No way it would be anywhere near £1.5m

Signed for Burnley for £4million last summer, so I don’t think it’s unfeasible they would be looking to recoup a large amount of that if not selling.

If there is no chance of a permanent deal (including loan + future transfer), I would rather us stick to our current policy and not repeating previous mistakes for short-term fixes.

Would this be loan fee plus wage contribution though?

By way of comparison, Cannon loan fee is £1m but I dunno if that reflects the whole package or is £1m plus.

Whole package wouldn’t be near 1.5

source - trust me bro ?

Always debatable as to whether going players will step up earlier. Look at Szmodics- doing alright at Blackburn now, was decent enough at Peterborough to get into the radar of Blackburn.  No guarantees etc.

To be fair, he wasn't exactly awful here.

Unfortunately (for him), the powers that be bought Kasey Palmer at the same time, so he became dispensable, just a few minutes (it seemed) after signing.

Nixon saying today Twine goes to the highest bidder when asked if City are still in for him. Can’t see that being us but obvious next choice after missing out on Finn.

I don’t think he has been overly impressive there. He’s not enjoyed being out on the left and looked better in a No 10 position by all accounts.

A lot of the time we seem to chase players that are known talents at Championship level. And are obviously wanted by other Championship clubs eg Azaz and Twine. When we  get a comparatively  unknown talent at a good price eg Szmodics. We never play him  and sell him off. And now he is  the Championship leading scorer when have such a weak attack. The only sure thing is , if it can be screwed up then City always manage to do it

The thing is he’s played left side pretty much since he went to MK Dons.  He’s not played as a number 10 that much since Newport on loan.  It’s one of the reasons I’ve been a bit luke warm about him, because I’d want to sign his as a no10, but I think if we did sign him we’d sign his as a Left Forward. I wouldn’t play Jason Knight where he is either come to that! 🤣
