  1. Love it there! Honeypot Honeypot off off off! You know if you know!
  2. A sensible poster on the Derby forum. Do they not call that an Oxymoron. Almost the perfect word minus the Oxy over there. Or Perhaps I’m just over sensitive to being banned!!
  3. We have sold 14500/15000 season tickets so far. The away end is a difficulty as it seems we are not in a position to sell any of those tickets to home supporters even if the end is semi full. So this means 19500 seats are unusable to potd sales assuming that no season ticket holder makes his seat available for the club to resell. It is very clear City are now first and foremost a business that provides entertainment and there are a large number of supporters that now see it like, that a product. attendance will be effected by competition even when season tickets are bought. Other things that play into are the “oh eff it I’ll stay at home” culture will be any amount of weather or a gazillion other issues like strikes etc. My point is Prem game on the Telly v other multiplicity of factors and some supporters will stay away. Gone are the days where the majority are hardened supporters and will always go. You only have to look around when the crowd is announced to see the ‘no shows’ at some games now. A Prem 5:30 KO can often be a factor.
  4. Thanks fella. Looks a very decent crowd of interested people. Cmon England!
  5. Bless you! City are trying to attract supporters that aren’t dyed in the wool, City till I die, EastEnders with rubber chicken legs. Some will have a decision to make! However if they have bought their season ticket they can go and do what they like
  6. A CEO is going to be involved in everything at any business on some level to be fair. But yes there are ‘internal ()’ pressures that may get in the way of operations. It often comes down to fine margins…If a decision is made to do something over a period of time, that is normal business operations. Accelerating these decisions for individual and/or group benefit is almost impossible to establish. However it happens all the time. Im not sure what Mr Ashton may or may not have done, however the man makes my flesh crawl. Nevertheless he’s not unique and I’m going to guess he has garnered enough experience to continue to do well for himself. I read some of the article up the page and it certainly made me feel he was dealing with a different set of circumstances than he was here. The Americans will see him for what he is, but use that to their advantage regardless of their knowledge of 442 etc etc etc!
  7. There is sense in this. I’ve had a subscription since day one on auto renewal. Last season I had to have a moan to get the friendlies.
  8. Yes Bolaise was a happy freak. Sell ons are always there now. But the fee and the sell on clauses will be negotiated simultaneously. The biggest issue is a clause over a new contract. Ala the ones you mentioned.
  9. I have the white one signed by the Cheese Brian Drysdale, Clive Whitehead, Donnie and Gerry Gow. (Framed of course) I have a Purple n Lime one from Liverpool 92. I’ve given two or three away over the years but I’ll probably get cremated in both of them. ?
  10. So I guess Kalas could well be at training regardless of his intentions.
  11. I thought contracts ran to the end of June? But not really sure.
  12. Money has only just started to move courtesy of The Saudis. Once some really big deals get done then we will see, who has the real interest. I pretty sure there are a couple of clubs that haven’t been talked about in the press watching to see who makes a move. Who on earth predicted the European cup finalists as a possible destination?
  13. I was at that one. My old man didn’t like his uncle much who lived in Oxford and he dropped heavy hints he wanted to go when we dropped ma off. Not a chance in hell.! I lived in Headington for a while subsequently (Hence REDOXO) so know the Manor Well. the two games that stand out were the effing fog game. Also one where I gave Wayne abuse up until he scored and a whole section of people were falling about as I lead an Ohhh Wayney Wayney!
  14. A couple of Thrupney Bits on Bristol City for promotion! Gotta be a winner! Anything else will go tits up for sure!
  15. I think he might be. However it will need someone to get the best out of him. I think it’s in there but no one got it out consistently here and its a matter of time whether we see if someone else can. We can count a few games he looked brilliant and a load more otherwise, we’ll see if that changes and he finds a regular spot in someone decent midfield.
  16. They do. The issue with any bid of 18 is that it will get out usually via his agent or some combination of sources meaning other clubs will have a decision to make on bidding. I hope the bid comes in and it’s confirmed by a reputable source. This thread will be 100 pages over night and we will see who is “to coin a phrase” Really Really interested!
  17. David. You disagree with me! How jolly well could you!!! You know I’m Spot On!!
  18. He would have been consistently in our side if he had much else
  19. No Dave.! Don’t hide too well either. The issue with HNM is he has undoubted good close control. He has nice little drag backs and is good at getting between the opposition and the ball (Now make the comparison with Scott who has all of that and a million other aspects to his game) HNM has not developed other aspects of his game to any extent since he got in the first team. Is that due to the club or due to the player, I don’t know, but he became a bigger and bigger liability as he wasn’t great at much of the team aspects of the game, including passing, shooting, tracking, defending, clearing (how many shanked clearances were there…my god) and pretty much anything other than having the ball at or near his feet. The bloke up the thread asked why some clubs may be interested, no fee of course, but he does have undoubted ability that some will hope to develop into a very good team player. We will see but City didn’t. The boy knew he wasn’t moving forward and the last year is now history. Mr Pearson didn’t want him for our first team for a number of reasons the contract thing just being one aspect. I hope the kid goes on to be a world beater, but he stalled here in the end and it’s on others to get the player out of him!!
  20. Cheap and worth a punt as he may develop into a top team player rather than a show pony.
  21. ?? it would really get on my wick. I know many people think he has great ability and I think he does too. If he was a competitor in a keepy uppy competition or any kind of close control exhibition you would really appreciate his range!
  22. That’s very rough. I remember everything at the time, you can hypothesize over who he’s talking about, but it’s fairly obvious in view of the time line. However players are treated as commodities now more than ever. You just have to look at the hype around buying and selling of certain individuals. This player is a top individual and certainly was a very good player and was paid accordingly as a commodity Unfortunately few have to go through this kind of turmoil in their 20s under that kind of pressure at home and a promotion push, where you are expected to be the difference by your management, who themselves were under huge pressure. Good luck to the fella!
  23. Yup. 48p a minute at peak IIRC! I suppose reading Raggy responses is cheaper!
