How about the Harcliffe riots, and the visit of Sheffield Utd in the late 80s.

The severity of the Hartcliffe and Southmead riots was hushed up by the authorities and I can't find much information. Was that the Sheffield United game in the late 1980's that saw the scrapping on the pitch in front of the Dolman Stand?

Our Bristolian ancestors riot for their right to vote in Queen Square. Many were killed by dragoons during this riot with some later sentenced to be hung or transported to Australia for their part in the disturbance. The Bristol 1831 Reform Riot, widely acclaimed to have been the worst of any rioting in 19th Century England.......
