Marina's Rolls Royce
If it wasn't for those pesky kids and the mighty Morecambe- I'd have made it to February with a fully dry January. 7 Quote Link to comment
RoystonFoote'snephew
As I said in another earlier thread I'd keep Bell and let Semenyo go. To be fair to Antoine he showed good professionalism and a return to form before his departure but I maintain my brief that young Bell is a more natural finisher. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
mozo
VERY excited about Sam Bell now. He's shown with his 3 goals and 1 disallowed goal that he's got pace, touch and lethal finishing. Keep it going lad! 7 Quote Link to comment
miketh2nd
They just interviewed Bell on final score live on the iplayer, he seems chuffed and so he should be! 4 Quote Link to comment

Strong performance by the lads, and happy to see Bell proving me wrong; Dasilva's injury is the negative exception of a perfect afternoon. Two days and we'll know what Championship club will we challenge in the next round: maybe Luton? Understand your view but think it boosts the confidence of especially the younger players and aids us in our survival in a positive manner 1 Quote Link to comment

That loss against Lincoln in the league Cup had the opposite effect, knocking our confidence. Edited January 28, 2023 by Slack Bladder Unable to type Quote Link to comment

Offside
I couldn’t make it to today’s game, but I’ve very happy we beat them and it’s great to hear it was a good performance. Sounds like our young guns had an excellent game. 1 Quote Link to comment
Robbored
Really enjoyed the game today. City played some very decent, front foot football that reminded me of the football we saw under Danny Wilson He and Nige were teammates at Sheffield Wednesday. Is it a coincidence that Nige got his tram his team playing in the same way? Hopefully not and we’ll see more regular quality football. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Agreed; but putting a damper on things; Hull & Coventry (the two teams immediately above us) both won today. If City win next Saturday, we'll stay 17th. Still onwards & upwards; when's the 5th round draw; before or after Monday's TV game? Quote Link to comment
BCFCGav
What can you even say about that. Straight into my top 5 performances I’ve seen live. Some day. Quote Link to comment

Midred
Does anyone else think that not having Antoine there allowed a different style of play and gave Scott and Bell more freedom? 4 Quote Link to comment

Jerseybean
Thank you Bristol City. I was fearing the kind of hat-trick that life sometimes throws at you today, having had two shitty events I really thought a third was going to unfold at AG this afternoon - how wrong was I. So a bit of an explanation; yesterday we looked at a stunning house (for the second time) which I was completely blown away by and was keen to buy, however, Mrs Bean isn’t on the same page = end of. The next shitty thing happened this morning, when I trucked up at Jersey airport supposedly en route to Venice for the week. At the BA check in desk I was told that I would not be able to enter Italy, as planned, due to the ‘ten year rule’ relating to passports, so I returned home. My passport expires on 17 September 2023 and was issued on 16 April 2013. The member of BA staff at check in told me that the issue date must have at least three months beyond the date I was returning to the UK. This seemingly is the ‘ten year rule.’ When I revisited the gov.uk travel advice it states this: If you are planning to travel to an EU country (except Ireland), or Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican City, you must follow the Schengen area passport requirements. Your passport must be: - issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (check the ‘date of issue’) my date of issue is 16 April 2013 - valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date) my expiry date is 17 September 2023 The link above to the Schengen area passport requirements says this: If you are a non-EU national wishing to visit or travel within the EU, you will need a passport: - valid for at least 3 months after the date you intend to leave the EU country you are visiting - which was issued within the previous 10 years I still believe that my current passport is valid and falls within this criteria. Having made arrangements to take a week off work for this trip and my wife having taken a week off to care for our children you can imagine this has caused significant disruption and disappointment. So, I was really thinking bad things come in threes, City getting beaten will be the third. Totally delighted how wrong I was. Excellent performance, especially chuffed for Sam and Scotty and the entire team, who to a man, played very well. Hope the above bit about passports will be useful to others who are unaware of this little known bit of unknown ‘since we left the EU nonsense’. Who needs to move house or go to Venice when City turn in a performance like that! You Reds 6 3 Quote Link to comment

sh1t_ref_again
The only negative from today, Scott was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch and any prem scouts will be advising to get and pay the 25m quick before someone else does, worried we could sell by Tuesday 2 Quote Link to comment
