  1. Glad you chose East Side Story. Cracker of an album. I bought U2's October the day it was released in Strawberry Fayre, Broadmead. It was wrapped up in the usual cellophane. However, I never opened it. That night, I was st the Locarno to see U2. Including encore, they were on stage for a misely 45 minutes. I was so annoyed, I took the album back to Strawberry Fayre and exchanged it for Deptford's finest. I first saw Squeeze at the Colston Hall supporting Dr.Feelgood. Bono and Co redeemed themselves on the War tour a year or so later at the Colston. On stage for over 2 hours this time. Bono used the PA as a ladder to get to the balcony(when they used to be stacked on the side of the stage).
  2. Good news for some if us though. We won't need VPN to watch the game. It should be live on Robins TV for a domestic audience. I understand the frustration though if you've booked a train. I have to fly a day earlier in case Sky makes one of my games a different ko time.
  3. 1 The Beatles Abbey Road * 2 Dr Feelgood Stupidity+ 3 The Amazons How Do I Know If Heaven Will Find Me? 4 Neal Morse Band Innocence And Danger 5 TBC. Could be... 4. Nor me! Was he a relation of the Carter/Johnny Cash dynasty?
  5. And another 2 fans behind me. The net saved a few lives that day. Just as well Jimmy scored!
  6. If the net hadn't been in the way, I would've headed it back....albeit with severe concussion/knockout.
  7. Jimmy Mann's against Forest must be there or thereabouts surely? As others have said, Ronnie's goal in the FA Cup with a young John Motson on commentary is iconic. First time I went to Edgar St with City, I was imagining Ronnie's Radford's goal in front of me!
  8. Saw JLL play one of only a few gigs on his cut short UK tour at Gloucester Leisure Centre early 90s. The bar was split into a sort of VIP lounge for basically just 2 people; Andrew Lloyd Webber and his then wife Sarah Brightman.
  9. He can't play when warm. He's a Coldplay type of guy.
  10. I'm flying over for the Sunderland away match in February. Hope to see you there Oskar.
  11. Official Site isn't too clear as yet re paying to watch Robins TV within the UK. However, if Swansea can do it, so can we. No doubt Robins TV will confirm tomorrow.
  12. Red button is via Sky football channel tonight. Picture is freezing every so often.
  13. He'll get his PA to do it!
  14. Don't forget that when there are multiple red button matches on the same night, you can record the game. This is beneficial for me as I prefer my Radio Brizz commentary via the City Robins TV radio subscription. Push the Record button after 7.40pm on your Sky remote, when on the Main Event/Football Sky channel. A pop up of games will reveal games available. Highlight City to record. The clever bit is to then synchronise the game with Radio Briz. As I am in Norn Iron, there is a delay of up to 30 seconds for the City Radio feed. Go into your planner after 7.40pm and access your recording. Simply fast forward until you see the ref blow his whistle to commence the game and press pause. Release pause when you hear the whistle on Radio feed....you might have to pause a couple of times but you will get it to sync.
  15. Slarti, never mind newsreaders doing that annoying 'thank you. You can add Geoff Twentyman to your rant. All the summarisers from other games are recorded via 5 Live yet he thanks them. I think you'll find that it is part laziness and part BBC protocol. If you watch BBC News, the presenter has to name check at the start who is going to talk. For instance.... Presenter: Over now to our reporter Slarti Bartflast who is at the Memorial Stadium. Slarti, why have Bristol Rovers decided to stop trading? Slarti: Because they're xxxx. (It's the next bit that gets me annoyed...) Presenter: Thank you. Slarti Bartflast there. In other news... WE KNOW WHO IT WAS. THE CAPTION SAID SO. THE PRESENTER NAMECHECKED SLARTI 5 SECONDS PREVIOUSLY.
  16. Have you not got a credit yet for the lack of Norwich commentary? Hopefully you contacted the correct email address for Robinstv. There are 2 email addresses but only one will be recognised for a refund.
  17. If you don't like support bands, They're the main offender.
  18. I was at the Stoke game. If Jay says it was a shot then someone needs to go to Specsavers!
  19. Indeed. The bloke who invented it, iirc, wanted to call it The Hobby but when patenting/copyrighting it was told he couldn't use that name. The Latin name for Hobby (as in the bird) is .....Subbuteo. He then suggested this name and got the rights. Clever bloke!
  20. The Singing Ringing Tree is a wind powered sound sculpture resembling a tree, set in the landscape of the Pennines, it is two miles (3.2 km) south of Burnley town centre. Yertiz. Courtesy of an album cover from my favourite UK Rock band....
  21. I cry very rarely. Going to bed after watching the match (I was a schoolboy back then) was one of those rare occasions.
  22. Phew! That's what I thought as well. He still went forward but didn't try to do anything overtly fanciful in the second half. The first goal reminded me of England v Poland WC qualifier in 1973. All Norman had to do was hoof it into the proverbial Row Z. He didn't and Poland scored. Whatever happened to Norman? Became one of Alan Dicks' best signings and where the word legend can be correctly used. If you don't know about the above mistake, yertiz. It is about 2 minutes after start but it's worth watching from the beginning.
