Clear pen to me

Doubt it's given at the other end.

Ref couldn't wait to give it I expect...If that is a clear penalty what were about 10 of ours maybe more over the last 2 seasons.

Spawny tossers tend to get the football gods in their favour too.

Think the ref gave it live so it wasn't overturned just confirmed.

It looks like a dive, and for me fails the consequence threshold but objectively I think its probably one that I can just about stomach not being turned over by VAR even though I don't think it should be one.

I should add, this is very much a game Aston Villa should be winning in any event, perhaps would have won even no penalty and 11v11..Berge got 2nd yellow but some claims that Carlos could've gone for Aston Villa too.

Not sold on that myself, not seen the Berge 2nd yellow.

That handball is blatant!! Is it a red? Idk.

It's a handball without a doubt.

Clearly hand ball. That was clear to see even in real time. Its hit his thigh and then he's flicked it with his hand to take it away from the oncoming player.

Although I'm not sure he's denied a goal scoring opportunity as I'm not sure if the Burnley player would have had a goal score opportunity had he not handled the ball.

But it's definitely 100% a free kick to Burnley.

Yep

Free kick all day long

But ........ The ref missed it and var not allowed to look and refer as not penalty or red card worthy

In the modern game , red every day , foot off floor , studs first

No intent but dangerous / reckless

Ruining the game, too much analysis, seeing things that are not there in a contact sport. Might as well slow it to walking pace and wear foam boots and helmets. Pointless.

Why did it take the ref 50 seconds looking at the monitor to change his mind

If it was a clear mistake it take a few seconds max

When will a ref have the bollocks to look at a screen and tell the var he is wrong?

Pathetic nodders (refs) ruining our game

But in the context of that tackle it was neither dangerous or reckless.

If you’re going to dive in then make sure your studs don’t contact the opponent’s leg. Particularly, don’t allow the base of your studded foot ,with your leg at full stretch, to contact the opponent’s standing leg.

Having had 30 stitches in a shin caused by raised studs, I can testify it ******* hurts and takes a long time to recover.

What does my head in is that VAR pick and choose what they want to review

CP defender has arms around Everton players waist for 4-5 seconds (unsure on how long you can hold a player Depends on the team i guess)

Why dont they ask the ref to look at it?
