to get him before the end of the season. Gatland is being talked about as a potential interim through to the World Cup, with Borthwick on the staff for that and then taking over afterwards.

That's if they even make the change, which I wouldn't be certain about.

This is a mess entirely down to the RFU. Its been coming for >12 months - everyone could see the lack of progress under Jones but they have allowed the problem to drift.

Yep. I've said before that the time to get rid was 18 months ago, it would have given a new man 2 years to build to the World Cup whereas anyone coming in now would be working against the clock.

It was fair enough to let him carry on after the last World Cup but we haven't progressed since then and it's not just become evident in the last few weeks.

Let’s hope it’s true. Far from ideal to be changing coaches now but he needs to be ****** off. Terrible management from the RFU. They may well be the richest Rugby Union but they are run by imbeciles

So, he has finally gone, but who is going to replace him?

I am not sure Gatland would have been interested, even had Jones gone last week, but there don’t seem to be that many possibilities where one would say it was a fantastic choice.

It will be Borthwick, just a question of if they get him now or wait until the end of the season.

Good news.

It is my theory that at this elite level a team of internationals could take to the pitch and make a good fist of it through talent and leadership that is already there, they wouldn't need a coach in the short term, if say Eddie got locked in the toilet.

The coach has it in their gift to add to the performance, or as recently with England, detract from it.

I think this is the right move to freshen the team up, it has been going backwards despite what Eddie said.
