Cough back to the Memorial ffs It's ridiculous not sure why the bears game couldn't be moved instead ? Why can't they play Sunday afternoon and us Saturday ashton gate has been the home of Bristol city for over 100 years and we play second fiddle it also bugs me that we don't have the bristol city crest up outside as you walk into the fan village.

Outside of games over festive period etc Sky is 99% of times the only reason it changes, which effects every club. Part of me actually dreads the impact of the PL if we ever got there. Think it’s something like around half the games for every club are ever actually played at Saturday 3pm because of the tv deals/rights.

I believe (someone may correct me) but the football club gets first option and decision on everything, not the Bears. So it would’ve been a City decision to have Bears tomorrow and us Sunday. Club may have seen an away day to Southampton on a Wednesday, freezing cold night against a side we’d be doing along of running against, as an opportune time to get an extra day of rest before the next game? 3

It's just that W-S-M Seagull suggested our game was being moved because of the Rugby. Do we know why it was moved back in June, if it wasn't because of Rugby? It was moved because of the Rugby, but not because it was due to be played at Ashton Gate. They just didn't want a fixture clash and moved our match to give people the opportunity to go to both. The location of the rugby was irrelevant. I think that's what has been said anyway. 3

You're right so far regarding this season, usually the Welsh games get changed, Norwich on Sunday, why they've moved Hull to a Friday night in a couple of weeks time is beyond me as there is no egg-chasing on Saturday. So later on this month on Friday night 22nd will you be at AG for our game against Hull or will you be travelling up to Newcastle to watch Bristol play Newcastle Falcons? both kick off at 19:45

Ashton gate historically has been the home of Bristol city football club since 1887 just because lansdown now owns it and leases it to us and the bears doesn't mean we should be okay with that. Ashton gate should be rich with our footballing history instead it's all been watered down to be used multipurposely we don't even have our club crest up on the outside as you walk in the players tunnel is full of bears photos etc not for me tbh and this isn't even mentioning the wear and tare on the pitch it's a commercialised thing done by Steve bristol city is very commercialised these days which has its pros and cons but does seem to strip away some of that rich history imo Edited December 1, 2023 by BCFC31

That’ll definitely be because it’s Christmas weekend, lots of people will be travelling on the Saturday or last minute shopping. Years ago it was always called Black Saturday and tended to attract smaller crowds as everyone would be Christmas shopping. Nowadays most people would more likely to be Christmas shopping in November

Northern Red
The reason given for the Hull game moving was something about extra recovery time for the games around Christmas.

GrahamC
Aside from Swansea in our division, Cambridge v Exeter in League One & 6 games in League Two are all playing then instead of the Saturday. I absolutely get the point about it being a pig for the Hull fans but it really isn’t unusual.
