  1. Tanner doesn’t pass the fitness test and is therefore the one player to leave the MD20 from Saturday, with Nelson returning to the bench in his stead. Big win tonight please. Put the back to back losses truly behind us.

  2. He’s a change I’d make for Rotherham. We’re all about ‘keeping the shirt’ and squad players are told to stay on their toes as their opportunity will come. Naismith, a great player, has made two expensive mistakes in our last two games.

After a 2-0 up, to 3-2 loss, against a pretty poor Stoke team, I think we have to give some other players opportunities on Wednesday. I’d bring Roberts in at LCB and Weimann into the midfield, with Knight playing just a little deeper. Naismith and Williams out. Rotherham are poor, we don’t need two sitting midfielders.

Ideally we could bring an actual centre-half in for Kal, but barring the kids we don’t have any more. I understand Roberts has experience in that role.

  3. Unchanged XI and just one change to the MD20 as TC is back! He takes Nelson’s bench spot, excellent to see him on a team sheet, and a little sooner than expected. Hopeful for today, come on boys 🔴⚪

Barring any addition the list will be looking so much better by the end of the next international break.

    Conway almost back

Vyner not out for too long

    Benarous on his way

    Atkinson back November/December

    McCorie back early ‘24

It does point toward the squad getting a massive boost about midway through the season, ready for a real assault on the upper reaches of the table. Exciting times ahead hopefully.

I'm still taking the Vyner and Conway news yesterday with a pinch of salt, we've been burned too many times before! Once they're back on a teamsheet - happy days.

For me the only metric to define a big club is attendances (consistently over several years whilst taking into account success / lack of). I actually think that honours and recent years in the top flight reduce how big the club is relative to their attendances. Ie, a club that averages 21/22k consistently over years like us despite no honours or recent top flight exposure is bigger than one that gets the same crowds but has had some success (eg, Burnley, Cardiff, Watford). There's definitely a spreadsheet asking to be created to measure this!

For me that’s a measure of support rather than club size. But club size is so open ended as a term, it’s very open to individual interpretation so there’s no real right or wrong. One thing we can all agree on is we are a well supported club, which beggars belief based on some recent seasons 😁

  6. Always hurts to lose and the players looked hurt at the end, but a pretty Herculean defensive effort. Bloody penalties will never be our friend will they. Still, 8th as the dust settles. Good place to be.

  7. I said we needed another centre-half… Vyner is injured and we’ve done what we really couldn’t afford to do, lost a defender before any have come back. Trying to stay positive but that’s the kind of injury that really damages a season.

On a brighter note, super Andi Weimann back in the squad. Tough game today but we’re here and we’re behind them. Let’s go ?⚪

I hope rrrrrrrrovvvverrrrs sit firmly at the top of that list Gav

They do but we need a game to reignite the anger I feel. We’re ahead of them in every department so there’s not too much to get worked up about ?

  9. Well I assume we'll still be contracted with O'Neills, which is fine by me. A slick red home kit, a funky purple and lime away kit (since we have black this season and don't want to be samey), and maybe a nice white third kit since we haven't had white for a bit? All with the new round badge, no splats. Easy, fun, happy days.
