Huddersfield Town at home match thread

Forseeable.

Losing Vyner was a blow but we compounded it by moving McCrorie, and therefore taking out that attacking threat, Sykes, and therefore taking out a player who is on an assist a game at present from an area where he could do so, and Knight, and therefore losing the link between the back and front part of the pitch as James/Williams are sitting far deeper.

From the sideline, the gap (dislocation) between front and back is huge. We’re ceding most of the pitch as a result.

I’m not saying playing Knight-Lebel would have led to a better performance. But losing one player through injury and then causing four issues is a bit careless at best.

Really poor performance so far, 40 mins gone and nit a single attempt on goal from us.

Can’t even put this down to Huddersfield sitting in can we? They’re having a go.

Willing to give a bit of a pass with so many people out of position, but it’s a little frustrating that just as we look to be clicking we revert to form again.

This is a good half to watch us problem solve.  No result-pressure.

Terriers front 6 so fluid, causing us major headaches.

Sets up like an upside down triangle.

                 Kasumu

            Rudoni Matos

Thomas Burgzorg Karoma

But then the rotations are killing us as our back-3 don’t know whether to stick or twist with marking or passing on.  So Terriers finding space all over the place.  Thankfully they’ve not fashioned too many chances.

Their press is good too, not helped by Tanner and McCrorie being blessed with passing range, hence our main route is out via Roberts and Pring…and they know it!

Just now, Sir Geoff said:

Lack any sort of intent. Can't always rely on creativity. Sometimes you have to force the issue, play the ball forward quickly, press.

The problem is we have players who don't pass very well!
