Your a nerd.

Do you go to a private school by any chance?

Yes he does which explains his liberal comments. Its so easy to have an opinion about life when you are 15, but once you have seen the real world ie worked your opinions change.

I can officially diagnose that he has nerditis.

Unfortunately its hard to treat as its probably been beaten into him from an early age.

The disease can lead to false impressions on life and follow on to depression when you realise that everything isn't rosy.

Now there is no actual cure to this terrible illness, but I can prescribe some rock and roll music to help ease the pain.

I would start with The Clash and The Who, but come back to me if its not working.

Good luck. :fingerscrossed:

You're a stereotypical c**k. Go get drunk & be sick in the gutter.

 So the "Real World" is going to teach me to get falling down drunk every weekend? Great world.

Who said anything about falling down drunk? I merely mentioned that you cant state an opinion on something you havent experienced yourself because you are 15!! When you have got an education, a job and a life Ron you can debate away. Until then go play on the streets with your mates or get a job or something instead of clogging up the forum with mindless dribble you don't know about!!

No the real world will let us grown ups decide what we want to spend our hard earned money on and what we want to do with our spare time so for gods sakes sod off and stop preaching like the sanctimonius idiot your starting to sound like.

And if we get drunk and fall over and hurt ourselves, so what at least we had fun which is more than can be said for your anal life it would seem!

Why, would you have liked to say that? If so, then in my eyes, unfortunately, yes.

I couldn't care less how you kill yourselves, since you are determined to do so, but you should be aware of the dangers & especially how it will impact on other people.

It really is a sad state of affairs if the general consensus of the Country I was born & live in feels that "getting drunk, falling over and getting hurt" is fun.

Last time I checked ron I had been a grown up for nearly a decade so I kinda think I know about the big scary dangers you keep bleating on about and I don't need a CHILD reminding me.

Don't get me started on religion...

People can hurt themselves sober as well Ron, its not all down to the evil that is Alcohol. Thats just what the press would have you believe sadly, because sensationalism sells papers.

You've said in this thread that you don't get drunk often. Once in a while isn't going to harm you. So what I wrote wasn't directed at you.

But Ron you cant preach what you havent experienced yourself. You don't know many of the people on this thread who have posted yet you judge them. Your only a teenager who has read stuff in the papers and on tv. Stop being so narrow minded and realise that in the real world people do let their hair down from time to time. It doesnt make them a bad person and it may help you get on in life. If you come out with comments like you have on this topic when you get to University you will be eaten alive and wont last 5 minutes.

Ok, this is getting to me now.

In my family there were 2 people.

Person A: 48 yr old woman, on drugs since she was 15 or so, never did any exercise and was alchohol dependent.

Person B: 38 yr old, never smoked or drunk in his life, exercised regulary and ate well.

Go on Ronald, guess which one died an early death leaving 6 kids fatherless.

Why are you putting words into my mouth? I haven't questioned if they're bad people. If they don't want to be judged then why are they boasting about how much they've drunk?

Whether I'm 15 or 35, or I'm going to be "eaten alive", doesn't change the content or validity of my opinion.

It will do once you start University and mixed with both males and females in a different environment to the fluffy one you live in at the moment.

I don't get involved in Alcohol (I have nothing against drinking responsibly, just don't like the taste), so it has a minute impact on my life. That will never change.

You really don't know how much truth their is in your statement. If I'm out until the early hours it won't be accompanied by booze.

Ron I'm not really twisting what you say so much as just being generally sarcastic.

If you achieve not drinking alcohol throughout University you will quite possibly be the first in the world to do so. I would recommend contacting the Guinness book of records if you make it but somehow I doubt very much you will.

The thing is, alcohol is fun. Having a few beers with your mates can be a great laugh. You don't need to have 27 pints, vomit on passers by and kill a random dog walker with your bare fists on the way home.

You seem to be missing the old adages "everything in moderation", and "try anything once". Trust me, you'll have much more fun in life if you relax and enjoy the ride instead of fretting about things being harmful/risky/unsafe.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, 'WOW, WHAT A RIDE!!!'"

I don't know who originally said that but in my book they were alright.

Trust me mate, in a fear years your opinion will change. I'm only 16, a year older than you, i'm not going to act as if i'm more 'mature' than you, or know more than you, but all I know is, in this last year alone, my opinions and my views have changed a hell of a lot, religiously, politically, socially... everything really. It's something called 'waking up and smelling the coffee'. Millions of people die every day, through war, poverty, disease and murder... and every day, millions of innocent people are killed. These innocent people never expected it to be them, they never wanted to die (suicide not included) but they did. It's a cruel world, and when you think about it hard enough, you realise it could be you. You could be the victim of a stabbing tomorrow, and end up on your death bed. It's not something you have a choice over. And you know the 6 words which have appealed to me more than any? " MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME ".

If you're going to lock yourself up away from fun, socializing etc you're going to end up a lonely person. Enjoy yourself. Have a drink or two. Thousands of people get completely wrecked out of their face every weekend, it's fun! and where there may be risks... who cares? If you're going to be wary of all risks you're not going to be a very good person to socialize with. My father has been smoking for the greater part of his life, his insides are probably blacker than the very depths of hell, but he's a very fun, friendly person.

Chrikey i've rambled on alot.. most of it isn't really rellevant.. bottom line mate, don't knock it untill you've tried it :clapping:

I agree 100%. Alcohol in general is not going to make you ill. Abuse will though.

This is where i think your argument falls down. Alcohol isn't a taste. I doubt you've tried everything there is to try so i don't know how you can rule it our on that basis?

If you're truly happy with the way you are, and exactly the way you are, and any mood altering substance frightens the life out of you then fair enough.

If you know you have an addictive personality and that it could cause major problems in your life fair enough.

But to rule it out after drinking, after drinking crap (based on the average 16 year olds drinking experience) is odd to me.

I didn't like lots of things taste wise as a kid that I do now, as a slightly older kid.

No offence but quite a few kids your age probably think the same.

Go and join a debate you have some real knowledge about !

This is where we will have to disagree, the rest of your post I would never question. IMO there are plenty of things you can do to socialise without endangering your health; including drinking in moderation. You don't really need to be that careful to live a good and safe life. So why endanger that?
