I assumed it was on SKY but no. We're playing on Sunday because of the Squatter Egg chasers.

And because my Son plays on a Sunday, we will miss the match.

And some wonder why I detest sharing the use of the stadium with that lot?

Cough back to the Memorial ffs

It's ridiculous not sure why the bears game couldn't be moved instead ? Why can't they play Sunday afternoon and us Saturday ashton gate has been the home of  Bristol city for over 100 years and we play second fiddle it also bugs me that we don't have the bristol city crest up outside as you walk into the fan village.

I'm another one that can't make it as i don't finish work till 2 (would be the same if it was a 1.30 Saturday KO) honestly don't know why i bother with a season ticket as i've missed so many games over the last few years due to 15:00 KO times being changed

This is the only time it’s happened this year, isn’t it? Outside of games over festive period etc

Sky is 99% of times the only reason it changes, which effects every club. Part of me actually dreads the impact of the PL if we ever got there. Think it’s something like around half the games for every club are ever actually played at Saturday 3pm because of the tv deals/rights.

I believe (someone may correct me) but the football club gets first option and decision on everything, not the Bears. So it would’ve been a City decision to have Bears tomorrow and us Sunday. Club may have seen an away day to Southampton on a Wednesday, freezing cold night against a side we’d be doing along of running against, as an opportune time to get an extra day of rest before the next game?

Okay thanks. It's just that W-S-M Seagull suggested our game was being moved because of the Rugby.

Do we know why it was moved back in June, if it wasn't because of Rugby?

It was moved because of the Rugby, but not because it was due to be played at Ashton Gate.

They just didn't want a fixture clash and moved our match to give people the opportunity to go to both. The location of the rugby was irrelevant.

I think that's what has been said anyway.

Spot on. Would have worked as well as if they were playing the rugby over at the Millennium tomorrow, there’s a few of us who’d have gone over for the day.

You're right so far regarding this season, usually the Welsh games get changed, Norwich on Sunday, why they've moved Hull to a Friday night in a couple of weeks time is beyond me as there is no egg-chasing on Saturday.

So later on this month on Friday night 22nd will you be at AG for our game against Hull or will you be travelling up to Newcastle to watch Bristol play Newcastle Falcons? both kick off at 19:45

It's their home as well. The we've been here longer argument is irrelevant.

It's not though isit. Ashton gate historically has been the home of Bristol city football club since 1887 just because lansdown now owns it and leases it to us and the bears doesn't mean we should be okay with that. Ashton gate should be rich with our footballing history instead it's all been watered down to be used multipurposely we don't even have our club crest up on the outside as you walk in the players tunnel is full of bears photos etc not for me tbh and this isn't even mentioning the wear and tare on the pitch it's a commercialised thing done by Steve bristol city is very commercialised these days which has its pros and cons but does seem to strip away some of that rich history imo

I mean that commercialised bit is part of the modern game, element of it is needed to just stand still but it is a bit Idk. Necessary evil?

That's a good valid point to be fair

It's certainly needed I agree I guess its just all about striking the right balance with things which the current ownership has got wrong in recent times don't even get me started on giving away fans the whole stand behind our goal 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not a huge fan of it but as you say needed but so is a balance.

Ha yeah that's an increasing bugbear of mine (and probably many fans) too. Really can give away sides an inbuilt advantage.

Yep! Along with massive hikes in season ticket prices, a lottery for away tickets, entitled premiership fans, VAR.

All in all, I’m kind of wishing we’d stuck with Nigel Pearson and a lesser chance of making it 😂😂

I'm not sure you will get off scot-free with that comment .

That’ll definitely be because it’s Christmas weekend, lots of people will be travelling on the Saturday or last minute shopping.

Years ago it was always called Black Saturday and tended to attract smaller crowds as everyone would be Christmas shopping. Nowadays most people would more likely to be Christmas shopping in November

Since 1904, Bedminster FC played there from 1887, We played at St John's Lane from 1897 till we moved to the gate.

Last Saturday before Xmas always seen as the worst one for attendances.

Cliche of loads of blokes doing last minute Christmas shopping instead, I think.

Plenty of sides move their game to avoid, Swansea have done so, too.

OMG; their fans are soooo depressed looking forward to this game.

In that case, and given the state of this forum since NP's departure, perhaps the game should be sponsored by the Samaritans!

Last time i looked we are the only team in the FL that have moved their game from Saturday to Friday night, i would also imagine that a lot of people would of finished work early for xmas and the last place they are likely to be is at AG on a Friday night to watch Hull City !!!

Didn’t we also say something about an extra days rest before the Boxing Day when we moved it?

I’m glad it’s at home. Horrible journey for Hull fans, with all the Christmas traffic.
